ों नमो.वलोकितेशवराय
oṃ namo.avalokiteśvarāya
Om, I bow to Avalokiteshvara.
देवमनुŚयासुरनुतछरणः परतिहतजनमजरारुजमरणः
devamanuŚyāsuranutacharaṇaḥ pratihatajanmajarārujamaraṇaḥ
O Lord of the worlds, you are the refuge of all beings, the remover of suffering, the conqueror of death.
लोकेश तवं मामशरणयं रकŚ कृ^िपालो कुरु कारुणयम
lokeśa tvaṃ māmaśaraṇyaṃ rakŚa kṛ^ipālo kuru kāruṇyam
O Lord of the Universe, I seek your shelter; O compassionate one, grant me your mercy.
संसारोदधिमधयनिमगनं कलेशमहोरमिसमाहितभगनम
saṃsārodadhimadhyanimagnaṃ kleśamahormisamāhitabhagnam
In the ocean of worldly existence, amidst the tumult of time, I am lost; O compassionate one, guide me.
मामवधारय मा विरुवनतं त्राहि महाकृ^िप नौमि भवनतम
māmavadhāraya mā viruvantaṃ trāhi mahākṛ^ipa naumi bhavantam
Hold me close, do not let me stray; protect me, O great mercy, I bow before you.
तृ^िŚणातिमिरोपदरुतनेत्रं मरणमहाभयविहवलगात्रम
tṛ^iŚṇātimiropadrutanetraṃ maraṇamahābhayavihvalagātram
With eyes blinded by thirst, my body trembles in the fear of death.
पालय भगवननवलोकय मां यावदवीछिं यामि न विŚमाम
pālaya bhagavannavalokaya māṃ yāvadavīchiṃ yāmi na viŚamām
Protect me, O Lord, and gaze upon me; as long as I wander, do not let me fall into despair.
कृ^ितमनयसत्रीगरहणमजसरं हतमज्ञेयं पराणिसहसरम
kṛ^itamanyastrīgrahaṇamajasraṃ hatamajñeyaṃ prāṇisahasram
In the grip of ignorance, I am caught; save me from the multitude of beings.
नाथ मया कृ^ितपापमशेŚं नाशय सणपरति कायिकदोŚम
nātha mayā kṛ^itapāpamaśeŚaṃ nāśaya saṇprati kāyikadoŚam
O Lord, I have committed sins; cleanse me of my faults and destroy my physical impurities.
यजजोवितसतकारनिमिततं लोकान नितयं भणितमसतयम
yajjovitasatkāranimittaṃ lokān nityaṃ bhaṇitamasatyam
In the act of worship, may I always speak the truth and refrain from falsehood.
तललोकेशवर शमय समसतं वाछिकनरकं छिरमभयसतम
tallokeśvara śamaya samastaṃ vāchikanarakaṃ chiramabhyastam
O Lord of the Universe, calm the chaos of existence; may I be freed from the terrors of hell.
सततवानामिह छिनतितमहितं सवयमनुमोदितमपि नरविहितम
sattvānāmiha chintitamahitaṃ svayamanumoditamapi naravihitam
Those who dwell in your presence are ever blessed; grant me the same grace, O Lord.
धुना तनमम मानसपापं सफोटय नाथ करोमि विलापम
adhunā tanmama mānasapāpaṃ sphoṭaya nātha karomi vilāpam
O Lord, cleanse my mind of sinful thoughts; I cry out to you in despair.
देवमनुŚयासुरजातीनां तिरयःनारकपरेतगतीनाम
devamanuŚyāsurajātīnāṃ tiryaḥnārakapretagatīnām
O divine protector, guide the souls of those trapped in hell and the spirits of the departed.
सततवा ये निवसनति सदारता रकŚसि तानिति तव मयि वारता
sattvā ye nivasanti sadārtā rakŚasi tāniti tava mayi vārtā
Those who dwell in your protection are eternally safe; thus, I seek refuge in you.
तेन ममोपरि सृ^िज कारुणयं वीकŚय शरीरगतं तारुणयम
tena mamopari sṛ^ija kāruṇyaṃ vīkŚya śarīragataṃ tāruṇyam
With compassion, create a shield over me, for my body is frail and youthful.
िति शृ^िणु भगवन भवति भणामि यावननरकं नैव विशामि
iti śṛ^iṇu bhagavan bhavati bhaṇāmi yāvannarakaṃ naiva viśāmi
Listen, O Lord, as I speak; I shall not enter the realms of hell.
किं छोपेतय करोŚि परारथं मुञछसि भगवन मामकृ^ितारथम
kiṃ chopetya karoŚi parārthaṃ muñchasi bhagavan māmakṛ^itārtham
What can you do for those who are in need? Release me, O Lord, for my sake.
थवा परेकŚय कृ^िपा तव पुणयं जनयसि दृ^िŚटं कथमविपननम
athavā prekŚya kṛ^ipā tava puṇyaṃ janayasi dṛ^iŚṭaṃ kathamavipannam
Or, through your grace, may you create merit for me; how can I not see your compassion?
समरणेनापि भवसि परितुŚटः कŚिपसि छ कलुŚं किमिति न दृ^िŚटः
smaraṇenāpi bhavasi parituŚṭaḥ kŚipasi cha kaluŚaṃ kimiti na dṛ^iŚṭaḥ
By remembering you, I find peace; how can I not see the good in this?
यसमाद भगवन परहितदकŚ कŚेपं मा कुरु मामिह रकŚ
yasmād bhagavan parahitadakŚa kŚepaṃ mā kuru māmiha rakŚa
O Lord, do not cast me aside; I seek your protection.
दनतितुरङगमपुत्रकलत्रं राजयमकणटकवेशमविछित्रम
dantituraṅgamaputrakalatraṃ rājyamakaṇṭakaveśmavichitram
The horse, the son, the wife, and the kingdom, all are but illusions in this world.
सथिशिरो.सृ^िङमांसपरयनतं भवतारथिभयो दततमननतम
asthiśiro.asṛ^iṅmāṃsaparyantaṃ bhavatārthibhyo dattamanantam
With a humble heart, I bow before you, O Lord; grant me the strength to overcome fear.
ञजनगुटिकापादुकसिदधिः सिदधौŚधिमणिमनत्रविशुदधिः
añjanaguṭikāpādukasiddhiḥ siddhauŚadhimaṇimantraviśuddhiḥ
With the purity of your teachings, may I find the path to liberation.
सिदधयति यकŚसत्रीपुरवेशः तुŚयसि यसय तवं लोकेश
siddhayati yakŚastrīpuraveśaḥ tuŚyasi yasya tvaṃ lokeśa
You bestow blessings upon those who enter your abode; O Lord of the Universe, may I be among them.
ये करछरणविलोछनहीना विविधवयाधिमहाभयदीनाः
ye karacharaṇavilochanahīnā vividhavyādhimahābhayadīnāḥ
Those who are deprived of hands, feet, and eyes, afflicted by various ailments and great fears,
ते तवयि तुŚटे पुŚटशरीरा विलसनतयरुजो गुणगमभीराः
te tvayi tuŚṭe puŚṭaśarīrā vilasantyarujo guṇagambhīrāḥ
They find refuge in You, O Lord, their bodies adorned with the essence of Your virtues, flourishing with joy.
गरलं वयाधिरगरहडाकिनयः शानतिं यानति सदा योगिनयः
garalaṃ vyādhirgrahaḍākinyaḥ śāntiṃ yānti sadā yoginyaḥ
The serpent of illness, coiling tightly, is calmed by the yogis who always seek Your grace.
सरति न तसय पुरो यमदूतः परोतो यसय छ तवं जिनभूतः
sarati na tasya puro yamadūtaḥ proto yasya cha tvaṃ jinabhūtaḥ
The messengers of Yama do not dare approach those who have taken shelter in You, O Jina.
िति लोकेशवर किं करियमाणं मुञछसि भगवन मामत्राणम
iti lokeśvara kiṃ kriyamāṇaṃ muñchasi bhagavan māmatrāṇam
O Lord of the worlds, what should I do? Release me from this bondage and grant me protection.
रौमयहमनुदिनमुदयतपाणिरनाशय त्राससमाकुलवाणिः
raumyahamanudinamudyatapāṇirnāśaya trāsasamākulavāṇiḥ
I am overwhelmed daily by the terror of life; with Your outstretched hand, dispel my fears.
यदविŚयेनदरियछञछलमनसा कृ^ितबहुपापं वयाकुलमनसा
yadviŚayendriyachañchalamanasā kṛ^itabahupāpaṃ vyākulamanasā
With a mind filled with sinful thoughts, I have accumulated many wrongs; yet, I am troubled in heart.
नीतं जनम मया.समिन सकलं जठरनिमिततं भरमता विकलम
nītaṃ janma mayā.asmin sakalaṃ jaṭharanimittaṃ bhramatā vikalam
I have led the people astray, burdened by the weight of my actions; grant me relief from this suffering.
ततकुरु सणपरति मम लोकेश परणतो विविधाञजलिरहमेŚः
tatkuru saṇprati mama lokeśa praṇato vividhāñjalirahameŚaḥ
Thus, O Lord of the worlds, I bow down to You, offering diverse streams of devotion.
येनाभुकतवापायिकदोŚं सुगतिं भवतो यामि न मोकŚम
yenābhuktvāpāyikadoŚaṃ sugatiṃ bhavato yāmi na mokŚam
By whom, having consumed the poison of suffering, I shall attain the bliss of liberation.
मोहदवेŚविनाशनहेतुसतवं संसारमहोदधिसेतुः
mohadveŚavināśanahetustvaṃ saṃsāramahodadhisetuḥ
You are the bridge across the vast ocean of worldly existence, the destroyer of delusion.
पतितसत्रसतोतथापितबाहुसतवं गुरुदुरितनिशाकरराहुः
patitastrastotthāpitabāhustvaṃ guruduritaniśākararāhuḥ
Even the most fearsome demons cannot withstand the power of Your grace, O Guru.
देशितसुगतानुततरतततवसतवं पालितबहुदुःखितसततवः
deśitasugatānuttaratattvastvaṃ pālitabahuduḥkhitasattvaḥ
You guide the virtuous, protecting them from countless sorrows, O Guardian of the afflicted.
निरजितदुरजयमनमथमारसतवं सनतीरणभवारणवपारः
nirjitadurjayamanmathamārastvaṃ santīrṇabhavārṇavapāraḥ
You conquer the formidable obstacles of existence, the protector of those who seek refuge.
सकलालाननिकृ^िनतनदेहसतवं परिभावितजगतसुदेहः
sakalālānanikṛ^intanadehastvaṃ paribhāvitajagatasudehaḥ
You are the essence of all beings, the embodiment of compassion, nurturing the world.
भगवनननुपमकरुणासिनधुसतवं जनविदितो.कारणबनधुः
bhagavannanupamakaruṇāsindhustvaṃ janavidito.akāraṇabandhuḥ
O Lord, unparalleled in Your merciful nature, You are known as the cause of all creation.
लीलाविदलितकरमविभङगसतवं परहितविŚयवयासङगः
līlāvidalitakarmavibhaṅgastvaṃ parahitaviŚayavyāsaṅgaḥ
With playful gestures, You dissolve the burdens of the world, bringing joy to those in need.
दिवयधयानसमाहितछिततसतवं याछकसाधारणछिततः
divyadhyānasamāhitachittastvaṃ yāchakasādhāraṇachittaḥ
In the divine state of meditation, You are the focus of all minds, transcending the ordinary.
परमपकुरवनननपि करुणावान मयि परितोŚं न करोŚि भवान
paramapakurvannnapi karuṇāvān mayi paritoŚaṃ na karoŚi bhavān
O Lord, in Your boundless compassion, do not forsake me, for I am surrounded by troubles.
कथमिह मोहमहोरगदŚटं विŚयशरीरमकुशलं भरŚटम
kathamiha mohamahoragadaŚṭaṃ viŚayaśarīramakuśalaṃ bhraŚṭam
How can I, caught in the web of delusion, navigate this life of suffering and pain?
सकलजनारथं परति या करुणा सा किं भवतो नियतसफरणा
sakalajanārthaṃ prati yā karuṇā sā kiṃ bhavato niyataspharaṇā
Your compassion for all beings is unwavering; how can it not be my constant refuge?
येन न रकŚसि किलविŚवनतं भवतः पुरतो मां विरुवनतम
yena na rakŚasi kilviŚavantaṃ bhavataḥ purato māṃ viruvantam
If You do not protect me, O Lord, I am left vulnerable before the forces of darkness.
नाथ कृ^िपा ते वयोमविशाला सततवेŚु हि यथामबुदधारा
nātha kṛ^ipā te vyomaviśālā sattveŚu hi yathāmbudadhārā
O Lord, Your grace is vast, encompassing all; You are the sustainer of the universe.
सथलजलनिमनोननतबहुदेशे सरति निरनतरमनिशमशेŚे
sthalajalanimnonnatabahudeśe sarati nirantaramaniśamaśeŚe
In every place, in every water, You flow endlessly, a constant presence in the world.
िति भगवतसमरणादयतपुणयं मम तेनेदं जगदकŚुणणम
iti bhagavatsmaraṇādyatpuṇyaṃ mama tenedaṃ jagadakŚuṇṇam
Through the remembrance of the Divine, may I attain the merit to witness this world anew.
लभतां शरीपोतलकाछलवासं जनयतु सुनदरविविधविलासम
labhatāṃ śrīpotalakāchalavāsaṃ janayatu sundaravividhavilāsam
May one attain the bliss of the divine abode, where the enchanting play of beauty unfolds in myriad forms.
िति शरीमदारयावलोकितेशवरभटटारकसय छरपतिपादविरछितं सतोत्रं समपूरणम
iti śrīmadāryāvalokiteśvarabhaṭṭārakasya charapatipādavirachitaṃ stotraṃ sampūrṇam
Thus, this complete stotra, adorned with the grace of Avalokiteshvara, shines like a jewel, bestowing the blessings of the divine.
