कन्यादातान्नदाता च ज्ञानदाताभयप्रदः। जन्मदो मन्त्रदो ज्येष्ठभ्राता च पितरः स्मृतः॥

पिता के ७ प्रकार है।कन्यादाता ( कन्यादान करने वाला ) अन्न-भोजन देने वाला , ज्ञान देने वाला (गुरु) , भय से रक्षा करने वाला, जन्म देने वाला, मन्त्र देने वाला (आध्यात्मिक विकास के लिए), एवं ज्येष्ठ भाई ये पिता के प्रकार है।

There are 7 types of father. giver of daughter, giver of food, the giver of knowledge (the guru), the giver of fearlessness, the giver of birth, the giver of mantra (for spiritual growth), and the elder brother are the types of father.
