Mathura: The city unnoticed (2022)

Mathura, formerly known as Muttra, is a city situated in western Uttar Pradesh state, part of northern India. It lies in the land between the Ganges-Yamuna river, on the Yamuna River about 40 km northwest of Agra. The reason why Mathura is most famous is that it is the birthplace of Lord Krishna and so it has a great religious value significance for Hindus. The city has great historical importance and is mentioned in the Epics like Ramayan. It is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna, just like Ayodhya and Varanasi, the entire land of Mathura is dotted with magnificent temples, which are dedicated to various phases that happened in the life of Shri Krishna.

Mathura

Shri Krishna Janmasthan

Lord Krishna’s parents, Mata Devaki and Vasudeva were imprisoned by his evil uncle Kansa. Near the prison cell, Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple is situated in the holy city of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. For Hindus, the temple holds significant significance since it is said to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna.

The Dwarkadhish temple

It is regarded as one of the most sacred temples in the city of Mathura, is popular all over the country for its creative architecture and paintings. The temple was built in the year 1814, the temple compared to others is relatively new but is highly admired for its beauty…It is situated within the distance of the holy gates of the city, near the ghats of Yamuna. Various interesting things can also be seen in and around the temple.

Shri Banke Bihari Mandir

It is a temple made for Lord Krishna in the sacred city of Vrindavan in the Mathura district. It is situated in one of the most religiously sacred shrines in the country. This temple is among the 7 temples of Thakur of Vrindavan, which also include, Shri Govind Dev Ji, Sri Radhavallabh Ji, and four others.

Vishram Ghat

Vishram is a Sanskrit word that denotes rest. This place calms down people who are coming to tour this place. The wonderful view beside the beautiful bank of Yamuna has amazed people in so many ways. The scenery looks more stunning after the flickering of lights reflected on the water during the dawn of the sun will make visitors fall in love with the overall view. Prem Mandir

Any Photographer who loves taking pictures and is into social media, then this temple is right for you because this temple is ideal for taking beautiful, cinematic pictures. It is made in the memory of the divine love of Radha Krishna and Sita Ram. It is located near Mathura Vrindavan road. There is a musical show held every day from 7.30 to 8.30 pm where visitors will be witnessing phenomenal bhajans and Kirtanns along with the twisting water flows.

Iskcon Temple

Iskcon Foundation is one of the biggest foundations spread across different countries. The one situated in Vrindavan which is near Mathura, the temple was built in 1975 by the ISCON foundation in Vrindavan. The Krishna Balram Temple, also known as Radha Ballabh Temple, is a beautiful white marble temple that yearly attracts millions of worshippers from all over the world. The temple has several world-class amenities.
