Shlok 33
Peace (prasādanam) of mind (citta) (is achieved) by (internally) contemplating (bhāvanātaḥ) on (the feelings) of friendship (maitrī), compassion (karuṇā), sympathy in joy (muditā) or indifference --upekṣā-- (upekṣāṇām) regarding (viṣayāṇām) (beings who are) happy (sukha), suffering pain or distress (duḥkha), virtuous (puṇya) (or) impure (apuṇya), (respectively)||33||

Shlok 57
सब जगह आसक्ति रहित हुआ जो मनुष्य उस शुभ अशुभ को प्राप्त करके न तो अभिनन्दित होता है और न द्वेष करता है उसकी बुद्धि प्रतिष्ठित है।
One who remains unattached under all conditions, and is neither delighted by good fortune nor dejected by tribulation, he is a sage with perfect knowledge.

Shlok 59
निराहारी (इन्द्रियोंको विषयोंसे हटानेवाले) मनुष्यके भी विषय तो निवृत्त हो जाते हैं पर रस निवृत्त नहीं होता। परन्तु इस स्थितप्रज्ञ मनुष्यका तो रस भी परमात्मतत्त्वका अनुभव होनेसे निवृत्त हो जाता है।
Aspirants may restrain the senses from their objects of enjoyment, but the taste for the sense objects remains. However, even this taste ceases for those who realizes the Supreme.
