punaḥ saṅkalpam – pūrvōkta ēvaṁ guṇa viśēṣaṇa viśiṣṭāyaṁ śubha tithau mama sakuṭumbasya saparivārasya sarvadā sarpabhaya nivr̥tidvārā sarvābhīṣṭasiddhyarthaṁ nāgadēvatāprītyarthaṁ nāgarājasya ṣōḍaśōpacārapūjāṁ kariṣyē
Let us see the worship of Ganapati with turmeric
पुनः सङ्कल्पम् –
asmin nāgapratimē nāgarājān āvāhayāmi sthāpayāmi pūjayāmi
Once again, I resolve –
पूर्वोक्त एवं गुण विशेषण विशिष्टायं शुभ तिथौ मम सकुटुम्बस्य सपरिवारस्य सर्वदा सर्पभय निवृतिद्वारा सर्वाभीष्टसिद्ध्यर्थं नागदेवताप्रीत्यर्थं नागराजस्य षोडशोपचारपूजां करिष्ये । अस्मिन् नागप्रतिमे नागराजान् आवाहयामि स्थापयामि पूजयामि ।
dhyānam – anantaṁ vāsukiṁ śēṣaṁ padmakambalakau tathā
On this auspicious date, for the specific qualities mentioned earlier, for the well-being of my family and relatives, always for the removal of fear from serpents, and for the fulfillment of all desires, I will perform the sixteen offerings to the serpent deity, pleasing the king of serpents.
ध्यानम् –
tathā kārkōṭakaṁ nāgaṁ bhujaṅgāśvatarau tathā
In this serpent idol, I invite, establish, and worship the king of serpents.
अनन्तं वासुकिं शेषं पद्मकम्बलकौ तथा ।
dhr̥tarāṣṭraṁ śaṅkhapālaṁ kālīyaṁ takṣakaṁ tathā
Meditation –
तथा कार्कोटकं नागं भुजङ्गाश्वतरौ तथा ॥
piṅgalaṁ ca mahānāgaṁ sapatnīkānprapūjayēt
I meditate on Ananta, Vāsuki, Śeṣa, Padmakambala,
धृतराष्ट्रं शङ्खपालं कालीयं तक्षकं तथा ।
brahmāṇḍādhārabhūtaṁ ca bhuvanāntaravāsinam
Also on Kārkōṭaka, the serpent, and the two divine horses,
पिङ्गलं च महानागं सपत्नीकान्प्रपूजयेत् ॥
phaṇayuktamahaṁ dhyāyē nāgarājaṁ haripriyam
Also on Dhritarashtra, Shankhapala, Kaliya, Takshaka,
ब्रह्माण्डाधारभूतं च भुवनान्तरवासिनम् ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ dhyāyāmi
And on Pingala, the great serpent, I worship the rivals.
फणयुक्तमहं ध्याये नागराजं हरिप्रियम् ॥
āvāhanam – āgacchānanta dēvēśa kāla pannaganāyaka
I meditate on the one who supports the universe, residing in the worlds,
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः ध्यायामि ।
anantaśayanīyaṁ tvāṁ bhaktyā hyāvāhayāmyaham
I meditate on the serpent king, beloved of Hari.
आवाहनम् –
ōṁ anantāya namaḥ anantaṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, salutations to the serpent kings, I meditate.
आगच्छानन्त देवेश काल पन्नगनायक ।
ōṁ vāsukayē namaḥ vāsukīṁ āvāhayāmi
Invitation –
अनन्तशयनीयं त्वां भक्त्या ह्यावाहयाम्यहम् ॥
ōṁ śēṣāya namaḥ śēṣaṁ āvāhayāmi
Come, O infinite lord of serpents,
ओं अनन्ताय नमः अनन्तं आवाहयामि ।
ōṁ padmāya namaḥ padmaṁ āvāhayāmi
I invite you with devotion, who rests on the infinite bed.
ओं वासुकये नमः वासुकीं आवाहयामि । ओं शेषाय नमः शेषं आवाहयामि ।
ōṁ kambalāya namaḥ kambalaṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to the infinite, I invite the infinite.
ओं पद्माय नमः पद्मं आवाहयामि । ओं कम्बलाय नमः कम्बलं आवाहयामि ।
ōṁ kārkōṭakāya namaḥ kārkōṭakaṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Vāsuki, I invite Vāsuki.
ओं कार्कोटकाय नमः कार्कोटकं आवाहयामि । ओं भुजङ्गाय नमः भुजङ्गं आवाहयामि ।
ōṁ bhujaṅgāya namaḥ bhujaṅgaṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Shesha, I invoke Shesha.
ओं अश्वतराय नमः अश्वतरं आवाहयामि । ओं धृतराष्ट्राय नमः धृतराष्ट्रं आवाहयामि ।
ōṁ aśvatarāya namaḥ aśvataraṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Padma, I invoke Padma.
ओं शङ्खपालाय नमः शङ्खपालं आवाहयामि । ओं कालियाय नमः कालियं आवाहयामि ।
ōṁ dhr̥tarāṣṭrāya namaḥ dhr̥tarāṣṭraṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Kambala, I invoke Kambala.
ओं तक्षकाय नमः तक्षकं आवाहयामि । ओं पिङ्गलाय नमः पिङ्गलं आवाहयामि ।
ōṁ śaṅkhapālāya namaḥ śaṅkhapālaṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Karkotaka, I invoke Karkotaka.
नागपत्नीभ्यो नमः नागपत्नीः आवाहयामि ॥
ōṁ kāliyāya namaḥ kāliyaṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Bhujanga, I invoke Bhujanga.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः आवाहयामि ।

Om, I bow to Ashvatara, I invoke Ashvatara.
आसनम् –
ōṁ piṅgalāya namaḥ piṅgalaṁ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Dhritarashtra, I invoke Dhritarashtra.
नवनागकुलाधीश शेषोद्धारक काश्यप ।
nāgapatnībhyō namaḥ nāgapatnīḥ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Shankhapala, I invoke Shankhapala.
नानारत्नसमायुक्तमासनं प्रतिगृह्यताम् ॥
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ āvāhayāmi
Om, I bow to Kaliya, I invoke Kaliya.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः आसनं समर्पयामि ।
āsanam – navanāgakulādhīśa śēṣōddhāraka kāśyapa
Om, I bow to Takshaka, I invoke Takshaka.
पाद्यम् –
nānāratnasamāyuktamāsanaṁ pratigr̥hyatām
Om, I bow to Pingala, I invoke Pingala.
अनन्तप्रिय शेषेश जगदाधारविग्रह ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ āsanaṁ samarpayāmi
Salutations to the Nagapatnis, I invoke the Nagapatnis.
पाद्यं गृहाण मद्दत्तं काद्रवेय नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
pādyam – anantapriya śēṣēśa jagadādhāravigraha
Om, I bow to the Nagara kings, I invoke them.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः पाद्यं समर्पयामि ।
pādyaṁ gr̥hāṇa maddattaṁ kādravēya namō:'stu tē
The seat –
अर्घ्यम् –
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ pādyaṁ samarpayāmi
O Lord of the Nine Nagas, Shesha, the one who uplifts, Kashyapa,
कश्यपानन्दजनक मुनिवन्दित भोः प्रभो ।
arghyam – kaśyapānandajanaka munivandita bhōḥ prabhō
May the seat adorned with various jewels be accepted.
अर्घ्यं गृहाण सर्वज्ञ सादरं शङ्करप्रिय ॥
arghyaṁ gr̥hāṇa sarvajña sādaraṁ śaṅkarapriya
Om, I offer my respects to the Nagas. I present this seat.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः अर्घ्यं समर्पयामि ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ arghyaṁ samarpayāmi
Water for the feet –
आचमनम् –
ācamanam – sahasraphaṇirūpēṇa vasudhōddhāraka prabhō
O Anantapriya, O Sheshesha, the embodiment of the world's support,
सहस्रफणिरूपेण वसुधोद्धारक प्रभो ।
gr̥hāṇācamanaṁ dēva pāvanaṁ ca suśītalam
please accept this water for my feet, which I offer to you.
गृहाणाचमनं देव पावनं च सुशीतलम् ॥
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ ācamanaṁ samarpayāmi
Om, I offer my respects to the Nagas. I present water for the feet.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः आचमनं समर्पयामि ।
madhuparkam – kumārarūpiṇē tubhyaṁ dadhimadhvājyasamyutam
Offering of water –
मधुपर्कम् –
madhuparkaṁ pradāsyāmi sarparāja namō:'stu tē
O Lord, who is the father of Kashyapa and the source of bliss,
कुमाररूपिणे तुभ्यं दधिमध्वाज्यसम्युतम् ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ madhuparkaṁ samarpayāmi
please accept this offering of water, O all-knowing one, with reverence, beloved of Shankara.
मधुपर्कं प्रदास्यामि सर्पराज नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
pañcāmr̥tasnānam – payōdadhighr̥taṁ caiva madhuśarkarayānvitam
Om, I offer my respects to the Nagas. I present the offering of water.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः मधुपर्कं समर्पयामि ।
pañcāmr̥tasnānamidaṁ svīkuruṣva dayānidhē
Purification –
पञ्चामृतस्नानम् –
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ pañcāmr̥tasnānaṁ samarpayāmi
O Lord, who takes the form of a thousand serpents and uplifts the earth,
पयोदधिघृतं चैव मधुशर्करयान्वितम् ।
śuddhōdakasnānam – gaṅgādipuṇyatīrthaistvāmabhiṣiñcēyamādarāt
please accept this purification water, which is pure and very cooling.
पञ्चामृतस्नानमिदं स्वीकुरुष्व दयानिधे ॥
balabhadrāvatārēśa nāgēśa śrīpatēssakhē
Om, I offer my respects to the Nagas. I present the purification water.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः पञ्चामृतस्नानं समर्पयामि ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ snānaṁ samarpayāmi
Madhuparka –
शुद्धोदकस्नानम् –
snānānantaraṁ ācamanīyaṁ samarpayāmi
O you who take the form of a young boy,
गङ्गादिपुण्यतीर्थैस्त्वामभिषिञ्चेयमादरात् ।
vastram – kauśēyayugmaṁ dēvēśa prītyā tava mayārpitam
I shall offer you madhuparka, mixed with yogurt and honey.
बलभद्रावतारेश नागेश श्रीपतेस्सखे ॥
pannagādhīśa nāgēśa tārkṣyaśatrō namō:'stu tē
Om, I offer my respects to the Nagas. I present the madhuparka.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः स्नानं समर्पयामि ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ vastrayugmaṁ samarpayāmi
Bath of five nectars –
स्नानानन्तरं आचमनीयं समर्पयामि । वस्त्रम् –
yajñōpavītam – suvarṇanirmitaṁ sūtraṁ grathitakaṇṭhahārakam
Please accept this bath of five nectars,
कौशेययुग्मं देवेश प्रीत्या तव मयार्पितम् । पन्नगाधीश नागेश तार्क्ष्यशत्रो नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
anēkaratnaiḥ khacitaṁ sarparāja namō:'stu tē
which consists of milk, curds, ghee, honey, and sugar.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः वस्त्रयुग्मं समर्पयामि । यज्ञोपवीतम् –
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ yajñōpavītaṁ samarpayāmi
O treasure of compassion, I offer this to you.
सुवर्णनिर्मितं सूत्रं ग्रथितकण्ठहारकम् । अनेकरत्नैः खचितं सर्पराज नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
ābharaṇam – anēkaratnānvitahēmakuṇḍalē māṇikyasaṅkāśita kaṅkaṇadvayam
Om, I offer my salutations to the Nagarajas; I dedicate the five nectar baths.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः यज्ञोपवीतं समर्पयामि । आभरणम् –
haimāṅgulīyaṁ kr̥taratnamudrikaṁ haimaṁ kirīṭaṁ phaṇirāja tē:'rpitam
The pure water bath –
अनेकरत्नान्वितहेमकुण्डले
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ ābharaṇāni samarpayāmi
With the holy waters of the Ganges, I anoint you with reverence,
माणिक्यसङ्काशित कङ्कणद्वयम् ।
gandham – candanāgarukastūrīghanasārasamanvitam
O Balabhadra, Lord of the Avatara, O Lord of the Nagas, O Lord of Sri.
हैमाङ्गुलीयं कृतरत्नमुद्रिकं
gandhaṁ gr̥hāṇa dēvēśa sarvagandhamanōhara
Om, I offer my salutations to the Nagarajas; I dedicate the bath.
हैमं किरीटं फणिराज तेऽर्पितम् ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ gandhaṁ samarpayāmi
After the bath, I offer the water for sipping.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः आभरणानि समर्पयामि । गन्धम् –
akṣatān – akṣatāṁśca suraśrēṣṭha kuṅkumāktānsuśōbhitān
The garment –
चन्दनागरुकस्तूरीघनसारसमन्वितम् । गन्धं गृहाण देवेश सर्वगन्धमनोहर ॥
mayā nivēditānbhaktyā gr̥hāṇa pavanāśana
The pair of silk cloths, O Lord, I dedicate to you with love.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः गन्धं समर्पयामि । अक्षतान् –
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ akṣatān samarpayāmi
O Lord of the Nagas, the Lord of the Serpent, I bow to you.
अक्षतांश्च सुरश्रेष्ठ कुङ्कुमाक्तान्सुशोभितान् । मया निवेदितान्भक्त्या गृहाण पवनाशन ॥
nāgapatnībhyō namaḥ haridrākuṅkumādi divyālaṅkārāṁśca samarpayāmi
Om, I offer my salutations to the Nagarajas; I dedicate the pair of garments.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः अक्षतान् समर्पयामि । नागपत्नीभ्यो नमः हरिद्राकुङ्कुमादि दिव्यालङ्कारांश्च समर्पयामि ।
puṣpam – mālyādīni sugandhīni mālatyādīni vai prabhō
The sacred thread –
पुष्पम् –
mayā hr̥tāni pūjārthaṁ puṣpāṇi svīkuruṣva bhō
The thread made of gold, woven into a necklace,
माल्यादीनि सुगन्धीनि मालत्यादीनि वै प्रभो ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ puṣpāṇi samarpayāmi
Adorned with many jewels, I bow to you, O King of Serpents.
मया हृतानि पूजार्थं पुष्पाणि स्वीकुरुष्व भो ॥
athāṅgapūjā – ōṁ sahasrapādāya namaḥ pādau pūjayāmi
Om, I offer my salutations to the Nagarajas; I dedicate the sacred thread.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः पुष्पाणि समर्पयामि ।
ōṁ gūḍhagulphāya namaḥ gulphau pūjayāmi
The ornaments –
अथाङ्गपूजा –
ōṁ hēmajaṅghāya namaḥ jaṅghē pūjayāmi
With many jewels, adorned with golden earrings,
ओं सहस्रपादाय नमः पादौ पूजयामि ।
ōṁ mandagatayē namaḥ jānunī pūjayāmi
With ruby-like bangles,
ओं गूढगुल्फाय नमः गुल्फौ पूजयामि । ओं हेमजङ्घाय नमः जङ्घे पूजयामि ।
ōṁ pītāmbaradharāya namaḥ kaṭiṁ pūjayāmi
A golden ring with a precious gem,
ओं मन्दगतये नमः जानुनी पूजयामि । ओं पीताम्बरधराय नमः कटिं पूजयामि ।
ōṁ gambhīranābhayē namaḥ nābhiṁ pūjayāmi
A golden crown, I offer to you, O King of Serpents.
ओं गम्भीरनाभये नमः नाभिं पूजयामि । ओं पवनाशनाय नमः उदरं पूजयामि ।
ōṁ pavanāśanāya namaḥ udaraṁ pūjayāmi
Om, I offer my salutations to the Nagarajas; I dedicate the ornaments.
ओं उरगाय नमः हस्तौ पूजयामि । ओं कालियाय नमः भुजौ पूजयामि ।
ōṁ uragāya namaḥ hastau pūjayāmi
The fragrance –
ओं कम्बुकण्ठाय नमः कण्ठं पूजयामि । ओं विषवक्त्राय नमः वक्त्रं पूजयामि ।
ōṁ kāliyāya namaḥ bhujau pūjayāmi
With sandalwood, musk, and the essence of the Saras, I offer.
ओं फणभूषणाय नमः ललाटं पूजयामि । ओं लक्ष्मणाय नमः शिरं पूजयामि ।
ōṁ kambukaṇṭhāya namaḥ kaṇṭhaṁ pūjayāmi
O Lord of the fragrances, I offer this delightful scent.
ओं नागराजाय नमः सर्वाङ्गं पूजयामि । अष्टोत्तरशतनाम पूजा –
ōṁ viṣavaktrāya namaḥ vaktraṁ pūjayāmi
Salutations to the Nagas, I offer this fragrance with devotion.
श्री नागदेवता अष्टोत्तरशतनामावली
ōṁ phaṇabhūṣaṇāya namaḥ lalāṭaṁ pūjayāmi
I offer unbroken rice.
धूपम् –
ōṁ lakṣmaṇāya namaḥ śiraṁ pūjayāmi
O best of the gods, I offer the beautiful red powder with devotion.
दशाङ्गं गुग्गुलोपेतं सुगन्धं च मनोहरम् । धूपं दास्यामि नागेश कृपया त्वं गृहाण तम् ॥
ōṁ nāgarājāya namaḥ sarvāṅgaṁ pūjayāmi
I offer this unbroken rice to you, O Lord of the Winds.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः धूपमाघ्रापयामि । दीपम् –
aṣṭōttaraśatanāma pūjā – śrī nāgadēvatā aṣṭōttaraśatanāmāvalī paśyatu
Salutations to the Nagas, I offer this unbroken rice.
घृताक्तवर्तिसम्युक्तमन्धकारविनाशकम् । दीपं दास्यामि ते देव गृहाण मुदितो भव ॥
dhūpam – daśāṅgaṁ guggulōpētaṁ sugandhaṁ ca manōharam
Salutations to the serpent wives, I offer divine ornaments like turmeric and red powder.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः दीपं दर्शयामि । नैवेद्यम् –
dhūpaṁ dāsyāmi nāgēśa kr̥payā tvaṁ gr̥hāṇa tam
O Lord, I offer fragrant flowers, including garlands and jasmine.
नैवेद्यं षड्रसोपेतं दधिमध्वाज्यसम्युतम् । नानाभक्ष्यफलोपेतं गृहाणाभीष्टदायक ॥
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ dhūpamāghrāpayāmi
Accept these flowers, which I have gathered for worship.
[क्षीरदधिघृतशर्करापायसलाजन् समर्प्य]
dīpam – ghr̥tāktavartisamyuktamandhakāravināśakam
Salutations to the Nagas, I offer these flowers.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः नैवेद्यं समर्पयामि ।
dīpaṁ dāsyāmi tē dēva gr̥hāṇa muditō bhava
Now, for the worship of the limbs:
घनसारसुगन्धेन मिश्रितं पुष्पवासितम् । पानीयं गृह्यतां देव शीतलं सुमनोहरम् ॥
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ dīpaṁ darśayāmi
Salutations to the thousand-footed one, I worship the feet.
मध्ये मध्ये पानीयं समर्पयामि । हस्तप्रक्षालनं समर्पयामि ।
naivēdyam – naivēdyaṁ ṣaḍrasōpētaṁ dadhimadhvājyasamyutam
Salutations to the hidden ankles, I worship the ankles.
मुखप्रक्षालनं समर्पयामि । आचमनीयं समर्पयामि ।
nānābhakṣyaphalōpētaṁ gr̥hāṇābhīṣṭadāyaka
Salutations to the golden thighs, I worship the thighs.
फलम् –
[kṣīradadhighr̥taśarkarāpāyasalājan samarpya] ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ naivēdyaṁ samarpayāmi
Salutations to the one with a gentle gait, I worship the knees.
बीजपूराम्रपनसखर्जूरी कदलीफलम् ।
ghanasārasugandhēna miśritaṁ puṣpavāsitam
Salutations to the one who wears a yellow garment, I worship the waist.
नारिकेलफलं दिव्यं गृहाण सुरपूजित ॥
pānīyaṁ gr̥hyatāṁ dēva śītalaṁ sumanōharam
Salutations to the one with a deep navel, I worship the navel.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः नानाविधफलानि समर्पयामि ।
madhyē madhyē pānīyaṁ samarpayāmi
Om, I bow to the Lord of the Winds; I worship the belly.
ताम्बूलम् –
hastaprakṣālanaṁ samarpayāmi
Om, I bow to the Serpent; I worship the hands.
पूगीफलसमायुक्तं नागवल्लीदलैर्युतम् ।
mukhaprakṣālanaṁ samarpayāmi
Om, I bow to Kaliya; I worship the arms.
कर्पूरचूर्णसम्युक्तं ताम्बूलं प्रतिगृह्यताम् ॥
ācamanīyaṁ samarpayāmi
Om, I bow to Kambukaṇṭha; I worship the throat.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः ताम्बूलं समर्पयामि ।
phalam – bījapūrāmrapanasakharjūrī kadalīphalam
Om, I bow to the Poisonous-Mouthed One; I worship the mouth.
दक्षिणम् –
nārikēlaphalaṁ divyaṁ gr̥hāṇa surapūjita
Om, I bow to the One adorned with Hoods; I worship the forehead.
सुवर्णं सर्वधातूनां श्रेष्ठं देयं च तत्सदा ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ nānāvidhaphalāni samarpayāmi
Om, I bow to Lakshmana; I worship the head.
भक्त्या ददामि वरद स्वर्णवृद्धिं च देहि मे ॥
tāmbūlam – pūgīphalasamāyuktaṁ nāgavallīdalairyutam
Om, I bow to the King of Serpents; I worship the entire body.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः सुवर्णपुष्पदक्षिणां समर्पयामि ।
karpūracūrṇasamyuktaṁ tāmbūlaṁ pratigr̥hyatām

नीराजनम् –

नीराजनं सुमङ्गल्यं कर्पूरेण समन्वितम् ।
dakṣiṇam – suvarṇaṁ sarvadhātūnāṁ śrēṣṭhaṁ dēyaṁ ca tatsadā
Incense –
वह्निचन्द्रार्कसदृशं गृहाण दुरितापह ॥
bhaktyā dadāmi varada svarṇavr̥ddhiṁ ca dēhi mē
I offer fragrant incense mixed with ten parts guggulu, delightful and aromatic.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः कर्पूरनीराजनं समर्पयामि ।
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ suvarṇapuṣpadakṣiṇāṁ samarpayāmi
O Nagisha, please accept this incense with compassion.
मन्त्रपुष्पम् –
nīrājanam – nīrājanaṁ sumaṅgalyaṁ karpūrēṇa samanvitam
Om, I bow to the Kings of Serpents; I offer this incense for your enjoyment.
नानाकुसुमसम्युक्तं पुष्पाञ्जलिमिमं प्रभो ।
vahnicandrārkasadr̥śaṁ gr̥hāṇa duritāpaha
Lamp –
कश्यपानन्दजनक सर्पराज गृहाण मे ॥
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ karpūranīrājanaṁ samarpayāmi
I offer a lamp mixed with ghee, dispelling darkness.
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः मन्त्रपुष्पाञ्जलिं समर्पयामि ।
mantrapuṣpam – nānākusumasamyuktaṁ puṣpāñjalimimaṁ prabhō
O God, please accept this lamp and be pleased.
छत्र-चामर-दर्पण-नृत्त-गीत-वाद्यान्दोलिकादि समस्तराजोपचारान् समर्पयामि ॥
kaśyapānandajanaka sarparāja gr̥hāṇa mē
Om, I bow to the Kings of Serpents; I show this lamp to you.
प्रदक्षिण –
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ mantrapuṣpāñjaliṁ samarpayāmi
Offering of food –
यानि कानि च पापानि जन्मान्तरकृतानि च । तानि तानि विनश्यन्तु प्रदक्षिण पदे पदे ॥
chatra-cāmara-darpaṇa-nr̥tta-gīta-vādyāndōlikādi samastarājōpacārān samarpayāmi
I offer this food, mixed with six flavors, combined with yogurt and honey,
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः प्रदक्षिणनमस्कारान् समर्पयामि । नमस्कारम् –
pradakṣiṇa – yāni kāni ca pāpāni janmāntarakr̥tāni ca
Filled with various edible fruits, granting the desires of those who receive it.
नमस्ते सर्वलोकेश नमस्ते लोकवन्दित । नमस्तेऽस्तु सदा नाग त्राहि मां दुःखसागरात् ॥
tāni tāni vinaśyantu pradakṣiṇa padē padē
[Having offered milk, yogurt, ghee, sugar, and water,]
ओं नागराजेभ्यो नमः नमस्कारान् समर्पयामि । प्रार्थना –
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ pradakṣiṇanamaskārān samarpayāmi
Om, I bow to the serpent kings, I offer this food.
अज्ञानात् ज्ञानतो वापि यन्मया पूजनं कृतम् । न्यूनातिरिक्तं तत्सर्वं भो नागाः क्षन्तुमर्हथ ॥
namaskāram – namastē sarvalōkēśa namastē lōkavandita
With the fragrance of dense sugarcane, mixed with floral essence,
युष्मत्प्रसादात्सफला मम सन्तु मनोरथाः । सर्वदा मत्कृते मास्तु भयं सर्पविषोद्भवम् ॥
namastē:'stu sadā nāga trāhi māṁ duḥkhasāgarāt
May this cool and delightful drink be accepted, O divine one.
समर्पणम् –
ōṁ nāgarājēbhyō namaḥ namaskārān samarpayāmi
I offer this drink in intervals,
यस्य स्मृत्या च नामोक्त्या तपः पूजा क्रियादिषु ।
prārthanā – ajñānāt jñānatō vāpi yanmayā pūjanaṁ kr̥tam
I offer the washing of hands,
न्यूनं सम्पूर्णतां याति सद्यो वन्दे तमच्युतम् ॥
nyūnātiriktaṁ tatsarvaṁ bhō nāgāḥ kṣantumarhatha
I offer the washing of the mouth,
अनया मया कृत षोडशोपचार पूजया नागराजाः सुप्रीतो सुप्रसन्नो वरदो भवतु ।
yuṣmatprasādātsaphalā mama santu manōrathāḥ
I offer the water for sipping.
वायनदान मन्त्रः –
sarvadā matkr̥tē māstu bhayaṁ sarpaviṣōdbhavam
Offering of fruits –
नागेशः प्रतिगृह्णाति नागेशो वै ददाति च ।
samarpaṇam – yasya smr̥tyā ca nāmōktyā tapaḥ pūjā kriyādiṣu
I offer the fruits of the seed, ripe mango, sugarcane, date, and banana,
नागेशस्तारको द्वाभ्यां नागेशाय नमो नमः ॥
nyūnaṁ sampūrṇatāṁ yāti sadyō vandē tamacyutam
The divine coconut, accepted by the gods.
ओं शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ।
anayā mayā kr̥ta ṣōḍaśōpacāra pūjayā nāgarājāḥ suprītō suprasannō varadō bhavatu
Om, I bow to the serpent kings, I offer various fruits.
इति नागपञ्चमी पूजा समाप्ता ॥
vāyanadāna mantraḥ – nāgēśaḥ pratigr̥hṇāti nāgēśō vai dadāti ca
Offering of betel –
नागदेवता स्तोत्राणि
nāgēśastārakō dvābhyāṁ nāgēśāya namō namaḥ
I offer the betel leaf, adorned with the fruit of the areca nut,
Naga Devata - नागदेवता
ōṁ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ
Mixed with camphor powder, please accept this betel.
