Bheeshan Bhairav is a trinetri (three-eyed) and young form of Lord Bhairav who could be seen as red-skinned in his idol established in Varanasi. This form of Lord Bhairav is also known as Bhoot Bhairav.
He has 5 arms carrying, Kunda, iron mace, Khattak, parigha lauh mace, and bhindipala Ankush. It is believed that Bheeshan Bhairav relieves curses and sins of his true devotees. He is considered to be a fearless form of lord shiva.
Those who perform immense prayers and worships this form of Lord Bhairav stays away from negative energies and evil spirit. People believe that true devotees of Bheeshan Bhairav can never witness any negativity in life and easily get rid of bad spirits.
He is believed to be a guardian of the North direction.
