śrīdevyuvācha - deva deva mahādeva sarvajña karuṇānidhe
O Lord of Lords, Mahadeva, the all-knowing ocean of compassion, please protect me.
पाहि मां कृ^िपया शमभो परमाननदशङकर
pāhi māṃ kṛ^ipayā śambho paramānandaśaṅkara
Please grant me your grace, O Shambhu, the embodiment of supreme bliss.
यततु गुहयं शुभतरं सरव-रकŚा-करं परम
yattu guhyaṃ śubhataraṃ sarva-rakŚā-karaṃ param
That which is hidden, auspicious, and the supreme protector of all beings is indeed the mantra.
गरुतमानयेन मनत्रेण सनतुŚयति हि तदवद
garutmānyena mantreṇa santuŚyati hi tadvada
By the power of Garuda, that which is auspicious and hidden, indeed protects.
शरीदेवी ने कहा कि देव देव महादेव! सरवज्ञ करुणानिधे शमभु! परमाननद शङकर! मेरा त्राण कीजिये
śrīdevī ne kahā ki deva deva mahādeva! sarvajña karuṇānidhe śambhu! paramānanda śaṅkara! merā trāṇa kījiye
The Divine Mother said: O Lord of Lords, Mahadeva! O all-knowing ocean of compassion, Shambhu! O embodiment of supreme bliss, please rescue me.

Please show your grace.
यह बतलाीये जो गरुड को सनतोŚपरद, गुहय, शुभद, परम रकŚाकर मनत्र हो

Please explain that which is the great mantra, auspicious, hidden, and protective, given to Garuda.
शरीशिव ुवाछ - साधु देवि महापराज्ञे ज्ञानं वकŚयामि शङकरि
śrīśiva uvācha - sādhu devi mahāprājñe jñānaṃ vakŚyāmi śaṅkari
Shri Shiva replied: O wise goddess, I shall speak of the knowledge of Shankara.
ाशुतारकŚयसय कवछं महामनत्रं वदामयहम
āśutārkŚyasya kavachaṃ mahāmantraṃ vadāmyaham
I declare the great mantra, the armor of the swift, which bestows liberation.
भोग-मोकŚ-दम-ज्ञान-तिमिरानधसय तौलिकम
bhoga-mokŚa-dama-jñāna-timirāndhasya taulikam
It dispels the darkness of bondage, liberation, and knowledge, and is indeed the essence of all.
भुकति मुकति परदं शरेŚठं सिदधिदं सरवसिदधिदम
bhukti mukti pradaṃ śreŚṭhaṃ siddhidaṃ sarvasiddhidam
It grants enjoyment and liberation, is the essence of all achievements, and is the source of all success.
ृ^िŚि-नयास-परभावाशछ शङकरादिति मनत्रवित
ṛ^iŚi-nyāsa-prabhāvāścha śaṅkarāditi mantravit
The mantra, known for its power of protection, is indeed from Shankara.
समाहितेन मनसा जपेनमनत्रोततमोततमम
samāhitena manasā japenmantrottamottamam
With a focused mind, one should chant the supreme mantra with utmost devotion.
महापरज्ञे देवी तुमको साधुवाद देता हूṆ
mahāprajñe devī tumako sādhuvāda detā hūṆ
O great wise goddess, I offer you my salutations.
ब कलयाणकारी ज्ञान को कहता हूṆ
aba kalyāṇakārī jñāna ko kahatā hūṆ
I speak of the auspicious knowledge.
जो ाशुगरुड का महामनत्र है
jo āśugaruḍa kā mahāmantra hai
This is the great mantra of Garuda.
यह ज्ञानियों को भोग, मोकŚ, दम, ज्ञान देने वाला है
yaha ajñāniyoṃ ko bhoga, mokŚa, dama, jñāna dene vālā hai
It grants enjoyment, liberation, and knowledge to the wise.
यह भोग, मोकŚपरद ुततम सिदधिपरदायक ौर सभी सिदधियों को देने वाला है
yaha bhoga, mokŚaprada uttama siddhipradāyaka aura sabhī siddhiyoṃ ko dene vālā hai
This mantra, which grants enjoyment and liberation, is the supreme giver of all accomplishments.
ृ^िŚि नयास परभाव मनत्रविदजानकर ेकागर मन से ुततमोततम मनत्र का जप करे
ṛ^iŚi nyāsa prabhāva mantravidajānakara ekāgra mana se uttamottama mantra kā japa kare
Those who know the mantra of protection should chant the supreme mantra with a focused mind.

This is the armor.
तारकŚयो मे पुरतः पातु गरुडः पातु पृ^िŚठतः
tārkŚyo me purataḥ pātu garuḍaḥ pātu pṛ^iŚṭhataḥ
May Garuda protect me from the front.
सोमः पातु छ मे वामं वैनतेयसतु दकŚिणम
somaḥ pātu cha me vāmaṃ vainateyastu dakŚiṇam
May the Moon protect me from the left, and may the son of Vinata protect me from the right.
शिखायां गरुडः पातु निटिलं तवहिसनधरः
śikhāyāṃ garuḍaḥ pātu niṭilaṃ tvahisandharaḥ
May Garuda protect the crown of my head, and may the one who holds the sun protect my neck.
नासिकागरं विभुः पातु नयने विनतासुतः
nāsikāgraṃ vibhuḥ pātu nayane vinatāsutaḥ
May the Supreme Lord protect my nose, and may the son of Vinata protect my eyes.
तेजिŚठः शरोत्रयोः पातु मुखं सनतापमोछनः
tejiŚṭhaḥ śrotrayoḥ pātu mukhaṃ santāpamochanaḥ
May the one who is radiant protect my ears, and may the remover of sins protect my mouth.
ोŚठयोः पातु नागारिः पातु तालू परजाकरः
oŚṭhayoḥ pātu nāgāriḥ pātu tālū prajākaraḥ
May the serpent protect my cheeks, and may the one who brings forth the universe protect my palate.
जिहवां खगेशवरः पातु दनतानपातवरुणानुजः
jihvāṃ khageśvaraḥ pātu dantānpātvaruṇānujaḥ
May the Lord of birds protect my tongue, and may the son of Varuna protect my throat.
सीरुकशछिबुकं पातु पातु छोगरः कपोलयोः
sīrukaśchibukaṃ pātu pātu chograḥ kapolayoḥ
May the one who is the essence of all protect my chin and my cheeks.
महारिहा गलं पातु छांसयोः कृ^ितविकरमः
mahārihā galaṃ pātu chāṃsayoḥ kṛ^itavikramaḥ
May the great lion protect my throat, and may the one who is skilled in arts protect my voice.
करौ पातु छ रकताकŚः करागरे तु महाबलः
karau pātu cha raktākŚaḥ karāgre tu mahābalaḥ
May the red one protect my hands, and may the mighty one protect my wrists.
ङगुŚठौ छ हरिः पातु तरजनयौ हरिवाहनः
aṅguŚṭhau cha hariḥ pātu tarjanyau harivāhanaḥ
May Hari protect my fingers, and may the one who rides a lion protect my arms.
मधयमे सुमुखः पातु छानामिके त्रिलोछनः
madhyame sumukhaḥ pātu chānāmike trilochanaḥ
May the one with a beautiful face protect my forehead, and may the three-eyed one protect my temples.
कनिŚठिके महोतसाहः सवातमाङगः पातु दोः सतनम
kaniŚṭhike mahotsāhaḥ svātmāṅgaḥ pātu doḥ stanam
May the one of great enthusiasm protect my heart, and may the one who is the essence of all protect my chest.
करपृ^िŚठं कलातीतो नखानयमृ^ित-सनधरः
karapṛ^iŚṭhaṃ kalātīto nakhānyamṛ^ita-sandharaḥ
May the one who transcends all arts protect my back, and may the remover of death protect my nails.
हृ^िदयं पातु सरवज्ञः ककŚे पकŚिविराट ततः
hṛ^idayaṃ pātu sarvajñaḥ kakŚe pakŚivirāṭ tataḥ
May the all-knowing one protect my heart, and may the great bird protect my throat.
ुरःसथलं कलाधारः पातु मे जठरं परम
uraḥsthalaṃ kalādhāraḥ pātu me jaṭharaṃ param
May the one who holds the essence of all arts protect my stomach.
परातपरः कटिं पातु पातु नाभिं हरिपरियः
parātparaḥ kaṭiṃ pātu pātu nābhiṃ haripriyaḥ
May the supreme one protect my navel, and may the beloved of Hari protect my waist.
गुहयं पातु मनोवेगः जघनं खगपदमजः
guhyaṃ pātu manovegaḥ jaghanaṃ khagapadmajaḥ
May the swift mind protect my secret parts, and may the one who is born from a bird protect my thighs.
जितेनदरियो गुदं पातु मेढरं सनतानवरधनः
jitendriyo gudaṃ pātu meḍhraṃ santānavardhanaḥ
May the conqueror of the senses protect my buttocks, and may the one who is the eternal supporter protect my genitals.
ूरू पशुपतिः पातु जानुनी भकतवतसलः
ūrū paśupatiḥ pātu jānunī bhaktavatsalaḥ
May the lord of animals protect my knees, and may the one who is dear to devotees protect my ankles.
जङघे पातु वŚटकारः सरवलोकवशङकरः
jaṅghe pātu vaŚaṭkāraḥ sarvalokavaśaṅkaraḥ
May the one who is the protector of the thighs, the lord of all beings, safeguard me.
गुलफौ नीलशिरः पातु पादपृ^िŚठं मुरारिधृ^िक
gulphau nīlaśiraḥ pātu pādapṛ^iŚṭhaṃ murāridhṛ^ik
May the blue-headed one, the bearer of the Murari, protect my ankles and the soles of my feet.
धीरः पादतलं पातु छाङगुलीः परमनत्रतुत
dhīraḥ pādatalaṃ pātu chāṅgulīḥ paramantratut
May the courageous one protect the soles of my feet and my toes, who is the liberator from all troubles.
रोमकूपाणि मे पातु मनत्र-बनधिविमोछकः
romakūpāṇi me pātu mantra-bandhivimochakaḥ
May the one who frees from bondage protect my hair follicles.
सवाहाकारसतवछं पातु रुधिरं वेदपारगः
svāhākārastvachaṃ pātu rudhiraṃ vedapāragaḥ
May the one who is the essence of sacrifice protect my blood, the knower of the Vedas.
साकŚिकः पातु मे मांसं मेदांसि पातु यज्ञभुक
sākŚikaḥ pātu me māṃsaṃ medāṃsi pātu yajñabhuk
May the witness protect my flesh, and may the one who enjoys offerings protect my fat.
सामगः पातु मे छासथि शुकरं तु हविवरधनः
sāmagaḥ pātu me chāsthi śukraṃ tu havivardhanaḥ
May the one who is beautiful protect my marrow, and may the one who grants devotion protect my intellect.
शोभनः पातु मे मजजां बुदधिं भकतवरपरदः
śobhanaḥ pātu me majjāṃ buddhiṃ bhaktavarapradaḥ
May the bird protect my root chakra, the one who establishes all.
मूलाधारं खगः पातु सवाधिŚठानमथातमवित
mūlādhāraṃ khagaḥ pātu svādhiŚṭhānamathātmavit
May the one who resides in the Manipura chakra protect my vital energy and the sound of the heart.
मणिपूरकमतयुगरः कलधी पातवनाहतम
maṇipūrakamatyugraḥ kaladhī pātvanāhatam
May the one who is pure protect my knowledge and the one who is the master of the sacred circle.
विशुदधिमपरः पातु छाज्ञामाखणडलपरियः
viśuddhimaparaḥ pātu chājñāmākhaṇḍalapriyaḥ
May the swift star, the great Bhima, who holds the universe, protect me.
दरुततारकŚयो महाभीमो बरहमरनधरं स पातु मे
drutatārkŚyo mahābhīmo brahmarandhraṃ sa pātu me
May the one who is the serpent of the ocean protect me from the calamities of the Kali age.
ैनदरं फणिभुजः पातु ागनेयं कलिदोŚभित
aindraṃ phaṇibhujaḥ pātu āgneyaṃ kalidoŚabhit
May the light-footed one protect me from the southern direction, the conqueror of the celestial enemies.
यामयं लघुगतिः पातु नैरृ^ितं सुरवैरिजित
yāmyaṃ laghugatiḥ pātu nairṛ^itaṃ suravairijit
May the lord of the world protect the western direction, and may the one with pure limbs protect the winds.
पशछिमं पातु लोकेशो धौतोरुः पातु मारुतम
paśchimaṃ pātu lokeśo dhautoruḥ pātu mārutam
May the one who is known as the gem of Kashi protect me, the one who brings forth auspiciousness.
गुलिकाशीति कौवेरं पातु छैशानयमौजसः
gulikāśīti kauveraṃ pātu chaiśānyamaujasaḥ
May the one who is the essence of dance and song protect me always.
ूरधवं पातु सदाननद-गीत-नृ^ितयपरियसतथा
ūrdhvaṃ pātu sadānanda-gīta-nṛ^ityapriyastathā
May Garuda protect the netherworld and the body that holds poison.
गरुडः पातु पातालं गरलाशी तनुं तथा
garuḍaḥ pātu pātālaṃ garalāśī tanuṃ tathā
May wealth and grains protect me, the one who holds the star and the enemy of the demons.
धन धानयादिकं पातु तारकŚयो राकŚस-वैरिधृ^िक
dhana dhānyādikaṃ pātu tārkŚyo rākŚasa-vairidhṛ^ik
May the terrifying one protect the maidens, the one who bears the burden of countless eyes.
भीŚणः कनयकाः पातु भारयामगनिकणेकŚणः
bhīŚaṇaḥ kanyakāḥ pātu bhāryāmagnikaṇekŚaṇaḥ
May the auspicious goddess protect the young maidens, who are the embodiment of the divine fire.
तवरितः पातु छातमानं धरम-करम-करतूततमः
tvaritaḥ pātu chātmānaṃ dharma-karma-kratūttamaḥ
May the swift one protect me, the supreme doer of righteousness.
पुत्रानायुŚकरः पातु वंशं रिपुनिŚूदनः
putrānāyuŚkaraḥ pātu vaṃśaṃ ripuniŚūdanaḥ
May the one who grants sons protect the lineage, the destroyer of enemies.
सङगरामे विजयः पातु मागरं शत्रुविमरदनः
saṅgrāme vijayaḥ pātu māgraṃ śatruvimardanaḥ
May victory in battles protect me, the one who destroys foes.
सिदधिं पातु महादेवो भगवानभुजगाशनः
siddhiṃ pātu mahādevo bhagavānbhujagāśanaḥ
May the great Lord Shiva, the one who resides on serpents, protect my accomplishments.
सततं पातु मां शरेŚठं सवसतिदः साधकातमवान
satataṃ pātu māṃ śreŚṭhaṃ svastidaḥ sādhakātmavān
May the one who grants all success protect me, the supreme practitioner.
जागरतसवपनसुŚुपतौ छ कुङकुमारुणवकŚसः
jāgratsvapnasuŚuptau cha kuṅkumāruṇavakŚasaḥ
In both waking and dreaming states, may the one who is like a young child protect me.
सरव-समपतपरदः पातु सतुतिरमनत्रसय सिदधिŚु
sarva-sampatpradaḥ pātu stutirmantrasya siddhiŚu
May the one who grants all wealth protect me, the one who is praised and fearless.
िदं तु तारकŚयकवछं पुरुŚारथपरदं परम
idaṃ tu tārkŚyakavachaṃ puruŚārthapradaṃ param
This indeed is the supreme shield that grants liberation, the one who bestows the essence of heroes.
सवसतिदं पुत्रदं सरवरकŚाकरमनुततमम
svastidaṃ putradaṃ sarvarakŚākaramanuttamam
In the battle, may I be protected from fear, as a king's son in assembly.
युदधे वहनिभये छैव राज-छोर-समागमे
yuddhe vahnibhaye chaiva rāja-chora-samāgame
In the gathering of great beings, may my shield protect me, O Shiva.
महाभूतारिसङघटटे निजपेत कवछं शिवे
mahābhūtārisaṅghaṭṭe nijapet kavachaṃ śive
By remembrance of the divine, may I be protected from the fiery afflictions.
समरणादेव नशयनति परछणडानलतूलवत
smaraṇādeva naśyanti prachaṇḍānalatūlavat
This shield, known as the starry one, is the supreme source of merit.
ाशुतारकŚयाखय-कवछं परमं पुणयवरधनम
āśutārkŚyākhya-kavachaṃ paramaṃ puṇyavardhanam
The great secret, the great mantra, is the one that captivates the mind.
महागुहयं महामनत्रं महामोहन-सणज्ञकम
mahāguhyaṃ mahāmantraṃ mahāmohana-saṇjñakam
The mantra that embodies all deities and wields all weapons is the supreme one.
सरवदेवमयं मनत्रं सरवायुधकरं परम
sarvadevamayaṃ mantraṃ sarvāyudhakaraṃ param
The one that calms all forms of death and grants all auspiciousness is the supreme boon.
सरवमृ^ितयु-परशमनं सरवंसौभागय-वरधनम
sarvamṛ^ityu-praśamanaṃ sarvaṃsaubhāgya-vardhanam
The pure one, the supreme source of longevity, liberates from the bonds of sin.
पावनं परमायुŚयं पाप-पाश-परमोछनम
pāvanaṃ paramāyuŚyaṃ pāpa-pāśa-pramochanam
By the great sages and the Yama, may I be protected from all forms of death.
मुनीशवरैशछ यमिभिःरनाभिजादयमरैः परैः
munīśvaraiścha yamibhiḥrnābhijādyamaraiḥ paraiḥ
This Garuda shield is the supreme giver of strength and valor.
यह गरुड कवछ परम पुरुŚारथ परदायक है
yaha garuḍa kavacha parama puruŚārtha pradāyaka hai
This most excellent mantra grants all success and bestows sons, protecting in every way.
यह ुततम मनत्र सवसतिपरद, पुत्रपरदायक सभी परकार से रकŚाकारक है
yaha uttama mantra svastiprada, putrapradāyaka sabhī prakāra se rakŚākāraka hai
This mantra, which is supremely powerful, provides protection to all who seek it, granting sons and safeguarding in every possible way.
यह युदध में गनिभय में राजा, छोर के भय से बछाता है
yaha yuddha meṃ agnibhaya meṃ rājā, chora ke bhaya se bachātā hai
In battle, the king protects himself from fear, like a calf from the fear of a tiger.
शिव महाभूत शत्रूसङघटट में होने पर िस कवछ का जाप करे
śiva mahābhūta śatrūsaṅghaṭṭa meṃ hone para isa kavacha kā jāpa kare
When faced with the great elements, one should chant the protective mantra of Shiva.
िसके समरण से सभी परछणड गनि में रूीके समान जल जाते हैं
isake smaraṇa se sabhī prachaṇḍa agni meṃ rūīke samāna jala jāte haiṃ
By remembering Him, all obstacles are burned away like straw in fire.
ाशुतारकŚय नामक कवछ परम पुणयवरधन है
āśutārkŚya nāmaka kavacha parama puṇyavardhana hai
The protective shield known as 'Ashutārakṣya' is a source of great merit.
यह महामनत्र महागुहय ौर महामोहन है
yaha mahāmantra mahāguhya aura mahāmohana hai
This great mantra is highly secret and immensely enchanting.
यह सरवदेवमय सभीायुधों का परमकारक है
yaha sarvadevamaya sabhīāyudhoṃ kā paramakāraka hai
It is the supreme cause of all divine weapons and is pervaded by all deities.
सभी मृ^ितयुों का विनाशक ौर सभी सौभागयों का वरधक है
sabhī mṛ^ityuoṃ kā vināśaka aura sabhī saubhāgyoṃ kā vardhaka hai
It destroys all forms of death and enhances all auspiciousness.
पवित्र परमायु परदायक ौर पाप-पाश कानाशक है
pavitra paramāyu pradāyaka aura pāpa-pāśa kānāśaka hai
It grants purity and longevity, and destroys the bonds of sin.
मुनीशवरों, देवताों गुहयक सुरशरेŚठों दवारा सतुतय महा ुजजवल है
munīśvaroṃ, devatāoṃ guhyaka suraśreŚṭhoṃ dvārā stutya mahā ujjvala hai
O great sages and deities, this mantra is praised by the best of celestial beings.
गुहयकैशछ सुरशरेŚठैः सतूयमानं महोजजवलम
guhyakaiścha suraśreŚṭhaiḥ stūyamānaṃ mahojjvalam
The mantra is glorified by the best of celestial beings and shines brilliantly.
त्रिकालं परजपेद धयानपूरवकं कवछं शिवे
trikālaṃ prajaped dhyānapūrvakaṃ kavachaṃ śive
One who meditates on this shield of Shiva at all three times (past, present, future) will attain all accomplishments.
सहसा सरवसिदधिः सयादवागविभूतिरविशेŚतः
sahasā sarvasiddhiḥ syādvāgvibhūtirviśeŚataḥ
Suddenly, all desires are fulfilled, and one achieves the glory of divine wealth.
मुनीनामपि समपूजयः कवछेनावृ^ितः पुमान
munīnāmapi sampūjyaḥ kavachenāvṛ^itaḥ pumān
Even the sages worship the man protected by this shield.
छतुरदशसु लोकेŚु सञछरेनमारवततु सः
chaturdaśasu lokeŚu sañcharenmāravattu saḥ
He roams through the fourteen worlds like Kamadeva (the god of love).
नेनैव तु कायेन भूतले बहुसमपदम
anenaiva tu kāyena bhūtale bahusampadam
On earth, he attains great wealth through this body.
छिरं परापय तु देहानते विŚणुसायुजयमापनुयात
chiraṃ prāpya tu dehānte viŚṇusāyujyamāpnuyāt
In the morning, noon, and evening, whoever chants this shield with meditation will suddenly attain all powers and the glory of divine speech.
परातः, मधयाहन ौर शाम तीनों कालों में जो धयान सहित िस कवछ को जपता है, ुसे छानक सभी सिदधियों के साथ विशेŚ वाणी कावैभव परापत होता है
prātaḥ, madhyāhna aura śāma tīnoṃ kāloṃ meṃ jo dhyāna sahita isa kavacha ko japatā hai, use achānaka sabhī siddhiyoṃ ke sātha viśeŚa vāṇī kāvaibhava prāpta hotā hai
Those who bear the shield of Shiva are also worshipped by the sages.
िस कवछ धारी पुरुŚ को मुनि लोग भी पूजते हैं
isa kavacha dhārī puruŚa ko muni loga bhī pūjate haiṃ
In all fourteen worlds, he moves about like Kamadeva.
छौदहों भुवनों में वह कामदेव के समान विछरण करता है
chaudahoṃ bhuvanoṃ meṃ vaha kāmadeva ke samāna vicharaṇa karatā hai
On this earth, he attains great wealth through this body.
पृ^िथवी पर िसी शरीर से बहुत समपदा परापत करता है
pṛ^ithvī para isī śarīra se bahuta sampadā prāpta karatā hai
The earth bestows abundant wealth upon those who are devoted and righteous in their actions.
िस समपदा का भोग बहुत दिनों तक करने के बाद देहानत होने पर विŚणु का सायुजय . परापत करता है
isa sampadā kā bhoga bahuta dinoṃ taka karane ke bāda dehānta hone para viŚṇu kā sāyujya . prāpta karatā hai
After enjoying the pleasures of wealth for many days, upon death, one attains union with Vishnu.
शिखि-ृ^ितु-वसु-कोणं छाŚटपत्रं भुवं छ
śikhi-ṛ^itu-vasu-koṇaṃ chāŚṭapatraṃ bhuvaṃ cha
The peak of the mountain, adorned with the feathers of a peacock, is the abode of the earth.
करतु-शत-शशिछागनिं भासकर-वयोमकं छ
kratu-śata-śaśichāgniṃ bhāskara-vyomakaṃ cha
The sun, shining brightly, illuminates the vast sky.
सकलमनिलयुकतं तदबिहिः साधयशकतिम
sakalamanilayuktaṃ tadbihiḥ sādhyaśaktim
That which is filled with all beings, is the source of all powers.
धृ^ित-मृ^ित-सुत-वनधया-पुत्रदं तारकŚयमेतत
dhṛ^ita-mṛ^ita-suta-vandhyā-putradaṃ tārkŚyametat
This is the star that grants sons, born of the union of courage and death.
िदं छकरं महाखयातं सरववकत्रोकतमुततमम
idaṃ chakraṃ mahākhyātaṃ sarvavaktroktamuttamam
The great wheel, known for its vastness, is the highest among all.
महागुहयं महाभीमं महासिदधिकरं परम
mahāguhyaṃ mahābhīmaṃ mahāsiddhikaraṃ param
Beginning on the day of the pig, worship and chant for three days.
शुकरवासरमारभय पूजय जपतवा दिनत्रयम
śukravāsaramārabhya pūjya japtvā dinatrayam
One should chant the sacred mantra a hundred times with the protective armor.
नेन कवछेनैव जपेदŚटोततरं शतम
anena kavachenaiva japedaŚṭottaraṃ śatam
By performing the homa with the sacred fire, one can achieve the desired results.
तजजलेनाभिŚिञछयाथ होमं कृ^ितवा हि रुकŚकैः
tajjalenābhiŚiñchyātha homaṃ kṛ^itvā hi rukŚakaiḥ
O Devi, those who immerse themselves in water are blessed with the desire for sons.
निमजजतां जले देवि बनधयेतपुत्रकामिनाम
nimajjatāṃ jale devi bandhayetputrakāminām

One should not be disturbed by the river, nor should one be afraid of the serpent; the wise should remain steadfast.
