Sri Maha Prathyangira Devi Temple is situated in the space of Sholinganallur, Chennai, India, nearby the sea shore of Bay of Bengal. The Temple sits on the banks of the Buckingham Canal. This is a wonderful sanctuary worked for Goddess Prathyangira, in her manifestation of Shri Maha Prathyangira Devi. History and Legend :

Ruler Shiva accepting manifestation as Bhagwaan Sarabeeshwara conjuring the three shaktis (Parvati, Mahalakshmi and Saraswathi) however he was unable to battle against Narsimha Swami who appeared as Gandaberunda.
As such Goddess Parvati showed as Prathyangira and stopped the battle among Sarabeeshwara and Ganaberunda. It is accepted that she had the forces of Bhagwaan Shiva, Bhagwaan Vishnu and Goddess Parvati. There are other fanciful stories related to the Goddess who is additionally famous as Narsimhi or Narashimika.
