The Chamundeshwari Temple is a Hindu sanctuary situated on the highest point of Chamundi Hills around 13 km from the castle city of Mysuru in the province of Karnataka in India.The sanctuary was named after Chamundeshwari or, the wild type of Shakti, a tutelary divinity held in veneration for quite a long time by the Maharaja of Mysuru.

Chamundeshwari is called by the people of Karnataka as Naada Devi , which means state Goddess. It is arranged at the rise of around 3300 ft from the mean ocean level.

History and Legend :
