Suparśvanātha was the seventh Jain Tirthankara of the present age. He was born to King Pratishtha and Queen Prithvi at Varanasi on 12 Jyestha Shukla in the Ikshvaku clan.

Parshvanatha, recognized as a historical figure, is among the earliest Tirthankaras. He is credited as the pioneer of Karma philosophy in recorded history. According to Jain sources, he is believed to have existed between the 9th and 8th centuries BCE, while historians propose that he lived in the 8th or 7th century BCE.

There are two Jain temples dedicated to Parshvnath, located adjacent to each other (Digambar and Shwetambar). The only difference being that, Digambar Temple has a 75 centimeter tall black idol, whereas the Shwetambar Temple has a 60 centimeter tall white idol.

Shreyansnath Bhagwan, the 11th Tirthankara, is associated with the symbol of a rhinoceros. He had a height equivalent to 80 measures of a bow. His spiritual order consisted of 76 Ganadharas, who served as his chief disciples. Ishwar Yaksha and Manvi Devi held the positions of Shasan Yaksh Dev and Shasan Yakshini Devi, respectively, in his divine administration.

The origin of this sacred pilgrimage site dates back to the 11th Tirthankara of the current era, the revered Shri Shreyansnath Bhagwan. It holds significance as the site where four auspicious life events, known as kalyanaks, of Shri Shreyansnath Bhagwan took place. A remarkable octagonal pillar, measuring 103 feet in height, stands as a testament to its ancient establishment. According to beliefs, it is estimated to be around 2200 years old. The intricate artwork adorning the pillar is truly unparalleled.

He is also known as Adinatha (“Lord of the Beginning”) and is portrayed by Jain legend as having lived many millions of years ago. Rishabhanatha is one of the most honoured of the Jain Tirthankaras, having been the first to preach the Jain faith in this age.

One of the largest functional temple in Ramghat is the Chintamani Parshwanath Jinalay which stands on the place where Lord Parshwanath had given a sermon to Kamath tapas.
