श्री सुब्रह्मण्य स्तोत्राणि
yō dēvānāṁ purō ditsurarthibhyō varamīpsitam
O Lord Subrahmanya, the treasure of hymns,
यो देवानां पुरो दित्सुरर्थिभ्यो वरमीप्सितम् ।
agrē sthitaḥ sa vighnēśō mamāntarhr̥dayē sthitaḥ
You who stand before the gods, granting the wishes of those who seek,
अग्रे स्थितः स विघ्नेशो ममान्तर्हृदये स्थितः ॥ १ ॥
mahaḥ purā vai budhasaindhavaśrī- -śarāṭavīmadhyagataṁ hr̥dantaḥ
You, Vighnesha, who reside in my heart,
महः पुरा वै बुधसैन्धवश्री-
śrīkaṇṭhaphālēkṣaṇajātamīḍē tatpuṣkarasyāyatanāddhi jātam
O great one, you are the essence of wisdom,
-शराटवीमध्यगतं हृदन्तः । श्रीकण्ठफालेक्षणजातमीडे
mahō guhākhyaṁ nigamāntapaṅkti mr̥gyāṅghripaṅkēruhayugmamīḍē
Residing in the middle of the divine lotus,
तत्पुष्करस्यायतनाद्धि जातम् ॥ २ ॥
sāmbō vr̥ṣasthaḥ sutadarśanōtkō yatparyapaśyatsarirasya madhyē
O Lord with the beautiful eyes of the blue-throated one,
महो गुहाख्यं निगमान्तपङ्क्ति
tvāmēva dēvaṁ śivaphālanētra- -mahōvivartaṁ paramātmarūpam
From the abode of the lotus, you have emerged,
मृग्याङ्घ्रिपङ्केरुहयुग्ममीडे । साम्बो वृषस्थः सुतदर्शनोत्को
tiṣṭhan vrajan jāgradahaṁ śayānaḥ prāṇēna vācā manasā bibharmi
In the great cave known as the ultimate knowledge,
यत्पर्यपश्यत्सरिरस्य मध्ये ॥ ३ ॥
namō bhavānītanujāya tē:'stu vijñātatattvā munayaḥ purāṇāḥ
You are the one sought after by those who wander,
त्वामेव देवं शिवफालनेत्र-
yamēva śambhuṁ harimabjayōniṁ yamindramāhurvaruṇaṁ yamāhuḥ
O Sambhu, who resides in the form of a bull,
-महोविवर्तं परमात्मरूपम् । तिष्ठन् व्रजन् जाग्रदहं शयानः
kōṭīrakōṭisthamahārghakōṭi- -maṇiprabhājālavr̥taṁ guhaṁ tvām
In the midst of the body, you are the one who sees,
प्राणेन वाचा मनसा बिभर्मि ॥ ४ ॥
ananyacētāḥ praṇavābjahaṁsaṁ vēdāhamētaṁ puruṣaṁ mahāntam
You alone are the divine, the essence of the supreme soul,
नमो भवानीतनुजाय तेऽस्तु
sa nō:'vatu svālikapaṅktijīva- -grahaṁ gr̥hītāyata candrakhaṇḍaḥ
Standing, moving, awake, and asleep,
विज्ञाततत्त्वा मुनयः पुराणाः । यमेव शम्भुं हरिमब्जयोनिं
guhādasīyantamidaṁ svarūpaṁ parātparaṁ yanmahatō mahāntam
I carry you in my breath, speech, and mind,
यमिन्द्रमाहुर्वरुणं यमाहुः ॥ ५ ॥
svargāpagāmadhyagapuṇḍarīka- -dalaprabhājaitravilōcanasya
Salutations to you, O son of Bhavani,
कोटीरकोटिस्थमहार्घकोटि-
akṣṇāṁ sahasrēṇa vilōkyamānaṁ na sandr̥śē tiṣṭhati rūpamasya
The ancient sages have understood your true nature,
-मणिप्रभाजालवृतं गुहं त्वाम् । अनन्यचेताः प्रणवाब्जहंसं
hēmadviṣatkuṇḍalamaṇḍalāḍhya- -gaṇḍasthalīmaṇḍitatuṇḍaśōbhaḥ
You are the one called Shambhu, the lotus-born Hari,
वेदाहमेतं पुरुषं महान्तम् ॥ ६ ॥
brahma tvamēvēti guhō munīndraiḥ hr̥dā manīṣā manasā:'bhiklaptaḥ
You are referred to as Indra, Varuna, and Yama,
स नोऽवतु स्वालिकपङ्क्तिजीव-
supakvabimbādharakāntirakta- -sandhyāmr̥gāṅkāyitadantapaṅktiḥ
You are the supreme being, surrounded by countless jewels,
-ग्रहं गृहीतायत चन्द्रखण्डः । गुहादसीयन्तमिदं स्वरूपं
guhasya naḥ pātu vilōladr̥ṣṭiḥ yēnāvr̥taṁ khaṁ ca divaṁ mahīṁ ca
The one who is the non-dual consciousness, the essence of the syllable Om,
परात्परं यन्महतो महान्तम् ॥ ७ ॥
karīndraśuṇḍāyitadōḥprakāṇḍa dviṣaṭkakēyūravirājamānam
I know this great person,
स्वर्गापगामध्यगपुण्डरीक-
guhaṁ mr̥ḍānībhavamapramēyaṁ na cakṣuṣā paśyati kaścanainam
May he protect us, the beings of the sacred lineage,
-दलप्रभाजैत्रविलोचनस्य । अक्ष्णां सहस्रेण विलोक्यमानं
svakīyadōrdaṇḍagr̥hītacaṇḍa- -kōdaṇḍa nirmukta pr̥ṣatkaṣaṇḍaiḥ
The one who is the moon-like essence,
न सन्दृशे तिष्ठति रूपमस्य ॥ ८ ॥
triviṣṭapāndhaṅkaraṇairaśūnyān yaḥ saptalōkānakr̥ṇōddiśaśca
This form of yours is hidden in the cave,
हेमद्विषत्कुण्डलमण्डलाढ्य-
sauvarṇahārādivibhūṣaṇōjjvala- -nmaṇiprabhālīḍha viśālavakṣāḥ
The supreme being, the greatest among the great,
-गण्डस्थलीमण्डिततुण्डशोभः । ब्रह्म त्वमेवेति गुहो मुनीन्द्रैः
skandaḥ sa māṁ pātu jitābjayōniḥ ajāyamānō bahudhā vijāyatē
The one who shines like a lotus in the celestial realm.
हृदा मनीषा मनसाऽभिक्लप्तः ॥ ९ ॥
dēvaḥ sa vaihārikavēṣadhārī līlākr̥tāśēṣajagadvimardaḥ
With a thousand eyes observing,
सुपक्वबिम्बाधरकान्तिरक्त-
śikhidhvajaḥ pātu bhayaṅkarēbhyō yaḥ saptasindhūnadadhātpr̥thivyām
This form does not stand revealed.
-सन्ध्यामृगाङ्कायितदन्तपङ्क्तिः । गुहस्य नः पातु विलोलदृष्टिः
ṣaḍānanō dvādaśabāhudaṇḍaḥ śrutyantagāmī dviṣaḍīkṣaṇāḍhyaḥ
Adorned with a golden crown,
येनावृतं खं च दिवं महीं च ॥ १० ॥
bhītāya mahyaṁ girijātanūjō hiraṇyavarṇastvabhayaṁ kr̥ṇōtu
Radiant is the face of the one with a beautiful beak.
करीन्द्रशुण्डायितदोःप्रकाण्ड
yō dānavānīkabhayaṅkarāṭavī samūlakōtpāṭanacaṇḍavātaḥ
The sages declare, "You are indeed Brahman,"
द्विषट्ककेयूरविराजमानम् । गुहं मृडानीभवमप्रमेयं
ṣāṇmāturaḥ saṁhr̥ta sarvaśatruḥ athaikarājō hyabhavajjanānām
In the heart, the mind is absorbed.
न चक्षुषा पश्यति कश्चनैनम् ॥ ११ ॥
atīva bālaḥ pravayāḥ kumārō varṇī yuvā ṣaṇmukha ēkavaktraḥ
With a ripe fruit-like luster,
स्वकीयदोर्दण्डगृहीतचण्ड-
itthaṁ mahastadbahudhā:':'virāsī- -dyadēkamavyaktamanantarūpam
The red hue of the evening deer-like teeth shines.
-कोदण्ड निर्मुक्त पृषत्कषण्डैः । त्रिविष्टपान्धङ्करणैरशून्यान्
yadīyamāyāvaraṇākhyaśakti tirōhitāntaḥ karaṇā hi mūḍhāḥ
May the one with a wandering gaze protect us,
यः सप्तलोकानकृणोद्दिशश्च ॥ १२ ॥
na jānatē tvāṁ guha taṁ prapadyē parēṇa nākaṁ nihitaṁ guhāyām
By whom the sky and the earth are covered.
सौवर्णहारादिविभूषणोज्ज्वल-
gurūpadēśādhigatēna yōga- -mārgēṇa samprāpya ca yōginastvām
With the trunk of a mighty elephant,
-न्मणिप्रभालीढ विशालवक्षाः । स्कन्दः स मां पातु जिताब्जयोनिः
guhaṁ paraṁ brahma hr̥dambujasthaṁ vibhrājadētadyatayō viśanti
The one adorned with the two tusks shines.
अजायमानो बहुधा विजायते ॥ १३ ॥
yō dēvasēnāpatirādarādvai brahmādibhirdēvagaṇairabhiṣṭutaḥ
The immeasurable cave,
देवः स वैहारिकवेषधारी
taṁ dēvasēnānyamahaṁ prapadyē viśvaṁ purāṇaṁ tamasaḥ parastāt
Is not seen by anyone with eyes.
लीलाकृताशेषजगद्विमर्दः । शिखिध्वजः पातु भयङ्करेभ्यो
hr̥dambujāntardaharāgravarti kr̥śānumadhyasthaparātmarūpāt
With the fierce bow held in hand,
यः सप्तसिन्धूनदधात्पृथिव्याम् ॥ १४ ॥
guhātsusūkṣmānmunayaḥ pratīyu- -rataḥ paraṁ nānyadaṇīyasaṁ hi
Freed from the arrows of the fierce bow.
षडाननो द्वादशबाहुदण्डः
tapaḥ prasannēśabahupradatta- -varapramattāsurabhītibhājām
In the three worlds, the blind ones are empty,
श्रुत्यन्तगामी द्विषडीक्षणाढ्यः । भीताय मह्यं गिरिजातनूजो
suparvaṇāṁ skanda bhavān śaraṇyaḥ indrasya viṣṇōrvaruṇasya rājñaḥ
He who creates the seven worlds and directions.
हिरण्यवर्णस्त्वभयं कृणोतु ॥ १५ ॥
sa ēva dēvō girijākumārō rājā sa mitraṁ sa hi nō varēṇyaḥ
With the brilliance of golden ornaments,
यो दानवानीकभयङ्कराटवी
bhrātā sa bandhuḥ sa guruḥ svasā ca sa ēva putraḥ sa pitā ca mātā
And the radiance of jewels, the broad-chested one.
समूलकोत्पाटनचण्डवातः । षाण्मातुरः संहृत सर्वशत्रुः
svarājyadātrē svasutāṁ vitīrya tāṁ dēvasēnāṁ sukumāragātrām
May Skanda protect me, the conqueror of the lotus-born.
अथैकराजो ह्यभवज्जनानाम् ॥ १६ ॥
ārādhayatyanvahamāmbikēyaṁ indrō haviṣmānsagaṇō marudbhiḥ
The one born in many ways is indeed divine.
अतीव बालः प्रवयाः कुमारो
dēvēna yēnālaghuvikramēṇa hatēṣu sarvēṣvapi dānavēṣu
He is the one who wears the guise of a wanderer,
वर्णी युवा षण्मुख एकवक्त्रः । इत्थं महस्तद्बहुधाऽऽविरासी-
purēva dēvāḥ svapadē:'dhicakruḥ indraśca samrāḍvaruṇaśca rājā
The one who playfully destroys the entire world.
-द्यदेकमव्यक्तमनन्तरूपम् ॥ १७ ॥
ṣāṇmāturō:'sau jagatāṁ śaraṇya- -stējō:'nnamāpaḥ pavanaśca bhūtvā
May the one with a mountain flag protect me from terrors,
यदीयमायावरणाख्यशक्ति
saṁrakṣaṇāyaiva jagatsu dēvō vivēśa bhūtāni carācarāṇi
He who holds the seven rivers in this earth.
तिरोहितान्तः करणा हि मूढाः । न जानते त्वां गुह तं प्रपद्ये
karau yuvāmañjalimēva nityaṁ umāṅgajātāya vidhattamasmai
The six-faced one with twelve arms,
परेण नाकं निहितं गुहायाम् ॥ १८ ॥
ēṣa prasannaḥ sukumāramūrti- -rasmāsu dēvō draviṇaṁ dadhātu
The one who is the essence of the scriptures, rich in knowledge.
गुरूपदेशाधिगतेन योग-
nidhiḥ kalānāmudadhirdayānāṁ patirjanānāṁ saraṇirmunīnām
To me, who is afraid, may the son of Girija,
-मार्गेण सम्प्राप्य च योगिनस्त्वाम् । गुहं परं ब्रह्म हृदम्बुजस्थं
kadā prasīdēnmayi pārvatēyaḥ pitā virājāmr̥ṣabhō rayīṇām
The golden-hued one, grant me fearlessness.
विभ्राजदेतद्यतयो विशन्ति ॥ १९ ॥
saundaryavallītanusaukumārya- -sarōjapuṣpandhayamānasō yaḥ
He who is the terrifying leader of the demons,
यो देवसेनापतिरादराद्वै
cacāra kāntārapathēṣu dēvaḥ sa nō dadātu draviṇaṁ suvīryam
With a fierce wind uprooting them completely,
ब्रह्मादिभिर्देवगणैरभिष्टुतः । तं देवसेनान्यमहं प्रपद्ये
itō:'pi saundaryavadastu dēha- -mitīva hutvā śivaphālanētrē
The one who is the six mothers, having vanquished all enemies,
विश्वं पुराणं तमसः परस्तात् ॥ २० ॥
jātastataḥ kiṁ sa kumāra ēva kāmastadagrē samavartatādhi
Then there was a king indeed for the people.
हृदम्बुजान्तर्दहराग्रवर्ति
mumukṣulōkāḥ śr̥ṇuta priyaṁ vō bhajadhvamēnaṁ girijākumāram
Extremely youthful, he is a child,
कृशानुमध्यस्थपरात्मरूपात् । गुहात्सुसूक्ष्मान्मुनयः प्रतीयु-
asyaiva dēvasya parātmatēti hr̥di pratīṣyā kavayō manīṣā
Described as young, with six faces and a single mouth.
-रतः परं नान्यदणीयसं हि ॥ २१ ॥
dhēnurbahvīḥ kāmadōgdhrīḥ suvatsāḥ kuṇḍōdhnīrgā dēhi nastvaṁ sahasram
Thus, he is great, manifesting in many forms,
तपः प्रसन्नेशबहुप्रदत्त-
bhaktārtighnaṁ dēvadēvaṁ ṣaḍāsyaṁ vidmāhi tvā gōpatiṁ śūragōnām
That one who is undivided and has an endless form.
-वरप्रमत्तासुरभीतिभाजाम् । सुपर्वणां स्कन्द भवान् शरण्यः
vandāmahē barhiṇavāhanasthitaṁ vanīpakāśēṣamanīṣitapradam
If this power called illusion is hidden,
इन्द्रस्य विष्णोर्वरुणस्य राज्ञः ॥ २२ ॥
tōṣṭūyamānaṁ bahudhā padē padē saṅkrandanēnānimiṣēṇa jiṣṇunā
The foolish ones do not know you, O Guha, and I take refuge in you.
स एव देवो गिरिजाकुमारो
digbhyō daśabhyaḥ paritaḥ punaḥ punaḥ paraḥ śatāyātasiṣēviṣāvatām
The supreme heaven hidden in a cave,
राजा स मित्रं स हि नो वरेण्यः । भ्राता स बन्धुः स गुरुः स्वसा च
anugrahāyaiva ṣaḍānanō hyasau pratyaṅgmukhastiṣṭhati viśvatōmukhaḥ
By the path of yoga attained through the teachings of the guru,
स एव पुत्रः स पिता च माता ॥ २३ ॥
kūrmaḥ phaṇīndraśca tathā phaṇābhr̥tō digdantinaścaiva kulācalā api
The yogis reach you,
स्वराज्यदात्रे स्वसुतां वितीर्य
bhūtvā:'mbikēyaḥ prathitaḥ pratāpavān brahmādhyatiṣṭhadbhuvanāni dhārayan
The supreme cave, the Brahman residing in the heart lotus,
तां देवसेनां सुकुमारगात्राम् । आराधयत्यन्वहमाम्बिकेयं
yō vai skandaḥ pr̥ṣṭaḥ śambhōḥ satyaṁ jñānaṁ brahmādvaitam
Illuminating, they enter through the grace of that.
इन्द्रो हविष्मान्सगणो मरुद्भिः ॥ २४ ॥
ōṅkārārthaṁ prāha smētthaṁ subrahmaṇyōṁ subrahmaṇyōm
He who is the commander of the divine army, revered,
देवेन येनालघुविक्रमेण
yō jāhvavīśarāraṇyahradāmbhōjē babhau purā
Praised by Brahma and other divine beings,
हतेषु सर्वेष्वपि दानवेषु । पुरेव देवाः स्वपदेऽधिचक्रुः
tasmai namaḥ ṣaṇmukhāya mahāsēnāya dhīmahi
To him, the commander of the divine army, I take refuge.
इन्द्रश्च सम्राड्वरुणश्च राजा ॥ २५ ॥
yaddakṣiṇakarāmbhōjamiṣṭadaṁ svānujīvinām
The entire universe, beyond the darkness,
षाण्मातुरोऽसौ जगतां शरण्य-
tēbhya indrādisēnānāṁ sēnānibhyaśca vō namaḥ
Residing in the heart lotus,
-स्तेजोऽन्नमापः पवनश्च भूत्वा । संरक्षणायैव जगत्सु देवो
dēvatānāmr̥ṣīṇāṁ ca bhaktānāmapi yōginām
From the subtle essence of the body,
विवेश भूतानि चराचराणि ॥ २६ ॥
bhūtānāmapi vīrāṇāṁ patīnāṁ patayē namaḥ
The sages, perceiving the very subtle cave,
करौ युवामञ्जलिमेव नित्यं
namastē:'stu mahēśāna bhītēbhyaḥ śūrapadmanaḥ
Indeed, there is nothing else that can be grasped.
उमाङ्गजाताय विधत्तमस्मै । एष प्रसन्नः सुकुमारमूर्ति-
sunāsīramukhēbhyastvaṁ svastidā abhayaṅkaraḥ
In the presence of the pleased Lord of austerities,
-रस्मासु देवो द्रविणं दधातु ॥ २७ ॥
kaṭākṣavīkṣaṇāpāsta nikhilavyādhibandhana
Bestowing many boons, the one who fears the demons,
निधिः कलानामुदधिर्दयानां
dēvasēnāpatē svāmin abhi tvā śūra nūnumaḥ
O Skanda, you are the refuge of the good,
पतिर्जनानां सरणिर्मुनीनाम् । कदा प्रसीदेन्मयि पार्वतेयः
antaścarasi bhūtēṣu tvamēkaḥ sūkṣmarūpataḥ
Of Indra, Vishnu, Varuna, and the king,
पिता विराजामृषभो रयीणाम् ॥ २८ ॥
tvamēva nigamāntēṣu paramātmā vyavasthitaḥ
He is indeed the divine one, the son of Girija,
सौन्दर्यवल्लीतनुसौकुमार्य-
mahī dyaurantarikṣaṁ ca vāyurāpō:'nalō:'mbaram
The king, the friend, indeed, he is our most excellent one.
-सरोजपुष्पन्धयमानसो यः । चचार कान्तारपथेषु देवः
subrahmaṇya jagannātha tvayi sarvaṁ pratiṣṭhitam
The brother is indeed a relative, the guru is also so,
स नो ददातु द्रविणं सुवीर्यम् ॥ २९ ॥
śaiśavē tvaṁ mahāsēna bandīkr̥tya prajāpatim
The sister is the same, the son, the father, and the mother.
इतोऽपि सौन्दर्यवदस्तु देह-
asrākṣīstānyathāpūrvaṁ manuṣyāḥ paśavaśca yē
To the one who grants sovereignty, extending to the daughter,
-मितीव हुत्वा शिवफालनेत्रे । जातस्ततः किं स कुमार एव
vēdāntakandarīvarti guhāśayaṣaḍānanē
I worship that divine army, with a delicate body.
कामस्तदग्रे समवर्तताधि ॥ ३० ॥
trilōkīyaṁ tvayi vibhō nāvīvāntaḥ samāhitā
Indra, the one with offerings, along with the Maruts,
मुमुक्षुलोकाः शृणुत प्रियं वो
kalā muhūrtāḥ kāṣṭhāśca māsā varṣā yugāni ca
By the divine, who with light and valor,
भजध्वमेनं गिरिजाकुमारम् । अस्यैव देवस्य परात्मतेति
tvayi vallīśa nihitā nimēṣāstruṭibhiḥ saha
In the battle against all the demons,
हृदि प्रतीष्या कवयो मनीषा ॥ ३१ ॥
rōgakāntāradāvāgnē mr̥tyukakṣahutāśana
The gods established their own abode.
धेनुर्बह्वीः कामदोग्ध्रीः सुवत्साः
śūraghna tvatpratāpēna rējatī rōdasī ubhē
Indra, the sovereign, and Varuna, the king,
कुण्डोध्नीर्गा देहि नस्त्वं सहस्रम् । भक्तार्तिघ्नं देवदेवं षडास्यं
paraṁ brahma vicinvantō hr̥dayāmbhōjamadhyagam
The six mothers are the refuge of the world.
विद्माहि त्वा गोपतिं शूरगोनाम् ॥ ३२ ॥
yōginō nāradādyāstvāṁ sadā paśyanti sūrayaḥ
With the power of food, water, and wind,
वन्दामहे बर्हिणवाहनस्थितं
hataśūramukhāśēṣadaitēyaṁ tvāṁ guhāstuvan
To protect the world, the divine entered,
वनीपकाशेषमनीषितप्रदम् । तोष्टूयमानं बहुधा पदे पदे
agnāviṣṇū cēndravāyū sōmō dhātā br̥haspatiḥ
All beings, both mobile and immobile.
सङ्क्रन्दनेनानिमिषेण जिष्णुना ॥ ३३ ॥
vācālayasyavācaṁ tvaṁ sacakṣuḥ kuruṣē:'dr̥śam
May you, with your hands raised in eternal devotion,
दिग्भ्यो दशभ्यः परितः पुनः पुनः
āśritēbhyō jagannātha śivō naḥ sumanā bhava
Bestow upon the one born of Uma,
परः शतायातसिषेविषावताम् । अनुग्रहायैव षडाननो ह्यसौ
sa ēva jagataḥ kartā bhartā hartā jagadguruḥ
This pleasing, delicate form,
प्रत्यङ्ग्मुखस्तिष्ठति विश्वतोमुखः ॥ ३४ ॥
kumāraḥ saccidānandaḥ sō:'kṣaraḥ paramaḥ svarāṭ
May the divine grant wealth in the rays of light.
कूर्मः फणीन्द्रश्च तथा फणाभृतो
asurān śūrapadmādīn hatvā śaravaṇōdbhavaḥ
The lord of the arts, the ocean of compassion,
दिग्दन्तिनश्चैव कुलाचला अपि । भूत्वाऽम्बिकेयः प्रथितः प्रतापवान्
dēvān svasvapadē kr̥tvā samrāḍēkō virājasi
The protector of the people, the refuge of the sages,
ब्रह्माध्यतिष्ठद्भुवनानि धारयन् ॥ ३५ ॥
tava dr̥ṣṭvā viśvarūpaṁ saharṣabhayavēpathu
When will you be pleased with me, O son of Parvati?
यो वै स्कन्दः पृष्टः शम्भोः सत्यं ज्ञानं ब्रह्माद्वैतम् ।
tvāmastuvannāditēyāḥ br̥haspatipurōhitāḥ
The father shines, the best among the wealthy,
ओङ्कारार्थं प्राह स्मेत्थं सुब्रह्मण्यों सुब्रह्मण्योम् ॥ ३६ ॥
kinnarā garuḍā nāgā yakṣāḥ sādhyā marudgaṇāḥ
The beauty of the creeper, with delicate form,
यो जाह्ववीशरारण्यह्रदाम्भोजे बभौ पुरा ।
aindrīśaṁ tvāmaharahaḥ viśvē dēvā upāsatē
Who wandered through the forest paths, the divine,
तस्मै नमः षण्मुखाय महासेनाय धीमहि ॥ ३७ ॥
viśvāsānmānuṣīṇāṁ ca prajānāṁ paśupakṣiṇām
May he grant us wealth and valor.
यद्दक्षिणकराम्भोजमिष्टदं स्वानुजीविनाम् ।
carācarāṇāṁ jagatāṁ dhruvō rājā viśāmayam
Even here, the body is indeed beautiful,
तेभ्य इन्द्रादिसेनानां सेनानिभ्यश्च वो नमः ॥ ३८ ॥
ambhōjasaṁvartikāsu rājahaṁsā iva prabhō
As if burnt in the gaze of Shiva,
देवतानामृषीणां च भक्तानामपि योगिनाम् ।
madīyahr̥dayāmbhōjē dhruvastiṣṭhāvicācaliḥ
What then is this, is the young man indeed,
भूतानामपि वीराणां पतीनां पतये नमः ॥ ३९ ॥
līlāmātrakr̥tāśēṣabhuvanādgirijāsutāt
Desire that arose before him, turning around?
नमस्तेऽस्तु महेशान भीतेभ्यः शूरपद्मनः ।
atharva cātha r̥ksāma yajustasmādajāyata
Listen, O seekers of liberation, to what is dear to you.
सुनासीरमुखेभ्यस्त्वं स्वस्तिदा अभयङ्करः ॥ ४० ॥
tilē tailamiva prōtaṁ dadhnyājyamiva ṣaṇmukhē
Worship this son of Girija with devotion.
कटाक्षवीक्षणापास्त निखिलव्याधिबन्धन ।
maṇau sūtramiva syūtaṁ brahma viśvamidaṁ jagat
This very deity is the supreme essence,
देवसेनापते स्वामिन् अभि त्वा शूर नूनुमः ॥ ४१ ॥
yastaptādīnr̥ṣīn śāpāduddadhāra harātmajaḥ
As the wise poets have realized in their hearts.
अन्तश्चरसि भूतेषु त्वमेकः सूक्ष्मरूपतः ।
mātuḥ stanasudhāpūrē putraḥ pramuditōdhayan
The cow that gives many wishes is full of good calves.
त्वमेव निगमान्तेषु परमात्मा व्यवस्थितः ॥ ४२ ॥
ijyayā pūjayā stutyā bhaktyā ca paricaryayā
O goddess, grant us a thousand of your bounties.
मही द्यौरन्तरिक्षं च वायुरापोऽनलोऽम्बरम् ।
dhyānēna tapasā ca tvāṁ dēvaṁ manasi īḍatē
We know you, the remover of devotees' distress, the lord of gods with six faces.
सुब्रह्मण्य जगन्नाथ त्वयि सर्वं प्रतिष्ठितम् ॥ ४३ ॥
śrutismr̥tyāgamādyuktakarmaṇāṁ phaladāyinē
We bow to you, who resides on the chariot of the sacred bird.
शैशवे त्वं महासेन बन्दीकृत्य प्रजापतिम् ।
skandāya tubhyaṁ makhibhiḥ śraddhayā hūyatē haviḥ
You shine forth in the forest, bestowing wisdom to the wise.
अस्राक्षीस्तान्यथापूर्वं मनुष्याः पशवश्च ये ॥ ४४ ॥
mūrdhā dyaurambaraṁ nābhirūrū bhūratalaṁ padē
You are praised in many ways, at every step.
वेदान्तकन्दरीवर्ति गुहाशयषडानने ।
ṣaṇmukhasyētyēvamāhuḥ antarviśvamidaṁ jagat
With your unblinking gaze, you conquer through your might.
त्रिलोकीयं त्वयि विभो नावीवान्तः समाहिता ॥ ४५ ॥
bhaktasantāpaśamana prāvr̥ṣēṇyaghanāghanāt
From all directions, again and again,
कला मुहूर्ताः काष्ठाश्च मासा वर्षा युगानि च ।
skandādanyaṁ manō māgāḥ sa dr̥ṣṭō mr̥ḍayāti naḥ
The supreme one serves the hundred-faced beings.
त्वयि वल्लीश निहिता निमेषास्त्रुटिभिः सह ॥ ४६ ॥
jihvē tvamuccairnistandrā rātrindivamabhiṣṭuhi
For the sake of grace, this six-faced one stands facing all directions.
रोगकान्तारदावाग्ने मृत्युकक्षहुताशन ।
dēvasēnaṁ mahāsēnaṁ adugdhā iva dhēnavaḥ
The tortoise and the king of serpents, as well as those with hoods,
शूरघ्न त्वत्प्रतापेन रेजती रोदसी उभे ॥ ४७ ॥
akalaṅkaśaraccandravilasattvanmukhasrutāḥ
Even the earth-shaking ones, are present.
परं ब्रह्म विचिन्वन्तो हृदयाम्भोजमध्यगम् ।
mandasmitasudhādhārāstā mē kr̥ṇvantu bhēṣajam
Having become renowned, O Ambika, you are powerful.
योगिनो नारदाद्यास्त्वां सदा पश्यन्ति सूरयः ॥ ४८ ॥
dēvānījimahē pūrvaṁ tapaścakr̥mahē purā
Brahma supports the worlds while standing firm.
हतशूरमुखाशेषदैतेयं त्वां गुहास्तुवन् ।
yadguhō dēvatāsmākaṁ kavirgr̥hapatiryuvā
He who is Skanda, when asked, speaks the truth, knowledge, and non-duality of Brahman.
अग्नाविष्णू चेन्द्रवायू सोमो धाता बृहस्पतिः ॥ ४९ ॥
madīyahr̥dayāmbhōjaniryūhamaṇimañcakē
He uttered the meaning of Om, saying, "This is the auspicious one."
वाचालयस्यवाचं त्वं सचक्षुः कुरुषेऽदृशम् ।
ṣaḍānana tvatpādaḥ syādiyān prādēśasammitaḥ
He who once shone in the waters of the Jāhvavī forest,
आश्रितेभ्यो जगन्नाथ शिवो नः सुमना भव ॥ ५० ॥
cirantanavacaḥ stutyaḥ praṇavāmbujaṣaṭpadaḥ
To him, we bow, the great commander with six faces; we meditate.
स एव जगतः कर्ता भर्ता हर्ता जगद्गुरुः ।
karōtu dēvasēnēśaḥ śivā naḥ pradiśō diśaḥ
What is offered to the right hand of the goddess brings happiness to her devotees.
कुमारः सच्चिदानन्दः सोऽक्षरः परमः स्वराट् ॥ ५१ ॥
daitēyavadhasannaddhō bhavān pavanasārathiḥ
Salutations to you, O Indra and the leaders of the hosts, and to all the divine beings and the sages, as well as to the devoted yogis.
असुरान् शूरपद्मादीन् हत्वा शरवणोद्भवः ।
dvilakṣamarvatō haimē rathē yuktvā:'dhitiṣṭhati
Salutations to the lords of beings, the heroes, and their masters.
देवान् स्वस्वपदे कृत्वा सम्राडेको विराजसि ॥ ५२ ॥
gaganōcchritakōdaṇḍakirīṭaṁ śūramāhavē
Salutations to you, O Maheshana, who grants fearlessness to those who are afraid, and to the lotus-born.
तव दृष्ट्वा विश्वरूपं सहर्षभयवेपथु ।
bibhēditha tvaṁ nārācaiḥ sahasrēṇa śatēna ca
You, with a beautiful nose and face, bestow auspiciousness and fearlessness.
त्वामस्तुवन्नादितेयाः बृहस्पतिपुरोहिताः ॥ ५३ ॥
aiśāllalāṭanayanāt jātaṁ vahniryathā:'raṇēḥ
You remove the bonds of all diseases with your sidelong glances.
किन्नरा गरुडा नागा यक्षाः साध्या मरुद्गणाः ।
mumukṣavō guhaṁ brahma vicinvantu manīṣayā
O Lord of the divine army, we bow to you, O hero.
ऐन्द्रीशं त्वामहरहः विश्वे देवा उपासते ॥ ५४ ॥
hiraṇyajyōtiṣaṁ skandaṁ yācadhvaṁ bhō vanīpakāḥ
You dwell within all beings as the one subtle essence.
विश्वासान्मानुषीणां च प्रजानां पशुपक्षिणाम् ।
ēṣō:'rthinaḥ pūrayati prajayā ca dhanēna ca
You alone are established as the Supreme Soul at the end of the Vedas.
चराचराणां जगतां ध्रुवो राजा विशामयम् ॥ ५५ ॥
sannidhāsyati kiṁ svāmī bhavanāmburuhēkṣaṇaḥ
The earth, the sky, the atmosphere, the wind, the waters, the fire, and the space are all established in you, O Subrahmanya, Lord of the Universe.
अम्भोजसंवर्तिकासु राजहंसा इव प्रभो ।
tāvakaṁ mañjulaṁ rūpaṁ smaryatē na ca dr̥śyatē
In childhood, you bound Prajapati, the lord of creatures.
मदीयहृदयाम्भोजे ध्रुवस्तिष्ठाविचाचलिः ॥ ५६ ॥
yatastvaṁ jagatāmēṣāṁ āśiṣē śikhivāhana
You opened your eyes, as before, to those who are human and to the animals.
लीलामात्रकृताशेषभुवनाद्गिरिजासुतात् ।
tatō dēhi bahūnvrīhīnakr̥ṣṭā yē ca kr̥ṣṭajāḥ
In the cave of the Vedas, you reside as the six-faced one.
अथर्व चाथ ऋक्साम यजुस्तस्मादजायत ॥ ५७ ॥
dhanadhānyagr̥hān putrān dēhi dēva dayānidhē
O Lord, you are the essence of the three worlds, and those who are absorbed in you do not wander.
तिले तैलमिव प्रोतं दध्न्याज्यमिव षण्मुखे ।
tvamāśritēṣṭada iti karṇābhyāṁ bhūri viśrutam
The moments, hours, months, years, and ages are all contained within you, O Lord of the Valli, along with the fleeting moments of time.
मणौ सूत्रमिव स्यूतं ब्रह्म विश्वमिदं जगत् ॥ ५८ ॥
bhaktēbhyō mucukundākhyapramukhēbhyō yathā guha
In the fire of disease, the flames of death consume, yet by your power, both the heavens shine.
यस्तप्तादीनृषीन् शापादुद्दधार हरात्मजः ।
prādāstathā dēhi mahyamacyutāṁ bahulāṁ śriyam
Those who seek the supreme Brahman dwell in the lotus of the heart, and the yogis, like Narada and others, always behold you, O divine one.
मातुः स्तनसुधापूरे पुत्रः प्रमुदितोधयन् ॥ ५९ ॥
bhaktān tatputrasuhr̥daḥ tanmātr̥pitr̥sōdarān
Defeated are the fierce demons, and in the caves, they sing your praises.
इज्यया पूजया स्तुत्या भक्त्या च परिचर्यया ।
pāhi skanda punaścāsya dvipadō yē catuṣpadaḥ
Agni, Vishnu, Indra, Vayu, Soma, Dhata, and Brihaspati, all speak of you; grant us vision, O Lord.
ध्यानेन तपसा च त्वां देवं मनसि ईडते ॥ ६० ॥
cōravyāghrapiśācākhusarpakīṭādibādhakāt
May you, O Lord of the Universe, bring auspiciousness to us.
श्रुतिस्मृत्यागमाद्युक्तकर्मणां फलदायिने ।
bhaktānniśāsu saṁrakṣan triṣu lōkēṣu jāgr̥hi
You are indeed the creator, sustainer, and destroyer of the world, the supreme teacher of the universe.
स्कन्दाय तुभ्यं मखिभिः श्रद्धया हूयते हविः ॥ ६१ ॥
dānavēṣvapi daityēṣu rākṣasēṣvapyarātiṣu
The eternal essence of truth and bliss, you are the imperishable, the supreme self.
मूर्धा द्यौरम्बरं नाभिरूरू भूरतलं पदे ।
piśācēṣvapi gāṅgēya vikramasva mahānasi
Having vanquished the demons and the fierce lotuses, you arise from the bow of the arrow.
षण्मुखस्येत्येवमाहुः अन्तर्विश्वमिदं जगत् ॥ ६२ ॥
ādhibhirvyādhibhiścaiva pīḍitānāmaharniśam
As the sole ruler, you shine in your own realm, creating the divine abode for the gods.
भक्तसन्तापशमन प्रावृषेण्यघनाघनात् ।
dūtānāṁ vapuṣi svāminnāsuvōrjamiṣaṁ ca naḥ
Upon seeing your universal form, even the great sages tremble with fear.
स्कन्दादन्यं मनो मागाः स दृष्टो मृडयाति नः ॥ ६३ ॥
atitīvrēṇa tapasā tapyamānā aharniśam
You are praised by the great sages, the priests of Brihaspati.
जिह्वे त्वमुच्चैर्निस्तन्द्रा रात्रिन्दिवमभिष्टुहि ।
upāsata tvāṁ taptādyāḥ atha hainaṁ purarṣayaḥ
Kinnaras, Garudas, Nagas, Yakshas, Sadhyas, and the Marut hosts.
देवसेनं महासेनं अदुग्धा इव धेनवः ॥ ६४ ॥
dhyānāvāhanapūjējyāparicaryāstutiṣvaham
The gods of the universe worship you day and night.
अकलङ्कशरच्चन्द्रविलसत्त्वन्मुखस्रुताः ।
ajñō mē saphalāṁ pūjāṁ kr̥ṇuhi brahmaṇaspatē
From the trust of humans and the creatures among them.
मन्दस्मितसुधाधारास्ता मे कृण्वन्तु भेषजम् ॥ ६५ ॥
asurān rākṣasān krūrān dēvayajñavighātakān
You are the unchanging king of all that moves and does not move in the world.
देवानीजिमहे पूर्वं तपश्चकृमहे पुरा ।
jahi dēvēśa yasmāttvaṁ rakṣōhāmīvacātanaḥ
Like royal swans among the lotus blossoms.
यद्गुहो देवतास्माकं कविर्गृहपतिर्युवा ॥ ६६ ॥
durvr̥ttēbhyō dhanaṁ dhatsē nīcēbhyō:'pi dhanaṁ bahu
In my heart's lotus, may you remain steadfast and unshaken.
मदीयहृदयाम्भोजनिर्यूहमणिमञ्चके ।
na dadāsi kutō mahyaṁ ētatpr̥cchāmi samprati
From the playful creation of all worlds, O son of Girija.
षडानन त्वत्पादः स्यादियान् प्रादेशसम्मितः ॥ ६७ ॥
mukhairētānmahāraudrān dūrīkuru jagatpatē
From the Atharva and the Rik, from the Yajus, you were born.
चिरन्तनवचः स्तुत्यः प्रणवाम्बुजषट्पदः ।
mama svamabhikāṅkṣantē yē stēnā yē ca taskarāḥ
Like oil in sesame seeds, like ghee in the six-faced.
करोतु देवसेनेशः शिवा नः प्रदिशो दिशः ॥ ६८ ॥
guha tvatpādabhaktānāṁ gēhē jāgratvahardivam
Like a thread in a jewel, this universe is woven by Brahman.
दैतेयवधसन्नद्धो भवान् पवनसारथिः ।
vīrabāhumukhā vīra tē nityānucarāstava
He who lifted the cursed from their torment, the son of Hari.
द्विलक्षमर्वतो हैमे रथे युक्त्वाऽधितिष्ठति ॥ ६९ ॥
triṣaḍvilōcanēṣvēkadr̥kkaṭākṣēṇa lakṣayan
The son, filled with the nectar of his mother's breast, rejoices in delight.
गगनोच्छ्रितकोदण्डकिरीटं शूरमाहवे ।
āḍhyaṁ karōtu māṁ skandaḥ parjanyō vr̥ṣṭimāniva
Through worship, praise, devotion, and service,
बिभेदिथ त्वं नाराचैः सहस्रेण शतेन च ॥ ७० ॥
bhayānakāsurānīkakāndiśīkāḥ purā khalu
In meditation and austerity, I worship you, O God, in my mind.
ऐशाल्ललाटनयनात् जातं वह्निर्यथाऽरणेः ।
guha tvāṁ śaraṇaṁ prāpuḥ indrēṇa saha dēvatāḥ
By the authority of the Vedas, Smritis, and Agamas, the actions that yield results are offered to you with faith, O Skanda.
मुमुक्षवो गुहं ब्रह्म विचिन्वन्तु मनीषया ॥ ७१ ॥
tvāmēva kīrtayan dēva dhyāyan śr̥ṇvan prapūjayan
The heavens are your head, the navel is the earth, and the feet are the underworld; thus they say this entire universe is within you, O Six-Faced One.
हिरण्यज्योतिषं स्कन्दं याचध्वं भो वनीपकाः ।
guha tvatpādabhaktō:'haṁ jīvāni śaradaḥ śatam
May the heavy rains of devotion alleviate the sufferings of your devotees; may the mind be directed towards you, who is seen as gentle and kind.
एषोऽर्थिनः पूरयति प्रजया च धनेन च ॥ ७२ ॥
kr̥pādugdhābdhikallōlāyamānāpāṅgavīkṣaṇa
O tongue, may you sing praises without rest, day and night, to the great army of the gods.
सन्निधास्यति किं स्वामी भवनाम्बुरुहेक्षणः ।
dēhi mē guha bahvāyurdīrghāyustvamihēśiṣē
Like cows that have not been milked, may we be nourished by the great army of the divine.
तावकं मञ्जुलं रूपं स्मर्यते न च दृश्यते ॥ ७३ ॥
purārātīkṣaṇapayaḥ pārāvārasudhākara
May the unblemished moonlight of your face, which shines like the autumn moon, bring forth the nectar of sweet smiles to me as medicine.
यतस्त्वं जगतामेषां आशिषे शिखिवाहन ।
ṣaḍvaktra dhēhi kr̥payā mayi mēdhāṁ mayi prajām
We worship the great divine who performed austerities in the past;
ततो देहि बहून्व्रीहीनकृष्टा ये च कृष्टजाः ॥ ७४ ॥
bhaktacātakabr̥ndēṣṭavarṣidhārādhara prabhō
May the poet, the lord of the household, be our deity hidden in the sacred space.
धनधान्यगृहान् पुत्रान् देहि देव दयानिधे ।
asmān sañjīvaya svāminasmin lōkē śataṁ samāḥ
In the ocean of my heart, may the gems of your lotus feet be the source of my sustenance.
त्वमाश्रितेष्टद इति कर्णाभ्यां भूरि विश्रुतम् ॥ ७५ ॥
bhītā vayaṁ mahāsēna pathi durgē vanē yataḥ
May your six-faced form be the protector of the regions, and may the eternal words of praise be like the six-petaled lotus of the sacred syllable.
भक्तेभ्यो मुचुकुन्दाख्यप्रमुखेभ्यो यथा गुह ।
cōravyāghrapiśācēbhyaḥ tatō nō abhayaṁ kr̥dhi
Let the lord of the divine army, Shiva, direct us in all directions.
प्रादास्तथा देहि मह्यमच्युतां बहुलां श्रियम् ॥ ७६ ॥
vyādhayaḥ śūlakuṣṭhārśaḥ pramēhādyā yataḥ sadā
You, O wind-rider, are prepared to slay the Daityas.
भक्तान् तत्पुत्रसुहृदः तन्मातृपितृसोदरान् ।
pīḍayanti piśācādyāḥ tatō nō dhēhi bhēṣajam
With two golden chariots, you stand firm in the battle.
पाहि स्कन्द पुनश्चास्य द्विपदो ये चतुष्पदः ॥ ७७ ॥
tvadīyapādakamaladhyānavarmitavigrahān
With a crown that reaches the sky, you are a hero in the great war.
चोरव्याघ्रपिशाचाखुसर्पकीटादिबाधकात् ।
kuhakā mōhakāḥ kṣudrāḥ mā:'smānprāpannarātayaḥ
You have pierced through with thousands of arrows and hundreds more.
भक्तान्निशासु संरक्षन् त्रिषु लोकेषु जागृहि ॥ ७८ ॥
dhanadhānyapaśukṣētrabalēṣvasmadapēkṣayā
Just as fire arises from the forehead of the sacrificial offering,
दानवेष्वपि दैत्येषु राक्षसेष्वप्यरातिषु ।
dēvasēnāpatē:'smākaṁ adharē santu śatravaḥ
May those who seek liberation search for Brahman in the cave.
पिशाचेष्वपि गाङ्गेय विक्रमस्व महानसि ॥ ७९ ॥
arātikulanirmūlanālaṅkarmīṇavikrama
O forest-dwellers, may you request the golden light of Skanda.
आधिभिर्व्याधिभिश्चैव पीडितानामहर्निशम् ।
akāraṇēna bahudhā yō nō dvēṣṭi sa riṣyatu
This fulfills the desires of the seekers with progeny and wealth.
दूतानां वपुषि स्वामिन्नासुवोर्जमिषं च नः ॥ ८० ॥
mantrairyantraistathā tantrairauṣadhairāyudhairapi
What will the lord, with lotus-like eyes, provide in proximity?
अतितीव्रेण तपसा तप्यमाना अहर्निशम् ।
jighāṁsati ca yō:'smān sa dviṣanmē bahu śōcatu
Your beautiful form is remembered but not seen.
उपासत त्वां तप्ताद्याः अथ हैनं पुरर्षयः ॥ ८१ ॥
ākhaṇḍalārīnasurān tvaṁ tu spardhāvatō yathā
For you are the grantor of blessings to the world, O eagle-rider.
ध्यानावाहनपूजेज्यापरिचर्यास्तुतिष्वहम् ।
jahi gāṅgēya tau martyau yaṁ cāhaṁ dvēṣṭi yaśca mām
Therefore, grant us abundant rice and those who are cultivated.
अज्ञो मे सफलां पूजां कृणुहि ब्रह्मणस्पते ॥ ८२ ॥
tvannāmakīrtanaparakṣēmaṅkarakarāmbuja
Give us wealth, grains, and sons, O deity of compassion.
असुरान् राक्षसान् क्रूरान् देवयज्ञविघातकान् ।
tamimaṁ saṁhara svāmin yaśca nō dvēṣatē janaḥ
You are renowned for your great fame, as one who bestows refuge.
जहि देवेश यस्मात्त्वं रक्षोहामीवचातनः ॥ ८३ ॥
dūrē:'ntikē vā yaḥ śatruḥ asmānanaparādhinaḥ
To the devotees, especially to those like Mucukunda, as Guha gave,
दुर्वृत्तेभ्यो धनं धत्से नीचेभ्योऽपि धनं बहु ।
śapatyēnaṁ jahi skanda yaśca naḥ śapataḥ śapāt
So grant me, O Acyuta, abundant wealth.
न ददासि कुतो मह्यं एतत्पृच्छामि सम्प्रति ॥ ८४ ॥
cakṣuṣā manasā vācā mantrēṇa havanēna ca
Protect the devotees, the sons and friends of that Lord,
मुखैरेतान्महारौद्रान् दूरीकुरु जगत्पते ।
tatkr̥tyāṁ nāśaya svāmin bhrātr̥vyasyābhidāsataḥ
And those who are related to them, O Skanda, protect them again.
मम स्वमभिकाङ्क्षन्ते ये स्तेना ये च तस्कराः ॥ ८५ ॥
macchidrānvēṣiṇaḥ śatrōḥ dhanamāyuḥ prajāḥ paśūn
From thieves, tigers, ghosts, snakes, and other obstacles,
गुह त्वत्पादभक्तानां गेहे जाग्रत्वहर्दिवम् ।
sarvānnāśaya śūraghna mā tasyōcchēṣi kiñcana
Protect the devotees during the night, and keep watch in all three worlds.
वीरबाहुमुखा वीर ते नित्यानुचरास्तव ॥ ८६ ॥
avidvāṁsaśca vidvāṁsaḥ svapnē jāgrati vā guha
Even among the demons, the asuras, and the rakshasas,
त्रिषड्विलोचनेष्वेकदृक्कटाक्षेण लक्षयन् ।
tēbhyō mōcaya māṁ yadyadēnāṁsi cakr̥mā vayam
And even among the ghosts, O son of Ganga, be valiant.
आढ्यं करोतु मां स्कन्दः पर्जन्यो वृष्टिमानिव ॥ ८७ ॥
vayamūcima yaddēva jihvayā dēvahēlanam
From afflictions and diseases that torment day and night,
भयानकासुरानीककान्दिशीकाः पुरा खलु ।
ēnasō mōcayāgnēya tvaṁ hi vēttha yathātatham
In the form of messengers, O Lord, do not let us be harmed.
गुह त्वां शरणं प्रापुः इन्द्रेण सह देवताः ॥ ८८ ॥
vittārthaṁ vā tathā:'nyārthaṁ viprārthaṁ gō:'rthamēva vā
Those who are intensely engaged in austerities, day and night,
त्वामेव कीर्तयन् देव ध्यायन् शृण्वन् प्रपूजयन् ।
punīhyasmāṁstataḥ skanda yatkiñcānr̥tamūdima
Worship you, and thus the ancient sages also do.
गुह त्वत्पादभक्तोऽहं जीवानि शरदः शतम् ॥ ८९ ॥
tamāgasaṁ kṣamasva tvaṁ svakīyābhīṣṭalipsayā
In meditation, offerings, worship, and praises, I am devoted to you.
कृपादुग्धाब्धिकल्लोलायमानापाङ्गवीक्षण ।
samprārthya tubhyaṁ vā:'nyasmai yadvācā:'nr̥tamūdima
O Brahmanaspati, make my worship fruitful.
देहि मे गुह बह्वायुर्दीर्घायुस्त्वमिहेशिषे ॥ ९० ॥
saundaryavallyā sahitaṁ ambayā dēvasēnayā
Destroy the cruel asuras and rakshasas who obstruct the divine sacrifices.
पुरारातीक्षणपयः पारावारसुधाकर ।
mahāsēnaṁ bhajē dēvaṁ satyēna tapasā saha
O Lord of the Gods, since you are the protector of the demons,
षड्वक्त्र धेहि कृपया मयि मेधां मयि प्रजाम् ॥ ९१ ॥
yō vai paṭhēdguhasyainaṁ vēdāntastavamādarāt
You grant wealth to the wicked and even to the lowly.
भक्तचातकबृन्देष्टवर्षिधाराधर प्रभो ।
skāndāḥ kaṭākṣāstasyōccairāyuḥ kīrtiṁ prajāṁ daduḥ
Wherefore do you not give me anything? I ask this now.
अस्मान् सञ्जीवय स्वामिनस्मिन् लोके शतं समाः ॥ ९२ ॥
skandasyainaṁ vēdapādastavaṁ yō bhaktyā nityaṁ śrāvayēdvā paṭhēdvā
O Lord of the Universe, drive away these fierce ones with your faces.
भीता वयं महासेन पथि दुर्गे वने यतः ।
bhūyāsustē tasya martyasya śīghraṁ yē yē kāmā durlabhā martyalōkē
Those who are thieves and robbers desire my possessions.
चोरव्याघ्रपिशाचेभ्यः ततो नो अभयं कृधि ॥ ९३ ॥
iti skandavēdapādastavaḥ
In the house of those devoted to your feet, O Guha, the divine is ever awake.
