वातसलयादभयपरदानसमयादारतारति निरवापणा- दौदारयादघशोŚणादगणितशरेयःपदपरापणात
vātsalyādabhayapradānasamayādārtārti nirvāpaṇā- daudāryādaghaśoŚaṇādagaṇitaśreyaḥpadaprāpaṇāt
From the abode of the wind, grant me fearlessness; from the time of giving, may I attain the highest state, free from all obstacles.
सेवयः शरीपतिरेक ेव जगतां सनतयत्र Śट साकŚिणः परहलादशछ विभीŚणशछ करिराट पाञछालयहलया धरुवः
sevyaḥ śrīpatireka eva jagatāṃ santyatra Śaṭ sākŚiṇaḥ prahlādaścha vibhīŚaṇaścha karirāṭ pāñchālyahalyā dhruvaḥ
I serve the Lord of the body, who is the witness of the universe; may He protect me, as He did Prahlada, from the terrifying demons.
परहलाद परभुरसति छेततव हरिः सरवत्र मे दरशय सतमभे छेतयवददधिरणयकशिपुसतत्राविरासीदधरिः
prahlāda prabhurasti chettava hariḥ sarvatra me darśaya stambhe chetyavadaddhiraṇyakaśipustatrāvirāsīddhariḥ
O Lord Hari, who is the supreme being, show me your presence everywhere; may you destroy the fear caused by Hiranyakashipu.
वकŚसतसय विदारयननिजनखैरवातसलयमावेदयन ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
vakŚastasya vidārayannijanakhairvātsalyamāvedayan ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The Lord Narayana, who tears apart the darkness of ignorance, is my refuge; may He protect me from all dangers.
शरीरामो.त्र विभीŚणो.यमनघो रकŚोभयादागतः सुगरीवानय पालयामि कृ^िपया पौलसतयमपयागतम
śrīrāmo.atra vibhīŚaṇo.ayamanagho rakŚobhayādāgataḥ sugrīvānaya pālayāmi kṛ^ipayā paulastyamapyāgatam
The mighty Ravana, who is devoid of sin, has come to me; I seek refuge in the compassionate Lord Narayana.
ितयुकतवाभयमसय सरवविदितो यो राघवो दततवान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
ityuktvābhayamasya sarvavidito yo rāghavo dattavān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The one who is fearless, known to all as Raghava, is my refuge; may the Lord Narayana protect me from all dangers.
नकरगरसतपदं समुदधृ^ितकरं बरहमेशदेवेशवराः पानतवितयारतरवं निशमय करिणं देवेŚवशकतेŚवपि
nakragrastapadaṃ samuddhṛ^itakaraṃ brahmeśadeveśvarāḥ pāntvityārtaravaṃ niśamya kariṇaṃ deveŚvaśakteŚvapi
The one who is fearless, who protects from the jaws of the crocodile, is my refuge; may the Lord Narayana protect me.
मा भैŚीरिति यो ररकŚ मकराछछकरेण तं सहरन ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
mā bhaiŚīriti yo rarakŚa makarāchchakreṇa taṃ saharan ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
O Krishna, the ocean of compassion, O friend of the Pandavas, protect me from the hands of Duryodhana and others.
हा कृ^िŚणाछयुत हा कृ^िपाजलनिधे हा पाणडवानां सखे कवासि कवासि सुयोधनादयपहृ^ितां हा रकŚ मां दरौपदीम
hā kṛ^iŚṇāchyuta hā kṛ^ipājalanidhe hā pāṇḍavānāṃ sakhe kvāsi kvāsi suyodhanādyapahṛ^itāṃ hā rakŚa māṃ draupadīm
The one who is covered by the garment of fear, who is known as the protector of the weak, is my refuge; may the Lord Narayana protect me.
(सुयोधनादवगतां) ितयुकते.कŚयवसत्रसंवृ^िततनुं यो.रकŚदरधकŚणा- (वसत्ररकŚिततनुं यो.रकŚदापदगणाद-) दारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
(suyodhanādavagatāṃ) ityukte.akŚayavastrasaṃvṛ^itatanuṃ yo.arakŚadardhakŚaṇā- (vastrarakŚitatanuṃ yo.arakŚadāpadgaṇād-) dārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The one whose feet are the source of liberation from the sins of the three worlds, may His name be the nectar that I drink to cross the ocean of existence.
यतपादाबजनखोदकं त्रिजगतां पापौघविछCहेदनं यननामामृ^ितपूरमसतु पिबतां संसारसनतारकम
yatpādābjanakhodakaṃ trijagatāṃ pāpaughavichChedanaṃ yannāmāmṛ^itapūramastu pibatāṃ saṃsārasantārakam
Even a stone, when touched by the sage, becomes pure; the Lord Narayana is my refuge, who protects me from all dangers.
पाŚाणो.पि यदङघरितो मुनिव धू रूपं परं परापतवान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
pāŚāṇo.api yadaṅghrito muniva dhū rūpaṃ paraṃ prāptavān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The one who is seated on the highest throne, surrounded by devotees, is my refuge; may the Lord Narayana protect me.
पित्रा भरातरमुततमासनगतं भकतोततमः स धरुवो दृ^िŚटवा ततसममारुरुकŚुरुदितो मात्रावमानं गतः
pitrā bhrātaramuttamāsanagataṃ bhaktottamaḥ sa dhruvo dṛ^iŚṭvā tatsamamārurukŚurudito mātrāvamānaṃ gataḥ
The one who, having taken refuge, ascended to the golden throne, is my refuge; may the Lord Narayana protect me.
यं गतवा शरणं जगाम तपसा हेमादरिसिंहासनं हयारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
yaṃ gatvā śaraṇaṃ jagāma tapasā hemādrisiṃhāsanaṃ hyārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The one who is devoid of all attachments, who is the moon for the needy, is my refuge; may the Lord Narayana protect me.
यो.रकŚदवसनादिभिरविरहितं विपरं कुछेलाभिधं दीनं दीनछकोरपालनविधुः शरीशङखछकरोजजवलः
yo.arakŚadvasanādibhirvirahitaṃ vipraṃ kuchelābhidhaṃ dīnaṃ dīnachakorapālanavidhuḥ śrīśaṅkhachakrojjvalaḥ
The one who is the essence of all auspicious qualities, may He grant me the strength to overcome all obstacles.
यजजीरणामबरमुŚटिमेयपृ^िथुकानादाय भुकतवा कŚणात ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
yajjīrṇāmbaramuŚṭimeyapṛ^ithukānādāya bhuktvā kŚaṇāt ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
In whom this universe is established, may He grant me the wisdom to renounce all attachments.
यं कलयाणगुणाभिरामममलं शासत्राणि सञछकŚते
yaṃ kalyāṇaguṇābhirāmamamalaṃ śāstrāṇi sañchakŚate
The one who is the supreme yogi, who resides in the heart of the lotus, is my refuge; may the Lord Narayana protect me.
यसमिन योगयुते परतिŚठितमिदं विशवं वदनतयागमाः
yasmin yogayute pratiŚṭhitamidaṃ viśvaṃ vadantyāgamāḥ
The one who is the source of all joy, who is the essence of the universe, is my refuge; may the Lord Narayana protect me.
यो योगीनदरमनःसरोरुहतमःपरधवंसने भानुमान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
yo yogīndramanaḥsaroruhatamaḥpradhvaṃsane bhānumān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who is the refuge of those who seek liberation, who resides in the hearts of yogis like a lotus, and who is the supreme protector of the earth, is my ultimate destination, Lord Narayana.
यो.त्रासीदरविनदगरभजनुŚं बरहमाणमारतिं गतं भीतं कैटभराकŚसेन मधुना कलपानतकाले महान
yo.atrāsīdaravindagarbhajanuŚaṃ brahmāṇamārtiṃ gataṃ bhītaṃ kaiṭabharākŚasena madhunā kalpāntakāle mahān
He who frightens the enemies with his valor and who is the protector of the righteous, is the one who has vanquished the fear of the wicked and is the great Lord Narayana, my refuge.
हतवा तौ मधुकैटभौ रणमुखे भकतारतिसंशोŚणात ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
hatvā tau madhukaiṭabhau raṇamukhe bhaktārtisaṃśoŚaṇāt ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
Having slain the two demons Madhu and Kaitabha in battle, the Lord Narayana, who is the refuge of those devoted to Him, is my ultimate destination.
यननामसमरणादघौघरहितो विपरः पुराजामिलः परायानमुकतिमशेŚतो विरहितः संसारदावानलात
yannāmasmaraṇādaghaugharahito vipraḥ purājāmilaḥ prāyānmuktimaśeŚato virahitaḥ saṃsāradāvānalāt
By merely remembering the name of the Lord, the sinful Jamila was liberated from the great fire of worldly existence, free from all attachments.
सो.यं भागवतोततमावन िति परापतपरतिŚठो.छिरात ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
so.ayaṃ bhāgavatottamāvana iti prāptapratiŚṭho.achirāt ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
Thus, the Lord Narayana, who is the refuge of those devoted to Him, is my ultimate destination, having been established in the teachings of the Bhagavata.
कावेरीहृ^िदयाभिरामपुलिने पुणये जगनमणडले छनदरारकाखयसरिततटीपरिसरे धात्रा समाराधिते
kāverīhṛ^idayābhirāmapuline puṇye jaganmaṇḍale chandrārkākhyasarittaṭīparisare dhātrā samārādhite
In the sacred waters of the Kaveri, where the divine is worshipped, I find joy amidst the beautiful banks adorned with the glories of the universe.
शरीरङगे भुजगेनदरभोगशयने शेते सदा यः पुमान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
śrīraṅge bhujagendrabhogaśayane śete sadā yaḥ pumān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who eternally rests on the serpent bed, is the Lord Narayana, the refuge of those devoted to Him, and my ultimate destination.
वकत्रेनदुदयुतिमणडिताबजनयनो गणडोललसतकुणडलः शरीवतसोरुमणिशरियापतहृ^िदयः सवरणामबरो यो भुजैः
vaktrendudyutimaṇḍitābjanayano gaṇḍollasatkuṇḍalaḥ śrīvatsorumaṇiśriyāptahṛ^idayaḥ svarṇāmbaro yo bhujaiḥ
With a face adorned by the brilliance of the sun, and with earrings that dance, He is the Lord Narayana, the refuge of those devoted to Him, and my ultimate destination.
शङखं छकरगदाभयानि बिभृ^िते पदमाङघरिरतयुननतो हयारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
śaṅkhaṃ chakragadābhayāni bibhṛ^ite padmāṅghriratyunnato hyārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
Holding the conch, discus, and mace, He is the Lord Narayana, who is my ultimate destination, and who is bowed to by the celestial beings.
करमबरहमनिदानवेदनिकरं हृ^ितवा महीमणडलं तयकतवा निरमितमनदिरो.भवदथो मधयेमहासागरम
karmabrahmanidānavedanikaraṃ hṛ^itvā mahīmaṇḍalaṃ tyaktvā nirmitamandiro.abhavadatho madhyemahāsāgaram
Having taken the earth and the universe into His hands, He is the Lord Narayana, who is my ultimate destination, and who has created the vast ocean.
हनतुं सोमकनानकं तमसुरं मतसयसवरूपं दधा- वारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
hantuṃ somakanānakaṃ tamasuraṃ matsyasvarūpaṃ dadhā- vārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
To destroy the demon Somakanta, who is the embodiment of darkness, is the Lord Narayana, the refuge of those devoted to Him, and my ultimate destination.
कृ^ितवा मनदरनामकं गिरिवरं मनथानदणडं पुरा कŚीराबधौ मथनं छितेनुरधिकं सरवे.पि देवासुराः
kṛ^itvā mandaranāmakaṃ girivaraṃ manthānadaṇḍaṃ purā kŚīrābdhau mathanaṃ chitenuradhikaṃ sarve.api devāsurāḥ
In ancient times, the gods and demons churned the ocean of milk, and the Lord Narayana, who is my ultimate destination, appeared as the great protector.
मजजनतं नगमुददिधीरŚुरभवदयः कछCहपाकारवान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
majjantaṃ nagamuddidhīrŚurabhavadyaḥ kachChapākāravān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The city of the ocean, which is filled with the fragrance of divine compassion, is the Lord Narayana, the refuge of those devoted to Him, and my ultimate destination.
भूलोकं परलये महारणवजले तानतं नितानतं छिरं बरहमादयैरखिलैरशकयममरैरधरतुं महोपदरवे
bhūlokaṃ pralaye mahārṇavajale tāntaṃ nitāntaṃ chiraṃ brahmādyairakhilairaśakyamamarairdhartuṃ mahopadrave
In the great deluge, the earth is sustained by the Lord Narayana, who is my ultimate destination, and who protects all beings.
वाराही तनुरत्र धरतुमनसा येनासथिता लीलया हयारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
vārāhī tanuratra dhartumanasā yenāsthitā līlayā hyārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
By His divine play, He sustains the universe, and He is the Lord Narayana, the refuge of those devoted to Him, and my ultimate destination.

svārājye balichakravartyapahṛ^ite dāridryasampīḍitai rindrādyairamarairaśeŚamunibhiḥ saṃstutya samprārthitaḥ
He who fulfills all desires and is in the form of Vamana, is the Lord Narayana, the refuge of those devoted to Him, and my ultimate destination.
तानेतान सफलान विधातुमखिलान यो वामनाकारवान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
tānetān saphalān vidhātumakhilān yo vāmanākāravān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The Brahmins who are engaged in righteous actions, seeking wealth, pleasure, and duty, are always devoted to the Lord.
करमबरहमविछारदकŚमनसो धरमारथकामेŚु छ
karmabrahmavichāradakŚamanaso dharmārthakāmeŚu cha
He who protects the twice-born and upholds the burden of the earth, is the Lord Narayana, the refuge of those devoted to Him, and my ultimate destination.
परोतसाहं नितरामसकतमनसः कुरवनति ये बराहमणाः
protsāhaṃ nitarāmasaktamanasaḥ kurvanti ye brāhmaṇāḥ
The demons and sages, who are troubled by Ravana, are also protected by the Lord Narayana, who is my ultimate destination.
ितवा कŚतत्रमपालयद दविजवरान यो भारगवाकारवान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
itvā kŚattramapālayad dvijavarān yo bhārgavākāravān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who protects the learned and the virtuous, who takes the form of the mighty bear, is my ultimate destination, Lord Narayana, the protector of the earth.
िनदरादीनमरांसतथा मुनिवरान यो रावणो बाधते भागान हनति तथैव यो दिविŚदामागनेयागादिŚु
indrādīnamarāṃstathā munivarān yo rāvaṇo bādhate bhāgān hanti tathaiva yo diviŚadāmāgneyāgādiŚu
He who destroys the demons like Ravana and protects the sages, and who is the one that brings down the celestial beings, is my refuge, Lord Narayana.
जितवा तं सकलांशछ रकŚितुमना यो रामरूपं दधा- वारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
jitvā taṃ sakalāṃścha rakŚitumanā yo rāmarūpaṃ dadhā- vārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
Having conquered all, He who takes on the form of Rama to protect the minds of His devotees, and who is the refuge of those seeking protection, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
गोपालानतिपामरानविदुŚो मायावृ^ितान रकŚितुं यः परापानकदुनदुभेशछ सदने शरीकृ^िŚणरूपं हरिः
gopālānatipāmarānaviduŚo māyāvṛ^itān rakŚituṃ yaḥ prāpānakadundubheścha sadane śrīkṛ^iŚṇarūpaṃ hariḥ
He who protects the simple and ignorant, veiled by illusion, and who takes on the form of Krishna to safeguard them, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
तजजयेŚठो बलराम ितयजनि यो हयनवरथनामा महान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारयणो मे गतिः
tajjyeŚṭho balarāma ityajani yo hyanvarthanāmā mahān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārayaṇo me gatiḥ
He who is the great protector of those who abandon their fears, and who takes on the form of Balarama, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
िनदरादीनमरांसतथा मुनिवरान समपीडितान राकŚसै- सत्रातुं मनत्रगुरूपदेशविधिना भूतानि सममोहयन
indrādīnamarāṃstathā munivarān sampīḍitān rākŚasai- strātuṃ mantragurūpadeśavidhinā bhūtāni sammohayan
To protect the sages and the afflicted from demons, He who confers the teachings of the mantra guru and enchants all beings, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
नितयं धरमपरायणः सवयमपि शरीबौदधरूपं दधा- वारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
nityaṃ dharmaparāyaṇaḥ svayamapi śrībauddharūpaṃ dadhā- vārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
In the age of Kali, He who protects the righteous from the wicked and their cruel nature, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
वरणाछारविवरजिते कलियुगे दुŚटसवभावैरजनै- गरवेणोदधतमानसैरमुनिगणान समपीडयमानांसतथा
varṇāchāravivarjite kaliyuge duŚṭasvabhāvairjanai- garveṇoddhatamānasairmunigaṇān sampīḍyamānāṃstathā
He who descends to protect the devotees, and who is the witness of all, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
त्रातुं कलकयवतारमाप भगवान यः सरवसाकŚी पुमान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवननारायणो मे गतिः
trātuṃ kalkyavatāramāpa bhagavān yaḥ sarvasākŚī pumān ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavannārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
In the assembly of the great mountains, He who causes the directions to tremble and shakes the earth, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
शैलारातिनियुकतभीŚणमहाकादमबिनीमणडले रुदधवा खं विदिशो दिशो.शनिशिलासारान भृ^िशं वरŚति
śailārātiniyuktabhīŚaṇamahākādambinīmaṇḍale ruddhvā khaṃ vidiśo diśo.aśaniśilāsārān bhṛ^iśaṃ varŚati
He who lifted Govardhana with His hand to protect the cowherd community, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
यो.रकŚदवरजगोकुलं करतलेनोदधृ^ितय गोवरधनं हयातत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
yo.arakŚadvrajagokulaṃ karatalenoddhṛ^itya govardhanaṃ hyātatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who, in a fierce form, protects the kings from the dangers of the forest, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
कारावेशमनि भीमविकरमजरासनधेन बनदीकृ^ितान भूपालानखिलानननयगतिकान विज्ञपितसववयथान
kārāveśmani bhīmavikramajarāsandhena bandīkṛ^itān bhūpālānakhilānananyagatikān vijñapitasvavyathān
He who killed the demon in the forest to liberate the oppressed, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
बनधानमोछयितुं परभञजनभुवा यो.जीघनततं समि- तयारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
bandhānmochayituṃ prabhañjanabhuvā yo.ajīghanattaṃ sami- tyārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who, along with thousands of yogis, is the embodiment of desire and who is fierce in anger, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
कŚुततृ^िŚणारतसहसरयोगिसहितं दुरवाससं करोधिनं दरौपदया विघसाणुमभयवहरन शाकं सवहसतारपितम
kŚuttṛ^iŚṇārtasahasrayogisahitaṃ durvāsasaṃ krodhinaṃ draupadyā vighasāṇumabhyavaharan śākaṃ svahastārpitam
He who grants satisfaction to the world and is the source of all fulfillment, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
तृ^िपतयातरपयदातमनो.सय जगतसतृ^िपतिं समावेदयन ारतत्राणपराणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
tṛ^iptyātarpayadātmano.asya jagatastṛ^iptiṃ samāvedayan ārtatrāṇaparāṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who, having been struck by the arrow of the enemy, is protected by His own power, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
सीताया पछारिणं हरिहरबरहमादिभिरदुरगरहं बाणेनाभिहतं निजेन पुनरपयायातमङघरिदवयम
sītāyā apachāriṇaṃ hariharabrahmādibhirdurgrahaṃ bāṇenābhihataṃ nijena punarapyāyātamaṅghridvayam
He who is compassionate towards the crow and protects the fearful, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
काकाकारनिशाछरं करुणयारकŚदविपननं भया- दारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
kākākāraniśācharaṃ karuṇayārakŚadvipannaṃ bhayā- dārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who, having defeated Vali, protects the weak and shelters Sugriva, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
वालिपरापतकलत्रराजयविभवं दीनं कुशं निरदशं सुगरीवं सवपदगरहैकशरणं कृ^ितवा कटाकŚासपदम
vāliprāptakalatrarājyavibhavaṃ dīnaṃ kuśaṃ nirdaśaṃ sugrīvaṃ svapadagrahaikaśaraṇaṃ kṛ^itvā kaṭākŚāspadam
He who removes the sorrows of those who take refuge in Him, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
तददुःखानयहिते सरोŚमकरोदयः सवपरतिज्ञाबलात ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
tadduḥkhānyahite saroŚamakarodyaḥ svapratijñābalāt ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who, in the form of a Shudra, endures great penance, and who, upon death, grants life to the children of the grieving parents, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
शूदरे घोरतपससमाछरति तददोŚेण मृ^ितयुं गते कसमिंशछित पृ^िथुके तदीयजननीपित्रोरमहादुःखयोः
śūdre ghoratapassamācharati taddoŚeṇa mṛ^ityuṃ gate kasmiṃśchit pṛ^ithuke tadīyajananīpitrormahāduḥkhayoḥ
He who, having killed the Shudra, grants life back to the children, is my ultimate goal, Lord Narayana.
हतवा शू दरशिरो मृ^ितसय छ शिशोः पराणान पुनरयो.ददात ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
hatvā śū draśiro mṛ^itasya cha śiśoḥ prāṇān punaryo.adadāt ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ

यसमादरकतपिपीलिकादिरछनादेवेशपरयनतकं यो रकŚतयखिलं छराछरमिदं नितयं जगननिरमितम
yasmādraktapipīlikādirachanādeveśaparyantakaṃ yo rakŚatyakhilaṃ charācharamidaṃ nityaṃ jagannirmitam
From whom the red ant and other creatures arise, and who is the ultimate refuge of all beings, is the one who has created this entire universe, both mobile and immobile.
करमबरहमविछारदकŚमनसामैकयेन यो रकŚिता हयारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः

chidrūpī cha samastabhedarahito yaśchābhavannirmamo- yaḥ sthūlādiśarīrabandharahito yaḥ satyarūpaḥ sadā
He is formless and free from all distinctions, yet He manifests in various forms, and He is the eternal essence that pervades all bodies.
करतुं सवीयमुपासकं फलयुतं यः कलपिताकारवान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः

śabdāt sarpamṛ^itistathā gajamṛ^itiḥ sparśāttathā rūpato naŚṭo.abhūchChalabhastathaiva rasato matsyāścha gandhādaliḥ
From sound to the essence of life, He pervades all beings, and He is the source of all forms and tastes, manifesting in various ways.
सरवैः सवैरविŚयैरनिपीडिततनून यः पालयतयाशरितान ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः

भूलोकादिसमसतलोकनिछयं कृ^ितवागजातं तनोः सवीयायाः सकलं छराछरमिदं पादादिशीरŚानतकम
bhūlokādisamastalokanichayaṃ kṛ^itvāgajātaṃ tanoḥ svīyāyāḥ sakalaṃ charācharamidaṃ pādādiśīrŚāntakam

sarvātmānamajaṃ chidambaraparijñeyaṃ mano.agocharaṃ vāgarvāchi gataṃ jarākṛ^ititanuṃ chaitanyasampādakam

निरभेद निरुपदरवं निरुपमं निरवाणदं निरमलं निŚकमपं निरुपाधिकं निरशनं नितयामृ^ितोददायकम
nirbheda nirupadravaṃ nirupamaṃ nirvāṇadaṃ nirmalaṃ niŚkampaṃ nirupādhikaṃ niraśanaṃ nityāmṛ^itoddāyakam
Without division, without blemish, incomparable, granting liberation, pure, without attachment, without a superior, nourishing, and eternally bestowing the nectar of immortality.
निरवेलं निरतोदयं निरुदयं यं वेद दुरगाधिराट- ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
nirvelaṃ niratodayaṃ nirudayaṃ yaṃ veda durgādhirāṭ- ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The one who is unchanging, the source of all, whom the Vedas describe as the supreme ruler, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
सतयं जयोतिरनादि यञछ कलयननातमनयजसत्रं जग- ननिरदवैतो विछछार छारणगणैः संसतूयमानः शुकः
satyaṃ jyotiranādi yañcha kalayannātmanyajastraṃ jaga- nnirdvaito vichachāra chāraṇagaṇaiḥ saṃstūyamānaḥ śukaḥ
The eternal truth, the light without beginning, who is praised by the celestial beings, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
लोको बुदबुदतौलयमेति किल यत्रामभोनिधौ छाञछलन ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
loko budbudataulyameti kila yatrāmbhonidhau chāñchalan ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The rivers, united with the ocean, are named and formed as they flow, just as the eternal one, who is the essence of all beings, is the supreme Brahman.
नदयः सयनदनसंयुता जलनिधौ सवे नामरूपे यथा सनतयजयैकयमुपागताशछ सकलासतदवत पुमान बरहमवित
nadyaḥ syandanasaṃyutā jalanidhau sve nāmarūpe yathā santyajyaikyamupāgatāścha sakalāstadvat pumān brahmavit
Abandoning form and name, the one who is complete and singular is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
रूपं नाम विहाय पूरणतनुमननरायणैकयं गत- शछारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
rūpaṃ nāma vihāya pūrṇatanumannarāyaṇaikyaṃ gata- śchārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
In the heart of the ant, the great Lord Narayana resides, always manifesting in the form of love and compassion for all beings.
बरंहिŚठादिपिपीलिकानतहृ^िदये या परीतिरासते सदा सैŚारधो.भिमतः समसतविदुŚामादयसय वाकयसय छ
braṃhiŚṭhādipipīlikāntahṛ^idaye yā prītirāste sadā saiŚārdho.abhimataḥ samastaviduŚāmādyasya vākyasya cha
The one who is the essence of the great Narayana, the supreme Lord, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
सैŚाननदलवो हि यसय महतो नारायणसय परभो- रारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
saiŚānandalavo hi yasya mahato nārāyaṇasya prabho- rārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
In the heart of the four-faced Brahma, the one who is the essence of love and compassion always resides, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
ादितयादिछतुरमुखानतहृ^िदये या परीतिरासते सदा सैŚारधो.भिमतः समसतविदुŚां मधयसथवाकयसय छ
ādityādichaturmukhāntahṛ^idaye yā prītirāste sadā saiŚārdho.abhimataḥ samastaviduŚāṃ madhyasthavākyasya cha
The one who grants the path of devotion, who is the singular essence of Narayana, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
नतयाततवैकयपदी ददौ सपदि या नारायणैकयं तयो- रारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवानदारायणो मे गतिः
antyāttvaikyapadī dadau sapadi yā nārāyaṇaikyaṃ tayo- rārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavāndārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
By whom the sinful are purified, whose speech is powerful and profound, and who is the essence of all knowledge, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
येनाघराणनिरीकŚणगरहणधीरवागवयाकृ^ितिरयेन छ सवादवसवादविति येन विनदति छ ततपरज्ञानमितयुछयते
yenāghrāṇanirīkŚaṇagrahaṇadhīrvāgvyākṛ^itiryena cha svādvasvādviti yena vindati cha tatprajñānamityuchyate
The supreme knowledge that conquers all, which is the essence of the divine, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
परज्ञानं मयि तादृ^िशं विजयते यसय सवरूपं विभो- रारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
prajñānaṃ mayi tādṛ^iśaṃ vijayate yasya svarūpaṃ vibho- rārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The consciousness that pervades all beings, even in death, is the supreme Brahman, and that is where I find my refuge.
यछछैतनयमशेŚदेवनिछये सरवेŚु मरतयेŚवपि पराणिŚवदय गवादिŚु परकटितं बरहमेति तत्रोछयते
yachchaitanyamaśeŚadevanichaye sarveŚu martyeŚvapi prāṇiŚvadya gavādiŚu prakaṭitaṃ brahmeti tatrochyate
Such a Brahman shines within me always, and that is my eternal abode, the supreme Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
तादृ^िबरहम विराजते मयि सदा यसयैव धाम परभो- रारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
tādṛ^ibrahma virājate mayi sadā yasyaiva dhāma prabho- rārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The one who is worthy of knowledge, who resides in fullness, is the supreme Lord, and is always known by the wise.
विदयारहे परिपूरणमत्र निवसन देवः परातमाभितो बुदधेः साकŚितया सफुरननहमिति ज्ञेयः सदा परोछयते
vidyārhe paripūrṇamatra nivasan devaḥ parātmābhito buddheḥ sākŚitayā sphurannahamiti jñeyaḥ sadā prochyate
That which is always present, the essence of the supreme Lord, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
सो.यं तादृ^िगहं बभूव सततं यसयैव छांशः परभो- रारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
so.ayaṃ tādṛ^igahaṃ babhūva satataṃ yasyaiva chāṃśaḥ prabho- rārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
Everywhere, the complete and eternal being, the supreme Lord, is the essence of all knowledge and is the ultimate refuge.
सरवत्र सवयमेव पूरणतनुमान देवः परातमा विभुः सरवैरबरहमविदां गणैः सुमनसां बरहमेति संवरणयते
sarvatra svayameva pūrṇatanumān devaḥ parātmā vibhuḥ sarvairbrahmavidāṃ gaṇaiḥ sumanasāṃ brahmeti saṃvarṇyate
The one who is the supreme essence, who grants the experience of the divine to those who speak of it, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
तदबरहमाहमिति परमासमि वदतो यः सवानुभूतिं ददा- वारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
tadbrahmāhamiti pramāsmi vadato yaḥ svānubhūtiṃ dadā- vārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The one who is singular and all-pervading, who is the essence of all beings, is the Lord Narayana, who is my refuge and protector.
ेकं वासतवितरेण शूनयमभितः सनतयकतनाम सवयं रूपेणापि विवरजितं यदभवततततवमपदारथं विदुः
ekaṃ vāstvitareṇa śūnyamabhitaḥ santyaktanāma svayaṃ rūpeṇāpi vivarjitaṃ yadabhavattattvampadārthaṃ viduḥ
He who pervades the void with his essence, who is the eternal and unchanging one, is the ultimate reality that the wise understand as the essence of all existence.
शरीनारायणमूरतिरेव भगवान यतततपदारथशरुता- वारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
śrīnārāyaṇamūrtireva bhagavān yattatpadārthaśrutā- vārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
The form of Lord Narayana is indeed my refuge, who is dedicated to the protection of those who seek shelter, and who is the ultimate goal for me.
शरोतुः शिŚयजनादपीनदरियछयाददेहत्रयाछछापि य- दवसतवेकं नितरां विलकŚणमहो तततवमपदारथं विदुः
śrotuḥ śiŚyajanādapīndriyachayāddehatrayāchchāpi ya- dvastvekaṃ nitarāṃ vilakŚaṇamaho tattvampadārthaṃ viduḥ
The one who is the essence of all beings, who is beyond the three bodies, and who is the sole refuge for those who are devoted to Him, is indeed my goal.
तादृ^िक तवं तदसीति देशिकगिरा परापनोति येनैकता- मारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
tādṛ^ik tvaṃ tadasīti deśikagirā prāpnoti yenaikatā- mārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
Such is the nature of that Lord, who is praised by the wise, and who is the ultimate refuge for those who seek protection; He is my goal.
नितयं वसतु विराजते सवयमहो सवसयापरोकŚं सदा साकŚी सवीयतनोशछ सरवविबुधैः सो.यं तदातमोछयते
nityaṃ vastu virājate svayamaho svasyāparokŚaṃ sadā sākŚī svīyatanoścha sarvavibudhaiḥ so.ayaṃ tadātmochyate
May He, who eternally resides in glory, who is the witness of all beings, and who is revered by all the enlightened, liberate me from the lowest state.
ातमा यो.यमभूतपूरवमहिमा यसयैव लेशः सफुरन ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
ātmā yo.ayamabhūtapūrvamahimā yasyaiva leśaḥ sphuran ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He is the supreme soul, whose glory is beyond comprehension, and who is the ultimate refuge for those who seek protection; He is my goal.
ातमा यसतु विराजते.सय जगतो दृ^िशयसय सरवसय छ सथितवा साकŚितया छकासति तमिमं बरहमेति सरवे विदुः
ātmā yastu virājate.asya jagato dṛ^iśyasya sarvasya cha sthitvā sākŚitayā chakāsti tamimaṃ brahmeti sarve viduḥ
He who shines as the essence of the universe, who is the witness of all, is indeed the supreme Brahman, known by all.
बरहमातमायमिति परसननहृ^िदये नारायणातमा बभा- वारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
brahmātmāyamiti prasannahṛ^idaye nārāyaṇātmā babhā- vārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He is the eternal form of Brahman, who resides in the heart of all beings, and who is the ultimate refuge for those who seek protection; He is my goal.
नितयाननदवपुरभवन भवहरो यो वासुदेवः पुमान- ारतत्राणपरायणः स भगवाननारायणो मे गतिः
nityānandavapurbhavan bhavaharo yo vāsudevaḥ pumān- ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇaḥ sa bhagavānnārāyaṇo me gatiḥ
He who is the eternal form of bliss, who is the protector of the world, is indeed my goal; He is Lord Vasudeva.
ारतत्राणपरायणसतवमिमं धरमादिमोकŚपरदं वयासाछारयकृ^ितं परं शुभकरं सरवाघविधवंसनम
ārtatrāṇaparāyaṇastavamimaṃ dharmādimokŚapradaṃ vyāsāchāryakṛ^itaṃ paraṃ śubhakaraṃ sarvāghavidhvaṃsanam
This hymn, dedicated to the protection of those who seek refuge, is a supreme blessing, bringing liberation and auspiciousness to all.
नितयं यः पठति परभातसमये शृ^िणवननरो भकतिमान शरीवैकुणठपदं स याति विमलं योगीनदरलभयं पदम
