With three leaves, of three gunas, with three eyes and three weapons,
त्रिशाखैः बिल्वपत्रैश्च अच्छिद्रैः कोमलैः शुभैः
triśākhaiḥ bilvapatraiśca acchidraiḥ kōmalaiḥ śubhaiḥ
The remover of sins from three births, I offer this single bilva leaf to Shiva.
तव पूजां करिष्यामि एकबिल्वं शिवार्पणम्
tava pūjāṁ kariṣyāmi ēkabilvaṁ śivārpaṇam
With three branches and bilva leaves that are unbroken, tender, and auspicious,
सर्वत्रैलोक्यकर्तारं सर्वत्रैलोक्यपालनम्

नागाधिराजवलयं नागहारेण भूषितम्

Holding a rosary, O Rudra, beloved of Parvati,
त्रिलोचनं दशभुजं दुर्गादेहार्धधारिणम्

With a hundred and eight verses of praise, as is customary,
जीवन्मुक्तोभवेन्नित्यं एकबिल्वं शिवार्पणम्
jīvanmuktōbhavēnnityaṁ ēkabilvaṁ śivārpaṇam
Three times a day, one attains liberation with this single bilva leaf offered to Shiva,
अनेकदानफलदं अनन्तसुकृतादिकम्
anēkadānaphaladaṁ anantasukr̥tādikam
The earth is filled with countless crores of teeth,
तीर्थयात्राखिलं पुण्यं एकबिल्वं शिवार्पणम्
tīrthayātrākhilaṁ puṇyaṁ ēkabilvaṁ śivārpaṇam
All rituals are fulfilled with this single bilva leaf offered to Shiva,
त्वं मां पालय सर्वत्र पदध्यानकृतं तव
tvaṁ māṁ pālaya sarvatra padadhyānakr̥taṁ tava
Enjoying the desired pleasures of sons and grandsons here,
भवनं शाङ्करं नित्यं एकबिल्वं शिवार्पणम्
bhavanaṁ śāṅkaraṁ nityaṁ ēkabilvaṁ śivārpaṇam
Ultimately attaining union with Shiva, this single bilva leaf offered to Shiva,
उमयासहितं देवं सवाहनगणं शिवम्
umayāsahitaṁ dēvaṁ savāhanagaṇaṁ śivam
The fruits of wealth given by countless priests,
भस्मानुलिप्तसर्वाङ्गं एकबिल्वं शिवार्पणम्
bhasmānuliptasarvāṅgaṁ ēkabilvaṁ śivārpaṇam
May one attain that fruit, truly, with this single bilva leaf offered to Shiva,
सालग्रामसहस्राणि विप्राणां शतकोटिकम्
sālagrāmasahasrāṇi viprāṇāṁ śatakōṭikam
Whoever drinks the essence of your name and truth,
यज्ञकोटिसहस्राणि एकबिल्वं शिवार्पणम्
yajñakōṭisahasrāṇi ēkabilvaṁ śivārpaṇam
And drinks the water from your feet.
अज्ञानेन कृतं पापं ज्ञानेनापि कृतं च यत्
ajñānēna kr̥taṁ pāpaṁ jñānēnāpi kr̥taṁ ca yat
May I become eternally liberated, offering a single bilva leaf to Shiva.
तत्सर्वं नाशमायातु एकबिल्वं शिवार्पणम्
tatsarvaṁ nāśamāyātu ēkabilvaṁ śivārpaṇam
It grants countless fruits of charity and endless good deeds.
एकैकबिल्वपत्रेण कोटियज्ञफलं भवेत्
ēkaikabilvapatrēṇa kōṭiyajñaphalaṁ bhavēt
All the pilgrimage journeys are virtuous; a single bilva leaf offered to Shiva.
महादेवस्य पूजार्थं एकबिल्वं शिवार्पणम्
mahādēvasya pūjārthaṁ ēkabilvaṁ śivārpaṇam
You protect me everywhere; I meditate on your feet.
अमृतोद्भववृक्षस्य महादेवप्रियस्य च
amr̥tōdbhavavr̥kṣasya mahādēvapriyasya ca
O Shankara, may I always offer a single bilva leaf to you.
मुच्यन्ते कण्टकाघातात् कण्टकेभ्यो हि मानवाः
mucyantē kaṇṭakāghātāt kaṇṭakēbhyō hi mānavāḥ
With Uma, the divine, accompanied by the host of vehicles, may Shiva be.
एककाले पठेन्नित्यं सर्वशत्रुनिवारणम्
ēkakālē paṭhēnnityaṁ sarvaśatrunivāraṇam
With all my body smeared with ash, I offer a single bilva leaf to Shiva.
द्विकाले च पठेन्नित्यं मनोरथफलप्रदम्
dvikālē ca paṭhēnnityaṁ manōrathaphalapradam
Thousands of salagrama stones, worth millions to the Brahmins,
त्रिकाले च पठेन्नित्यं आयुर्वर्ध्यो धनप्रदम्
trikālē ca paṭhēnnityaṁ āyurvardhyō dhanapradam
And countless sacrifices, I offer a single bilva leaf to Shiva.
अचिरात्कार्यसिद्धिं च लभते नात्र संशयः
acirātkāryasiddhiṁ ca labhatē nātra saṁśayaḥ
May all the sins committed in ignorance, and those done knowingly,
एककालं द्विकालं वा त्रिकालं यः पठेन्नरः
ēkakālaṁ dvikālaṁ vā trikālaṁ yaḥ paṭhēnnaraḥ
Be destroyed; I offer a single bilva leaf to Shiva.
लक्ष्मीप्राप्तिश्शिवावासः शिवेन सह मोदते
lakṣmīprāptiśśivāvāsaḥ śivēna saha mōdatē
With each bilva leaf, may there be the fruit of a crore of sacrifices.
कोटिजन्मकृतं पापं अर्चनेन विनश्यति
kōṭijanmakr̥taṁ pāpaṁ arcanēna vinaśyati
For the worship of the great god, I offer a single bilva leaf to Shiva.
सप्तजन्मकृतं पापं श्रवणेन विनश्यति
saptajanmakr̥taṁ pāpaṁ śravaṇēna vinaśyati
From the tree of immortality, beloved of the great god,
जन्मान्तरकृतं पापं पठनेन विनश्यति
janmāntarakr̥taṁ pāpaṁ paṭhanēna vinaśyati
Humans are freed from the wounds of thorns, indeed from thorns.
दिवारात्रकृतं पापं दर्शनेन विनश्यति
divārātrakr̥taṁ pāpaṁ darśanēna vinaśyati
Reading it alone every day wards off all enemies.
क्षणेक्षणेकृतं पापं स्मरणेन विनश्यति
kṣaṇēkṣaṇēkr̥taṁ pāpaṁ smaraṇēna vinaśyati
Reading it twice daily grants the fruits of one's desires.
पुस्तकं धारयेद्देही आरोग्यं भयनाशनम्
pustakaṁ dhārayēddēhī ārōgyaṁ bhayanāśanam
Reading it three times daily increases longevity and bestows wealth.
येमामनन्य शरणास्सततं वरेण्यं
yēmāmananya śaraṇāssatataṁ varēṇyaṁ
Without doubt, one quickly attains success in their endeavors.
सम्पूजयन्ति नवकोमल बिल्वपत्रैः
sampūjayanti navakōmala bilvapatraiḥ
Whoever reads it once, twice, or thrice,
ते निर्गुणा:'पि गुणां बुधयो भवन्ति
tē nirguṇā:'pi guṇāṁ budhayō bhavanti
Attains wealth and resides with Shiva, rejoicing with Him.
विन्दन्ति भक्तिमनुभुक्त समस्त भोगाः
vindanti bhaktimanubhukta samasta bhōgāḥ
The sins accumulated over crores of lifetimes are destroyed through worship.
इति बिल्वाष्टोत्तरशतनामस्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णम्
iti bilvāṣṭōttaraśatanāmastōtraṁ sampūrṇam
The sins accumulated over seven lifetimes are destroyed through listening.
