Draupadi was married to 5 sons of Kunti. she along with her husband was sent to exile in forests for 12 years.
Draupad Aditya temple has a mysterious story behind it. When the Pandavas were in exile in the forest, many dignitaries, sages, kings, and ministers used to visit them as they were horrified by events happened before.
Draupadi found it very difficult to cater to and provide Hospitality to the disciples visiting them in the forest. Draupadi decided and came to Kashi and started praying to Lord Surya. Lord Surya was intensely overwhelmed by her deep devotion to prayer and appeared before her.
After knowing the problem lord Surya granted the boon and gifted her one vessel and told her about the richness of the vessel and one condition to use it. he told her that she can cook food and she could go on feeding any number of guests and the vessel would never get empty.
The vessel would only work this way if she will be the last one to eat. lord, Surya put this condition in front of Draupadi and gave the vessel to her.
later, Lord Surya also told Draupadi that lord Shiva blessed him and that if a devotee comes to Vishweshwar Kashi, praying to lord Surya, will be blessed by him. whosoever prays to lord Surya he will be free from all the hardships in his life.
[According to kasha Khand chapter 49] lord Surya is deeply concerned for the sincere devotees, and whoever will pray to lord Surya in Vishweshwar, Kashi, with utmost devotion he will never be hungry or out of food in his life.
The Aditya located here came to be called Draupad Aditya.
