Indra Krita Shiva Stuti
This stuti is a prayer composed by Indra, praising Lord Shiva's power and seeking his blessings for protection and prosperity.
नमामि सर्वे शरणार्थिनो वयं
namāmi sarvē śaraṇārthinō vayaṁ mahēśvara tryambaka bhūtabhāvana
I bow to all those who seek refuge.
महेश्वर त्र्यम्बक भूतभावन ।
umāpatē viśvapatē marutpatē jagatpatē śaṅkara pāhi nassvayam
O Maheshvara, the three-eyed, the creator of all beings,
उमापते विश्वपते मरुत्पते
jaṭākalāpāgra śaśāṅkadīdhiti prakāśitāśēṣajagattrayāmala
O Umāpatē, O lord of the universe, O lord of the winds,
जगत्पते शङ्कर पाहि नस्स्वयम् ॥ १ ॥
triśūlapāṇē puruṣōttamā:'cyuta prapāhinō daityabhayādupasthitāt
O lord of the world, O Shankara, protect us yourself.
जटाकलापाग्र शशाङ्कदीधिति
tvamādidēvaḥ puruṣōttamō hari- rbhavō mahēśastripurāntakō vibhuḥ
With matted hair, shining like the moon,
प्रकाशिताशेषजगत्त्रयामल ।
bhagākṣahā daityaripuḥ purātanō vr̥ṣadhvajaḥ pāhi surōttamōttama
You illuminate the entire three worlds.
त्रिशूलपाणे पुरुषोत्तमाऽच्युत
girīśajānātha giripriyāpriya prabhō samastāmaralōkapūjita
O supreme person, bearer of the trident,
प्रपाहिनो दैत्यभयादुपस्थितात् ॥ २ ॥
gaṇēśa bhūtēśa śivākṣayāvyaya prapāhi nō daityavarāntakā:'cyuta
Protect us from the fear of demons that approach.
त्वमादिदेवः पुरुषोत्तमो हरि-
pr̥thvyāditattvēṣu bhavān pratiṣṭhitō dhvanisvarūpō gaganē viśēṣataḥ
You are the primordial deity, the supreme person, O Hari,
र्भवो महेशस्त्रिपुरान्तको विभुः ।
linō dvidhā tējasi sa tridhājalē catuḥkṣitau pañcaguṇapradhānaḥ
You are the great Maheshvara, the destroyer of Tripura, the omnipresent.
भगाक्षहा दैत्यरिपुः पुरातनो
agnisvarūpōsi tarau tathōpalē sattvasvarūpōsi tathā tilēṣvapi
You are the ancient enemy of the demons,
वृषध्वजः पाहि सुरोत्तमोत्तम ॥ ३ ॥
tailasvarūpō bhagavān mahēśvaraḥ prapāhi nō daityagaṇārditān hara
O lord with the bull emblem, protect the best of the gods.
गिरीशजानाथ गिरिप्रियाप्रिय
nāsīdyadākāṇḍamidaṁ trilōcana prabhākarēndrēndu vināpi vā kutaḥ
O lord of the mountains, beloved of the mountain,
प्रभो समस्तामरलोकपूजित ।
tadā bhavānēva viruddhalōcana pramādabādhādivivarjitaḥ sthitaḥ
You are worshipped by all the celestial beings.
गणेश भूतेश शिवाक्षयाव्यय
kapālamālin śaśikhaṇḍaśēkhara śmaśānavāsin sitabhasmagumbhita
O Ganesha, O lord of beings, O eternal and imperishable Shiva,
प्रपाहि नो दैत्यवरान्तकाऽच्युत ॥ ४ ॥
phaṇīndrasaṁvītatanōntakāntaka prapāhi nō dakṣadhiyā surēśvara
Protect us from the demons and their great torment.
पृथ्व्यादितत्त्वेषु भवान् प्रतिष्ठितो
bhavān pumān śaktiriyaṁ girēssutā sarvāṅgarūpā bhagavan-stadātvayi
You are established in the principles of the earth and others,
ध्वनिस्वरूपो गगने विशेषतः ।
triśūlarūpēṇa jagadbhayaṅkarē sthitaṁ trinētrēṣu makhāgnayastrayaḥ
You are the essence of sound in the sky, especially.
लिनो द्विधा तेजसि स त्रिधाजले
jaṭāsvarūpēṇa samastasāgarāḥ kulācalāssindhuvahāśca sarvaśaḥ
You are merged in the light, divided in the waters,
चतुःक्षितौ पञ्चगुणप्रधानः ॥ ५ ॥
śarīrajaṁ jñānamidaṁ tvavasthitaṁ tadēva paśyanti kudr̥ṣṭa yō janāḥ
You are the primary element in the four quarters of the earth.
अग्निस्वरूपोसि तरौ तथोपले
nārāyaṇastvaṁ jagatāṁ samudbhava- stathā bhavānēva caturmukhō mahān
You are the form of fire in trees and in stones,
सत्त्वस्वरूपोसि तथा तिलेष्वपि ।
sattvādibhēdēna tathāgnibhēditō yugādibhēdēna ca saṁsthitastridhā
You are the essence of existence, even in sesame seeds.
तैलस्वरूपो भगवान् महेश्वरः
bhavantamētē suranāyakāḥ prabhō bhavārthinō:'nyasya vadanti tōṣayan
You are the essence of oil, O great Maheshvara,
प्रपाहि नो दैत्यगणार्दितान् हर ॥ ६ ॥
yatastatōnō bhava bhūtibhūṣaṇa praprāhi viśvēśvara rudra tē namaḥ
Protect us from the torments of the demon hosts, O Hara.
नासीद्यदाकाण्डमिदं त्रिलोचन
iti śrī varāhapurāṇē indrādikr̥ta śivastutiḥ
What is this unbroken darkness, O three-eyed one?
