The cause speaks.
न रूपं न दानं न परोकŚमसति यसया..तमभूतं छ पदारथजातम
na rūpaṃ na dānaṃ na parokŚamasti yasyā.a.atmabhūtaṃ cha padārthajātam
Neither form nor wealth, nor the fleeting pleasures of the world, can compare to that which is born from the essence of the sacred.
शननति हवयानि छ येन देवाः सवाहापतिं यज्ञभुजं नमसये
aśnanti havyāni cha yena devāḥ svāhāpatiṃ yajñabhujaṃ namasye
With reverence, I offer my prayers to the divine, who consumes the offerings, the lord of sacrifice.
मुखभूतं छ देवानां देवानां हवयवाहनम
mukhabhūtaṃ cha devānāṃ devānāṃ havyavāhanam
The embodiment of the divine, the bearer of offerings, the one who carries the prayers of the gods.
होतारं छापि देवानां देवानां दूतमेव छ
hotāraṃ chāpi devānāṃ devānāṃ dūtameva cha
The priest of the gods, the messenger of the divine, who guides the offerings to the heavens.
तं देवं शरणं यामि ादिदेवं विभावसुम
taṃ devaṃ śaraṇaṃ yāmi ādidevaṃ vibhāvasum
To that divine being, I take refuge, the primordial deity, the luminous one.
नतःसथितः पराणरूपो बहिशछाननपरदो हि यः
antaḥsthitaḥ prāṇarūpo bahiśchānnaprado hi yaḥ
He who resides in the heart, the essence of life, is indeed the one who transcends all.
यो यज्ञसाधनं यामि शरणं तं धनञजयम
yo yajñasādhanaṃ yāmi śaraṇaṃ taṃ dhanañjayam
I seek refuge in him, the one who fulfills the sacrifices, the victorious one.
