मनदपाल ुवाछ
mandapāla uvācha
O Agni, the embodiment of all beings, I offer my heartfelt praise.
तवमगने सरवदेवानां मुखं तवमसि हवयवाट
tvamagne sarvadevānāṃ mukhaṃ tvamasi havyavāṭ
You are the face of all deities, O Agni, the sacred fire of our offerings.
तवमनतः सरवभूतानां गूढशछरसि पावक
tvamantaḥ sarvabhūtānāṃ gūḍhaścharasi pāvaka
You are the hidden essence of all creatures, O Pava, purifying and divine.
तवामेकमाहुः कवयसतवामाहुसत्रिविधं पुनः
tvāmekamāhuḥ kavayastvāmāhustrividhaṃ punaḥ
The seers proclaim you as the one, and they speak of you in threefold reverence.
तवामŚटधा कलपयितवा यज्ञवाहमकलपयन
tvāmaŚṭadhā kalpayitvā yajñavāhamakalpayan
You are the source of all sacrifices, O Agni, the one who sustains the sacred rites.
तवया सृ^िŚटमिदं विशवं वदनति परमरŚयः
tvayā sṛ^iŚṭamidaṃ viśvaṃ vadanti paramarŚayaḥ
By you, this universe is created, O radiant one, the embodiment of supreme glory.
तवदृ^िते हि जगतकृ^ितसनं सदयो न सयादधुताशन
tvadṛ^ite hi jagatkṛ^itsnaṃ sadyo na syāddhutāśana
Without your sight, the world cannot thrive; you are the compassionate sustainer.
तुभयं कृ^ितवा नमो विपराः सवकरमविजितां गतिम
tubhyaṃ kṛ^itvā namo viprāḥ svakarmavijitāṃ gatim
To you, we bow in reverence, O Agni, the conqueror of all obstacles.
गछCहनति सह पतनीभिः सुतैरपि छ शाशवतीम
gachChanti saha patnībhiḥ sutairapi cha śāśvatīm
May you guide us, along with our families, to eternal bliss.
तवामगने जलदानाहुः खे विŚकतानसविदयुतः
tvāmagne jaladānāhuḥ khe viŚaktānsavidyutaḥ
You are called the giver of water, O Agni, shining in the skies.
दहनति सरवभूतानि तवततो निŚकरमय हायनाः
dahanti sarvabhūtāni tvatto niŚkramya hāyanāḥ
You consume all beings, O Agni, yet you remain untouched and pure.
जातवेदसतवैवेयं विशवसृ^िŚटिरमहादयुते
jātavedastavaiveyaṃ viśvasṛ^iŚṭirmahādyute
O Jataveda, this creation is yours, O great one, full of compassion.
तवैव करम विहितं भूतं सरवं छराछरम
tavaiva karma vihitaṃ bhūtaṃ sarvaṃ charācharam
By your hand, all beings are formed, both the transient and the eternal.
तवया..पो विहिताः पूरवं तवयि सरवमिदं जगत
tvayā.a.apo vihitāḥ pūrvaṃ tvayi sarvamidaṃ jagat
By you, this entire world is sustained, O Agni, the source of all.
तवयि हवयं छ कवयं छ यथावतसमपरतिŚठितम
tvayi havyaṃ cha kavyaṃ cha yathāvatsampratiŚṭhitam
In you, the offerings and the poets find their rightful place.
गने तवमेव जवलनसतवं धाता तवं बृ^िहसपतिः
agne tvameva jvalanastvaṃ dhātā tvaṃ bṛ^ihaspatiḥ
You alone are the blazing light, O Agni, the great protector.
तवमशविनौ यमौ मित्रः सोमसतवमसि छानिलः
tvamaśvinau yamau mitraḥ somastvamasi chānilaḥ
You are the twin Ashvins, the friends, and the moonlit sky.
