Deva Krita Shiva Stotram
The stotra is a tribute to Lord Shiva, focusing on the divine qualities that lead to spiritual elevation.
देवा ऊचुः । नमो देवादिदेवाय त्रिनेत्राय महात्मने ।
dēvā ūcuḥ
Salutations to the supreme deity of deities, the great soul with the third eye.
रक्तपिङ्गलनेत्राय जटामकुटधारिणे ॥ १ ॥
namō dēvādidēvāya trinētrāya mahātmanē
Salutations to the one with blood-red eyes, the bearer of the matted crown.
भूतवेतालजुष्टाय महाभोगोपवीतिने ।
raktapiṅgalanētrāya jaṭāmakuṭadhāriṇē
Salutations to the one who is surrounded by ghosts and spirits, the great enjoyer adorned with the sacred thread.
भीमाट्टहासवक्त्राय कपर्दि स्थाणवे नमः ॥ २ ॥
bhūtavētālajuṣṭāya mahābhōgōpavītinē
Salutations to the one with a terrifying mouth, the one with matted hair.
पूषदन्तविनाशाय भगनेत्रहने नमः ।
bhīmāṭ-ṭahāsavaktrāya kapardi sthāṇavē namaḥ
Salutations to the one who destroys the teeth of the sun, the one who has a beautiful face.
भविष्यद्वृषचिह्नाय महाभूतपते नमः ॥ ३ ॥
pūṣadantavināśāya bhaganētrahanē namaḥ
Salutations to the one who bears the mark of the future bull, the lord of the great elements.
भविष्यत्त्रिपुरान्ताय तथान्धकविनाशिने ।
bhaviṣyadvr̥ṣacihnāya mahābhūtapatē namaḥ
Salutations to the one who will destroy Tripura, as well as the darkness.
कैलासवरवासाय करिकृत्तिनिवासिने ॥ ४ ॥
bhaviṣyattripurāntāya tathāndhakavināśinē
Salutations to the one who resides on Mount Kailash, the one who dwells in the heart of the earth.
विकरालोर्ध्वकेशाय भैरवाय नमो नमः ।
kailāsavaravāsāya karikr̥ttinivāsinē
Salutations, salutations to the terrifying one with upward hair, to Bhairava.
अग्निज्वालाकरालाय शशिमौलिकृते नमः ॥ ५ ॥
vikarālōrdhvakēśāya bhairavāya namō namaḥ
Salutations to the one who has a fiery, radiant form, adorned with the moon.
भविष्यत् कृतकापालिव्रताय परमेष्ठिने ।
agnijvālākarālāya śaśimaulikr̥tē namaḥ
Salutations to the one who has taken the vow of the future, the supreme lord.
तथा दारुवनध्वंसकारिणे तिग्मशूलिने ॥ ६ ॥
bhaviṣyat kr̥takāpālivratāya paramēṣṭhinē
Salutations to the one who destroys the wood, the one with the sharp trident.
कृतकङ्कणभोगीन्द्र नीलकण्ठ त्रिशूलिने ।
tathā dāruvanadhvaṁsakāriṇē tigmaśūlinē
Salutations to the one who is the lord of the jeweled anklets, the blue-throated one with the trident.
प्रचण्डदण्डहस्ताय बडबाग्निमुखाय च ॥ ७ ॥
kr̥takaṅkaṇabhōgīndra nīlakaṇṭha triśūlinē
Salutations to the one with a fierce staff, to the one with a great fiery face.
वेदान्तवेद्याय नमो यज्ञमूर्ते नमो नमः ।
pracaṇḍadaṇḍahastāya baḍabāgnimukhāya ca
Salutations to the essence of the Vedas, salutations to the form of sacrifice.
दक्षयज्ञविनाशाय जगद्भयकराय च ॥ ८ ॥
vēdāntavēdyāya namō yajñamūrtē namō namaḥ
Salutations to the destroyer of the sacrifice of Daksha, and to the one who brings fear to the world.
विश्वेश्वराय देवाय शिव शम्भो भवाय च ।
dakṣayajñavināśāya jagadbhayakarāya ca
To the Lord of all, to the divine, to Shiva, to Shambhu, to the one who is becoming.
कपर्दिने करालाय महादेवाय ते नमः ॥ ९ ॥
viśvēśvarāya dēvāya śiva śambhō bhavāya ca
Salutations to the one with matted hair, to the fierce one, to the great God.
एवं देवैः स्तुतः शम्भुरुग्रधन्वा सनातनः ।
kapardinē karālāya mahādēvāya tē namaḥ
Thus praised by the gods, Shambhu, the eternal one with a fierce bow,
उवाच देवदेवोयं यत्करोमि तदुच्यते ॥ १० ॥
ēvaṁ dēvaiḥ stutaḥ śambhurugradhanvā sanātanaḥ
Spoke: "Whatever I do, that is what is said."
इति श्रीवराहपुराणे देवकृत शिवस्तोत्रम् ।
uvāca dēvadēvōyaṁ yatkarōmi taducyatē
