Legend

The sixth day of Vasantik Navratri belongs to Lalita Gauri, says the 70th chapter of Kashi Khand. It is located on Lalita Ghat and is also known as Lalita Mata Temple.

In addition to removing all impediments from her devotees’ lives, Lalitha Gauri guards the Lalita Tirtha location. It all becomes exquisite when you adore Lalita Gauri. Lalita Gauri worshippers are guaranteed to be prosperous and wealthy in all spheres of life. The second day after Poornima in Aswin Month, Krishna Paksha, Dwitiya, is considered lucky for performing a special puja to Lalita Gauri.

A person will undoubtedly experience financial success if they worship Lalita Gauri and take a bath in Lalita Teerth (now Lalita Ghat). (Chapter 70 of Kashi Khand). This ghat is called after the well-known Goddess Lalita (one of the incarnations of Goddess Durga) in Kashi and Prayag. This place is associated with the well-known lingam of Ganga Kesava and the shrines of Gangatitya, Kasi Devi, Lalita Devi, and Bhagirath Tirtha.

People think that catching a glimpse of Lalita Devi is equivalent to circumambulating the entire globe. The Nepali Temple, located near the Nepali Ghat at the top of the ghat, is a replica of Pashupatinath Temple, which was established in 1843 under the patronage of Rajendra Sah, King of Nepal, and it is assumed that the lingam there copies the famed Pasupatisvara in Kathmandu.

The temple features various erotic-themed wooden carvings, and each of the four entrances and portals is completely embellished with beautiful architectural details. The Lalita Gauri Temple, which is revered by women devotees for the welfare of the family, is also located on the ghat.
