Devarshi Kruta Gajanana Stotram
The stotra venerates Ganesha as the remover of obstacles and the bestower of wisdom.
श्री गणेश स्तोत्राणि
dēvarṣaya ūcuḥ
The one who takes the form of a Vidēha, the remover of worldly bondage,
देवर्षय ऊचुः ।
vidēharūpaṁ bhavabandhahāraṁ sadā svaniṣṭhaṁ svasukhapradaṁ tam
Always steadfast, granting happiness to oneself, we worship him,
विदेहरूपं भवबन्धहारं
amēyasāṅkhyēna ca labhyamīśaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The one who is attainable by countless means,
सदा स्वनिष्ठं स्वसुखप्रदं तम् ।
munīndravandyaṁ vidhibōdhahīnaṁ subuddhidaṁ buddhidharaṁ praśāntam
Gajānana, endowed with devotion, we worship.
अमेयसाङ्ख्येन च लभ्यमीशं
vikālahīnaṁ sakalāntagaṁ vai gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The one who is revered by the greatest sages, beyond the grasp of rules,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १ ॥
amēyarūpaṁ hr̥di saṁsthitaṁ taṁ brahmāhamēkaṁ bhramanāśakāram
The one who is wise, the bearer of intellect, and tranquil,
मुनीन्द्रवन्द्यं विधिबोधहीनं
anādimadhyāntamapārarūpaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The one who is free from all imperfections and encompasses all,
सुबुद्धिदं बुद्धिधरं प्रशान्तम् ।
jagatpramāṇaṁ jagadīśamēva- -magamyamādyaṁ jagadādihīnam
Gajānana, endowed with devotion, we worship.
विकालहीनं सकलान्तगं वै
anātmanāṁ mōhapradaṁ purāṇaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The one who is immeasurable, residing in the heart,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ २ ॥
na bhūrna rūpaṁ na jalaṁ prakāśaṁ na tējasisthaṁ na samīraṇastham
The one who is Brahman alone, the destroyer of delusion,
अमेयरूपं हृदि संस्थितं तं
na khē gataṁ pañcavibhūtihīnaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The one who is without beginning, middle, or end,
ब्रह्माहमेकं भ्रमनाशकारम् ।
na viśvagaṁ taijasagaṁ na prājñaṁ samaṣṭivyaṣṭisthamanantagaṁ na
Gajānana, endowed with devotion, we worship.
अनादिमध्यान्तमपाररूपं
guṇairvihīnaṁ paramārthabhūtaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The one who is the measure of the universe, the Lord of all,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ ३ ॥
guṇēśagaṁ naiva ca bindusaṁsthaṁ na dēhinaṁ bōdhamayaṁ na ḍhuṇḍhim
The one who is the first, devoid of the world,
जगत्प्रमाणं जगदीशमेव-
samyōgahīnāḥ pravadanti tatsthaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The ancient one, who gives delusion to the non-self,
-मगम्यमाद्यं जगदादिहीनम् ।
anāgataṁ naiva gataṁ gaṇēśaṁ kathaṁ tadākāramayaṁ vadāmaḥ
Gajānana, endowed with devotion, we worship.
अनात्मनां मोहप्रदं पुराणं
tathāpi sarvaṁ prabhudēhasaṁsthaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
Neither the earth nor form, nor light of water,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ ४ ॥
yadi tvayā nātha kr̥taṁ na kiñci- -ttadā kathaṁ sarvamidaṁ vibhāti
Neither the essence of fire nor the breath of air,
न भूर्न रूपं न जलं प्रकाशं
atō mahātmānamacintyamēva gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
Neither the sky nor the five elements devoid of essence,
न तेजसिस्थं न समीरणस्थम् ।
susiddhidaṁ bhaktajanasya dēvaṁ sa kāmikānāmiha saukhyadaṁ tam
Gajānana, endowed with devotion, we worship.
न खे गतं पञ्चविभूतिहीनं
akāmikānāṁ bhavabandhahāraṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
Neither the universal, nor the radiant, nor the wise,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ ५ ॥
surēndrasēvyaṁ hyasuraiḥ susēvyaṁ samānabhāvēna virājayantam
Neither the collective nor the individual, the infinite one,
न विश्वगं तैजसगं न प्राज्ञं
anantavāhaṁ muṣakadhvajaṁ taṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The one devoid of qualities, the ultimate reality,
समष्टिव्यष्टिस्थमनन्तगं न ।
sadā sukhānandamayē jalē ca samudrajē cēkṣurasē nivāsam
Gajānana, endowed with devotion, we worship.
गुणैर्विहीनं परमार्थभूतं
dvandvasya pānēna ca nāśarūpē gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
Not even the Lord of qualities, nor the point of existence,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ ६ ॥
catuḥpadārthā vividhaprakāśā- -sta ēva hastāḥ sa caturbhujaṁ tam
Neither the embodied nor the conscious, nor the formless,
गुणेशगं नैव च बिन्दुसंस्थं
anāthanāthaṁ ca mahōdaraṁ vai gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
Those who speak of him as devoid of union,
न देहिनं बोधमयं न ढुण्ढिम् ।
mahākhumārūḍhamakālakālaṁ vidēhayōgēna ca labhyamānam
Gajānana, endowed with devotion, we worship.
सम्योगहीनाः प्रवदन्ति तत्स्थं
amāyinaṁ māyikamōhadaṁ taṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The future is not, nor is the past, O Ganesha,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ ७ ॥
ravisvarūpaṁ ravibhāsahīnaṁ harisvarūpaṁ haribōdhahīnam
How can we speak of that which is in form?
अनागतं नैव गतं गणेशं
śivasvarūpaṁ śivabhāsanāśaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
Yet everything is established in the Supreme Being,
कथं तदाकारमयं वदामः ।
mahēśvarīsthaṁ ca suśaktihīnaṁ prabhuṁ parēśaṁ paravandyamēvam
We worship the elephant-faced one with devotion.
तथापि सर्वं प्रभुदेहसंस्थं
acālakaṁ cālakabījabhūtaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
If, O Lord, nothing is done by you,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ ८ ॥
śivādidēvaiśca khagaiḥ suvandyaṁ narairlatāvr̥kṣapaśuprabhūbhiḥ
Then how does all this manifest?
यदि त्वया नाथ कृतं न किञ्चि-
carācarairlōkavihīnamēvaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
Therefore, we worship the great soul,
-त्तदा कथं सर्वमिदं विभाति ।
manōvacōhīnatayā susaṁsthaṁ nivr̥ttimātraṁ hyajamavyayaṁ tam
The elephant-faced one with devotion.
अतो महात्मानमचिन्त्यमेव
tathāpi dēvaṁ pura āsthitaṁ taṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The deity who grants success to devotees,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ ९ ॥
vayaṁ sudhanyā gaṇapastavēna tathaiva natyārcanatastavaiva
He is the one who brings happiness to those who desire.
सुसिद्धिदं भक्तजनस्य देवं
gaṇēśarūpāśca kr̥tāstvayā taṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
He is the liberator from worldly bondage for the unattached,
स कामिकानामिह सौख्यदं तम् ।
gajākhyabījaṁ pravadanti vēdā- -stadēva cihnēna ca yōginastvām
We worship the elephant-faced one with devotion.
अकामिकानां भवबन्धहारं
gacchanti tēnaiva gajānanastvaṁ gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
Worshipped by the lord of gods, well-served by the divine,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १० ॥
purāṇavēdāḥ śivaviṣṇukādyā- -:'marāḥ śukādyā gaṇapastavē vai
He shines with equal presence,
सुरेन्द्रसेव्यं ह्यसुरैः सुसेव्यं
vikuṇṭhitāḥ kiṁ ca vayaṁ stavāma gajānanaṁ bhaktiyutā bhajāmaḥ
The one with the infinite vehicle, the mouse as his flag,
समानभावेन विराजयन्तम् ।
mudgala uvāca
We worship the elephant-faced one with devotion.
अनन्तवाहं मुषकध्वजं तं
ēvaṁ stutvā gaṇēśānaṁ nēmuḥ sarvē punaḥ punaḥ
Always in the ocean of bliss and happiness,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ ११ ॥
tānutthāpya vacō ramyaṁ gajānana uvāca ha
In the abode of the ocean,
सदा सुखानन्दमये जले च
gajānana uvāca
By the nectar of duality, in the form of destruction,
समुद्रजे चेक्षुरसे निवासम् ।
varaṁ brūta mahābhāgā dēvāḥ sarṣigaṇāḥ param
We worship the elephant-faced one with devotion.
द्वन्द्वस्य पानेन च नाशरूपे
stōtrēṇa prītisamyuktaḥ paraṁ dāsyāmi vāñchitam
The fourfold objects of various illuminations,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १२ ॥
gajānanavacaḥ śrutvā harṣayuktāḥ surarṣayaḥ
Those hands indeed are he, the four-armed one,
चतुःपदार्था विविधप्रकाशा-
jagustaṁ bhaktibhāvēna sāśrunētrāḥ prajāpatē
The protector of the helpless, the great ocean of compassion,
-स्त एव हस्ताः स चतुर्भुजं तम् ।
dēvarṣaya ūcuḥ
We worship the elephant-faced one with devotion.
अनाथनाथं च महोदरं वै
gajānana yadi svāmin prasannō varadō:'si bhōḥ
The great child, the one who transcends time,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १३ ॥
tadā bhaktiṁ dr̥ḍhāṁ dēhi lōbhahīnāṁ tvadīyakām
Attainable through the yoga of the wise,
महाखुमारूढमकालकालं
lōbhāsurasya dēvēśa kr̥tā śāntiḥ sukhapradā
The one who is beyond illusion, the deluder of the mind,
विदेहयोगेन च लभ्यमानम् ।
tadā jagadidaṁ sarvaṁ varayuktaṁ kr̥taṁ tvayā
We worship the elephant-faced one with devotion.
अमायिनं मायिकमोहदं तं
adhunā dēvadēvēśa karmayuktā dvijādayaḥ
The form of the sun, devoid of the sun's radiance,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १४ ॥
bhaviṣyanti dharāyāṁ vai vayaṁ svasthānagāstathā
The form of Hari, devoid of the knowledge of Hari.
रविस्वरूपं रविभासहीनं
svasvadharmaratāḥ sarvē gajānana kr̥tāstvayā
We worship the form of Shiva, the one who embodies auspiciousness,
हरिस्वरूपं हरिबोधहीनम् ।
ataḥparaṁ varaṁ yācāmahē ḍhuṇḍhē kamapyahō
With devotion, we bow to Gajanan, the Lord of all.
शिवस्वरूपं शिवभासनाशं
yadā tē smaraṇaṁ nātha kariṣyāmō vayaṁ prabhō
He who resides in Maheshvara, devoid of any weakness,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १५ ॥
tadā saṅkaṭahīnān vai kuru tvaṁ nō gajānana
The supreme Lord, the one who is to be revered.
महेश्वरीस्थं च सुशक्तिहीनं
ēvamuktvā praṇēmustaṁ gajānanamanāmayam
Unmoving yet the seed of all movement,
प्रभुं परेशं परवन्द्यमेवम् ।
sa tānuvāca prītātmā bhaktyadhīnasvabhāvataḥ
With devotion, we bow to Gajanan, the Lord of all.
अचालकं चालकबीजभूतं
gajānana uvāca
He is worshipped by the divine beings,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १६ ॥
yadyacca prārthitaṁ dēvā munayaḥ sarvamañjasā
By men, trees, and animals alike.
शिवादिदेवैश्च खगैः सुवन्द्यं
bhaviṣyati na sandēhō matsmr̥tyā sarvadā hi vaḥ
This being, devoid of all worldly attachments,
नरैर्लतावृक्षपशुप्रभूभिः ।
bhavatkr̥tamadīyaṁ vai stōtraṁ sarvatra siddhidam
With devotion, we bow to Gajanan, the Lord of all.
चराचरैर्लोकविहीनमेवं
bhaviṣyati viśēṣēṇa mama bhaktipradāyakam
He is established in the mind and speech,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १७ ॥
putrapautrapradaṁ pūrṇaṁ dhanadhānyavivardhanam
The essence of renunciation, the eternal, unchanging one.
मनोवचोहीनतया सुसंस्थं
sarvasampatkaraṁ dēvāḥ paṭhanācchravaṇānnr̥ṇām
Yet, he is the deity who resides in the city,
निवृत्तिमात्रं ह्यजमव्ययं तम् ।
māraṇōccāṭanādīni naśyanti stōtrapāṭhataḥ
With devotion, we bow to Gajanan, the Lord of all.
तथापि देवं पुर आस्थितं तं
parakr̥tyaṁ ca viprēndrā aśubhaṁ naiva bādhatē
We, the fortunate ones, sing your praises,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १८ ॥
saṅgrāmē jayadaṁ caiva yātrākālē phalapradam
And in the same way, we worship you with our dance.
वयं सुधन्या गणपस्तवेन
śatrūccāṭanakādyēṣu praśastaṁ tadbhaviṣyati
You, who take the form of Ganesha, are created by you,
तथैव नत्यार्चनतस्तवैव ।
kārāgr̥hagatasyaiva bandhanāśakaraṁ bhavēt
With devotion, we bow to Gajanan, the Lord of all.
गणेशरूपाश्च कृतास्त्वया तं
asādhyaṁ sādhayēt sarvamanēnaiva surarṣayaḥ
The Vedas declare you as the seed of the elephant,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ १९ ॥
ēkaviṁśativāraṁ caikaviṁśati dināvadhim
And by that very mark, the yogis approach you.
गजाख्यबीजं प्रवदन्ति वेदा-
prayōgaṁ yaḥ karōtyēva sa bhavēt sarvasiddhibhāk
Through that, they reach you, Gajanan,
-स्तदेव चिह्नेन च योगिनस्त्वाम् ।
dharmārthakāmamōkṣāṇāṁ brahmabhūtasya dāyakam
With devotion, we bow to Gajanan, the Lord of all.
गच्छन्ति तेनैव गजाननस्त्वं
bhaviṣyati na sandēhaḥ stōtraṁ madbhaktivardhanam
The ancient Vedas speak of Shiva, Vishnu, and others,
गजाननं भक्तियुता भजामः ॥ २० ॥
ēvamuktvā gaṇādhīśastatraivāntaradhīyata
And the celestial beings like parrots indeed praise you.
पुराणवेदाः शिवविष्णुकाद्या-
iti śrīmanmudgalapurāṇē gajānanacaritē tricatvāriṁśō:'dhyāyē dēvamunikr̥ta gajānanastōtraṁ sampūrṇam
We too, in our turn, sing your praises,
