थ शरीमदपपययदीकŚितविरछितं महामहिमानवितं ादितयसतोत्रम
atha śrīmadappayyadīkŚitavirachitaṃ mahāmahimānvitaṃ ādityastotram
This stotra, adorned with the great glory of the sun, is a hymn of praise to Aditya.
विसतारायाममानं दशभिरुपगतो योजनानां सहसरैः छकरे पञछारनाभित्रितयवति लसन नेमिŚटके निविŚटः
vistārāyāmamānaṃ daśabhirupagato yojanānāṃ sahasraiḥ chakre pañchāranābhitritayavati lasan nemiŚaṭke niviŚṭaḥ
As the vastness of the sky is embraced by the ten directions, so does the sun illuminate the world with countless rays.
सपतछCहनदसतुरङगाहितवहनधुरो हायनांशत्रिवरग वयकताकḹपताखिलाङगः सफुरतु मम पुरः सयनदनशछणडभानोः
saptachChandasturaṅgāhitavahanadhuro hāyanāṃśatrivarga vyaktākḹptākhilāṅgaḥ sphuratu mama puraḥ syandanaśchaṇḍabhānoḥ
May the radiant sun, who bears the weight of the heavens, bless me with his brilliance, as I bow before him.
ादितयैरपसरोभिरमुनिभिरहिवरैरगरामणीयातुधानैः गनधरवैरवालखिलयैः परिवृ^ितदशमांशसय कृ^ितसनं रथसय
ādityairapsarobhirmunibhirahivarairgrāmaṇīyātudhānaiḥ gandharvairvālakhilyaiḥ parivṛ^itadaśamāṃśasya kṛ^itsnaṃ rathasya
With the sun's rays, adorned by the sages and celestial beings, may my chariot of devotion be filled with the essence of the divine.
मधयं वयापयाधितिŚठन मणिरिव नभसो मणडलशछणडरशमेः बरहमजयोतिरविवरतः शरुतिनिकरघनीभावरूपः समिनधे
madhyaṃ vyāpyādhitiŚṭhan maṇiriva nabhaso maṇḍalaśchaṇḍaraśmeḥ brahmajyotirvivartaḥ śrutinikaraghanībhāvarūpaḥ samindhe
In the center of the universe, like a gem in the sky, shines the sun, the source of all light, illuminating the realms.
वरŚनतसतोयमुŚणं तुहिनमपि जलानयापिबनतः समनतात पित्रादीनां सवधौŚधयमृ^ितरसकृ^ितो भानति कानतिपररोहाः
varŚantastoyamuŚṇaṃ tuhinamapi jalānyāpibantaḥ samantāt pitrādīnāṃ svadhauŚadhyamṛ^itarasakṛ^ito bhānti kāntiprarohāḥ
Even the cold of winter cannot resist the sun's warmth; may he bring forth the essence of life to all beings.
शरेŚठासतेŚां सहसरे त्रिदिववसुधयोः पञछदिगवयापतिभाजां शुभरांशुं तारकौघं शशितनयमुखान पञछ छोदभासयनतः
śreŚṭhāsteŚāṃ sahasre tridivavasudhayoḥ pañchadigvyāptibhājāṃ śubhrāṃśuṃ tārakaughaṃ śaśitanayamukhān pañcha chodbhāsayantaḥ
In the vastness of the heavens, the sun shines brightly, a beacon of hope, guiding the souls of the three worlds.
ारोगो भराजमुखयासत्रिभुवनदहने सपतसूरया भवनतः सरवान वयाधीन सुŚुमनापरभृ^ितय िह मे सूरयपादाः कŚिपनतु
ārogo bhrājamukhyāstribhuvanadahane saptasūryā bhavantaḥ sarvān vyādhīn suŚumnāprabhṛ^itaya iha me sūryapādāḥ kŚipantu
May the sun, the destroyer of ailments, bless me with health and strength, as I seek refuge in his divine light.
ादितयानाशरिताः Śणणवतिगुणसहसरानविता रशमयो.नये मासे मासे विभकतासत्रिभुवनभवनं पावयनतः सफुरनति
ādityānāśritāḥ Śaṇṇavatiguṇasahasrānvitā raśmayo.anye māse māse vibhaktāstribhuvanabhavanaṃ pāvayantaḥ sphuranti
The sun, adorned with countless rays, purifies the three worlds, bringing forth prosperity and joy.
येŚां भुवयपरछारे जगदवनकृ^ितां सपतरशमयुतथितानां संसरपे छाधिमासे वरतयजनमुखाः सतकरियाः न करियनते
yeŚāṃ bhuvyaprachāre jagadavanakṛ^itāṃ saptaraśmyutthitānāṃ saṃsarpe chādhimāse vratayajanamukhāḥ satkriyāḥ na kriyante
Those who chant this hymn, filled with devotion, shall find liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
ादितयं मणडलानतःसफुरदरुणवपुसतेजसा वयापतविशवं परातरमधयाहनसायं समयविभजनादृ^िगयजुससामसेवयम
ādityaṃ maṇḍalāntaḥsphuradaruṇavapustejasā vyāptaviśvaṃ prātarmadhyāhnasāyaṃ samayavibhajanādṛ^igyajussāmasevyam
The sun, the essence of all, shines forth, illuminating the path of righteousness for all who seek him.
परापयं छ परापकं छ परथितमतिपथिज्ञानिनामुततरसमिन साकŚाद बरहमेतयुपासयं सकलभयहराभयुदगमं संशरयामि
prāpyaṃ cha prāpakaṃ cha prathitamatipathijñānināmuttarasmin sākŚād brahmetyupāsyaṃ sakalabhayaharābhyudgamaṃ saṃśrayāmi
I meditate upon the supreme Brahman, who dispels all fears and grants liberation to those who worship him.
यछCहकतया.धिŚठितानां तपनहिमजलोतसरजनादिरजगतयाम ादितयानामशेŚः परभवति नियतः सवसवमासाधिकारः
yachChaktyā.adhiŚṭhitānāṃ tapanahimajalotsarjanādirjagatyām ādityānāmaśeŚaḥ prabhavati niyataḥ svasvamāsādhikāraḥ
In the realm of the sun, where the waters of life flow, may the divine light guide us on our journey.
यत पराधानयं वयनकति सवयमपि भगवान दवादशसतेŚु भूतवा तं त्रैलोकयसय मूलं परणमत परमं दैवतं सपतसपतिम
yat prādhānyaṃ vyanakti svayamapi bhagavān dvādaśasteŚu bhūtvā taṃ trailokyasya mūlaṃ praṇamata paramaṃ daivataṃ saptasaptim
To the supreme Lord, the source of all beings, I bow, for he is the essence of the three worlds.
सवःसत्रीगनधरवयकŚा मुनिवरभुजगा यातुधानाशछ नितयं नृ^िततैरगीतैरभीशुगरहनुतिवहनैरगरतः सेवया छ
svaḥstrīgandharvayakŚā munivarabhujagā yātudhānāścha nityaṃ nṛ^ittairgītairabhīśugrahanutivahanairagrataḥ sevayā cha
With the grace of the sun, may the celestial beings and sages bless us with their divine presence.
यसय परीतिं वितनवनतयमितपरिकरा दवादश दवादशैते हृ^िदयाभिरवालखिलयाः सरणिभणितिभिसतं भजे लोकबनधुम
yasya prītiṃ vitanvantyamitaparikarā dvādaśa dvādaśaite hṛ^idyābhirvālakhilyāḥ saraṇibhaṇitibhistaṃ bhaje lokabandhum
May the twelve rays of the sun fill our hearts with joy and devotion, leading us to liberation.
बरहमाणडे यसय जनमोदितमुŚसि परबरहममुखयातमजसय धयेयं रूपं शिरोदोशछरणपदजुŚा वयाहृ^ितीनां त्रयेण
brahmāṇḍe yasya janmoditamuŚasi parabrahmamukhyātmajasya dhyeyaṃ rūpaṃ śirodoścharaṇapadajuŚā vyāhṛ^itīnāṃ trayeṇa
In the embrace of the sun's light, may we find the essence of the divine, guiding us to the ultimate truth.
तत सतयं बरहम पशयामयहरहमभिधं नितयमादितयरूपं भूतानां भूनभससवः परभृ^ितिŚु वसतां पराणसूकŚमांशमेकम
tat satyaṃ brahma paśyāmyaharahamabhidhaṃ nityamādityarūpaṃ bhūtānāṃ bhūnabhassvaḥ prabhṛ^itiŚu vasatāṃ prāṇasūkŚmāṃśamekam
The sun, the eternal truth, shines forth, illuminating the essence of all beings in the universe.
ादितये लोकछकŚुŚयवहितमनसां योगिनां दृ^िशयमनतः सवछCहसवरणाभमूरतिं विदलितनलिनोदारदृ^िशयाकŚियुगमम
āditye lokachakŚuŚyavahitamanasāṃ yogināṃ dṛ^iśyamantaḥ svachChasvarṇābhamūrtiṃ vidalitanalinodāradṛ^iśyākŚiyugmam
To the sun, the embodiment of light and wisdom, I offer my devotion, seeking his divine guidance.
ृ^िकसामोदगानगेŚणं निरतिशयलसललोककामेशभावं सरवावदयोदिततवादुदितसमुदितं बरहम शमभुं परपदये
ṛ^iksāmodgānageŚṇaṃ niratiśayalasallokakāmeśabhāvaṃ sarvāvadyoditatvāduditasamuditaṃ brahma śambhuṃ prapadye
In the sacred river of divine bliss, I find the essence of the Lord, who embodies the desires of all beings, the supreme being who resides in the hearts of the devotees, and who brings forth the ultimate peace.
ोमितयुदगीथभकतेरवयवपदवीं परापतवतयकŚरे.समिन यसयोपासतिः समसतं दुरितमपनयतवरकबिमबे सथितसय
omityudgīthabhakteravayavapadavīṃ prāptavatyakŚare.asmin yasyopāstiḥ samastaṃ duritamapanayatvarkabimbe sthitasya
O Lord, through the sweet melodies of your praises, may the burdens of sin be lifted, and may the devoted souls find refuge in your divine presence, where all troubles are dispelled.
यत पूजैकपरधानानयघमखिलमपि घननति कृ^िछCहरवरतानि धयातः सरवोपतापान हरतु परशिवः सो.यमादयो भिŚङनः
yat pūjaikapradhānānyaghamakhilamapi ghnanti kṛ^ichChravratāni dhyātaḥ sarvopatāpān haratu paraśivaḥ so.ayamādyo bhiŚaṅnaḥ
To those who worship you with single-minded devotion, O Lord Shiva, may you remove all afflictions and grant liberation from the cycle of birth and death, for you are the ultimate protector.
ादितये मणडलारछिः पुरुŚविभिदयादयनतमधयागमातम- नयागोपालाङगनाभयो नयनपथजुŚा जयोतिŚा दीपयमानम गायत्रीमनत्रसेवयं निखिलजनधियां परेरकं विशवरूपम
āditye maṇḍalārchiḥ puruŚavibhidayādyantamadhyāgamātma- nyāgopālāṅganābhyo nayanapathajuŚā jyotiŚā dīpyamānam gāyatrīmantrasevyaṃ nikhilajanadhiyāṃ prerakaṃ viśvarūpam
With the light of the Gayatri mantra shining bright, may the eyes of all beings be opened to the divine, as the essence of the universe manifests in the form of the beloved Lord, the protector of the world.
नीलगरीवं त्रिने(णे)त्रं शिवमनिशमुमावललभं संशरयामि
nīlagrīvaṃ trine(ṇe)traṃ śivamaniśamumāvallabhaṃ saṃśrayāmi
I bow to the blue-throated one, the three-eyed Lord Shiva, who is eternally adorned with the garland of the moon, and who grants liberation to those who seek him.
भराकलपः शताङगः सथिरफणितिमयं मणडलं रशमिभेदाः साहसरासतेŚु सपत शरुतिभिरभिहिताः किञछिदूनाशछ लकŚाः
abhrākalpaḥ śatāṅgaḥ sthiraphaṇitimayaṃ maṇḍalaṃ raśmibhedāḥ sāhasrāsteŚu sapta śrutibhirabhihitāḥ kiñchidūnāścha lakŚāḥ
The divine form, adorned with a hundred ornaments, is the eternal abode of peace, where the celestial beings sing praises, and the essence of all creation resides.
ेकैकेŚां छतसरसतदनु दिनमणेरादिदेवसय तिसरः कḹपताः ततततपरभावपरकटनमहिताः सरगधरा दवादशैताः
ekaikeŚāṃ chatasrastadanu dinamaṇerādidevasya tisraḥ kḹptāḥ tattatprabhāvaprakaṭanamahitāḥ sragdharā dvādaśaitāḥ
In the realm of the divine, where the sun and moon dance in harmony, may the sacred waters flow, bringing forth the blessings of the Lord to all who seek refuge.
दुःसवपनं दुरनिमिततं दुरितमखिलमपयामयानपयसाधयान दोŚान दुःसथानसंसथगरहगणजनितान दुŚटभूतान गरहादीन
duḥsvapnaṃ durnimittaṃ duritamakhilamapyāmayānapyasādhyān doŚān duḥsthānasaṃsthagrahagaṇajanitān duŚṭabhūtān grahādīn
In the face of adversity and the trials of life, may the divine grace of the Lord cleanse all sins and dispel the darkness of ignorance, leading us to the light of truth.
निरधूनोति सथिरां छ शरियमिह लभते मुकतिमभयेति छानते सङकीरतय सतोत्ररतनं सकृ^िदपि मनुजः परतयहं पतयुरहनाम
nirdhūnoti sthirāṃ cha śriyamiha labhate muktimabhyeti chānte saṅkīrtya stotraratnaṃ sakṛ^idapi manujaḥ pratyahaṃ patyurahnām
He who sings the glories of the Lord, even once, shall attain liberation and fearlessness, for the name of the Lord is a treasure that grants eternal peace.
िति शरीमदपपययदीकŚितविरछितशरीमदादितयसतोत्ररतनम
iti śrīmadappayyadīkŚitavirachitaśrīmadādityastotraratnam
Thus, I offer this stotra, composed with reverence, to the Lord who is the essence of all that is, the divine being who bestows blessings upon his devotees.
