Kalki Krita Shiva Stotram
The stotra praises Lord Shiva, focusing on his role as a protector and source of strength.
गौरीनाथं विश्वनाथं शरण्यं
gaurīnāthaṁ viśvanāthaṁ śaraṇyaṁ bhūtāvāsaṁ vāsukīkaṇṭhabhūṣam
I bow to Gaurinatha, the Lord of the Universe, the refuge of all,
भूतावासं वासुकीकण्ठभूषम् ।
tryakṣaṁ pañcāsyādidēvaṁ purāṇaṁ vandē sāndrānandasandōhadakṣam
the abode of spirits, adorned with the serpent around his neck.
त्र्यक्षं पञ्चास्यादिदेवं पुराणं
yōgādhīśaṁ kāmanāśaṁ karālaṁ gaṅgāsaṅgaklinnamūrdhānamīśam
I bow to the three-eyed, the ancient deity,
वन्दे सान्द्रानन्दसन्दोहदक्षम् ॥ १ ॥
jaṭājūṭāṭōparikṣiptabhāvaṁ mahākālaṁ candraphālaṁ namāmi
who is the essence of supreme bliss and the source of joy.
योगाधीशं कामनाशं करालं
śmaśānasthaṁ bhūtavētālasaṅgaṁ nānāśastraiḥ khaḍgaśūlādibhiśca
I bow to the Lord of Yoga, the destroyer of desires, the fierce one,
गङ्गासङ्गक्लिन्नमूर्धानमीशम् ।
vyagrātyugrā bāhavō lōkanāśē yasya krōdhōdbhūtalōkē:'stamēti
whose head is drenched in the waters of the Ganges.
जटाजूटाटोपरिक्षिप्तभावं
yō bhūtādiḥ pañcabhūtaiḥ sisr̥kṣu- stanmātrātmā kālakarmasvabhāvaiḥ
I bow to the great time, the moon-like one,
महाकालं चन्द्रफालं नमामि ॥ २ ॥
prahr̥tyēdaṁ prāpya jīvatvamīśō brahmānandē ramatē taṁ namāmi
who is adorned with matted locks and exhibits a fierce form.
श्मशानस्थं भूतवेतालसङ्गं
sthitau viṣṇuḥ sarvajiṣṇuḥ surātmā lōkānsādhūn dharmasētūnbibharṣi
I bow to the one who resides in the cremation ground, surrounded by spirits and ghosts,
नानाशस्त्रैः खड्गशूलादिभिश्च ।
brahmādyaṁśē yō:'bhimānī guṇātmā śabdādyaṅgaistaṁ parēśaṁ namāmi
armed with various weapons like swords and tridents.
व्यग्रात्युग्रा बाहवो लोकनाशे
yasyājñayā vāyavō vāti lōkē jvalatyagniḥ savitā yāti tapyan
With fierce arms, he destroys the worlds,
यस्य क्रोधोद्भूतलोकेऽस्तमेति ॥ ३ ॥
śītāṁśuḥ khē tārakā saṅgrahaśca pravartantē taṁ parēśaṁ prapadyē
and when his anger arises, the worlds are engulfed in darkness.
यो भूतादिः पञ्चभूतैः सिसृक्षु-
yasya śvāsātsarvadhātrī dharitrī dēvō varṣatyambukālaḥ pramātā
He who is the origin of all beings,
स्तन्मात्रात्मा कालकर्मस्वभावैः ।
mērōrmadhyē bhūvanānāṁ ca bhartā tamīśānaṁ viśvarūpaṁ namāmi
who creates from the five elements,
प्रहृत्येदं प्राप्य जीवत्वमीशो
iti śrīkalkipurāṇē kalkikr̥ta śivastōtram
whose essence is the nature of time and action,
