श्रीदेव्युवाच ।
bhagavan brūhi tat stōtraṁ sarvakāmaprasādhanaṁ
The goddess spoke
भगवन् ब्रूहि तत् स्तोत्रं सर्वकामप्रसाधनं । यस्य श्रवणमात्रेण नान्यच्छ्रोतव्यमिष्यते ॥ १ ॥
yasya śravaṇamātrēṇa nānyacchrōtavyamiṣyatē
O Lord, please tell me that hymn which fulfills all desires,
यदि मेऽनुग्रहः कार्यः प्रीतिश्चापि ममोपरि । तदिदं कथय ब्रह्मन् विमलं यन्महीतले ॥ २ ॥
yadi mē:'nugrahaḥ kāryaḥ prītiścāpi mamōpari
By merely hearing which, nothing else needs to be listened to.
ईश्वर उवाच । शृणु देवि प्रवक्ष्यामि सर्वकामप्रसाधनं ।
tadidaṁ kathaya brahman vimalaṁ yanmahītalē
If I am to receive grace, and also joy over me,
हृदयं भुवनेश्वर्याः स्तोत्रमस्ति यशोदयम् ॥ ३ ॥
īśvara uvāca
Then please tell me this, O Brahman, that is pure and on this earth.
ओं अस्य श्रीभुवनेश्ववरीहृदयस्तोत्रमन्त्रस्य शक्तिः ऋषिः – गायत्री छन्दः – श्रीभुवनेश्वरी देवता – हकारो बीजं – ईकारश्शक्तिः – रेफः कीलकं – सकल मनोवाञ्छितसिद्ध्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः ॥
śr̥ṇu dēvi pravakṣyāmi sarvakāmaprasādhanaṁ
The Lord replied
करन्यासः ॥
hr̥dayaṁ bhuvanēśvaryāḥ stōtramasti yaśōdayam
Listen, O Goddess, I will explain the hymn that fulfills all desires.
ओं ह्रीं अङ्गुष्ठाभ्यां नमः ।
ōṁ asya śrībhuvanēśvavarīhr̥dayastōtramantrasya śaktiḥ r̥ṣiḥ – gāyatrī chandaḥ – śrībhuvanēśvarī dēvatā – hakārō bījaṁ – īkāraśśaktiḥ – rēphaḥ kīlakaṁ – sakala manōvāñchitasiddhyarthē japē viniyōgaḥ
There exists a hymn in the heart of Bhuvaneshvari that brings fame.
ओं श्रीं तर्जनीभ्यां नमः । ओं ऐं मध्यमाभ्यां नमः ।
karanyāsaḥ
Om, this hymn of the heart of Sri Bhuvaneshvari is a mantra; its power is the sage – Gayatri, its meter – the deity is Sri Bhuvaneshvari – the seed is the syllable 'ha' – the power is the syllable 'i' – the key is the syllable 'ra' – for the accomplishment of all mental desires, the usage is prescribed.
ओं ह्रीं अनामिकाभ्यां नमः । ओं श्रीं कनिष्ठिकाभ्यां नमः ।
ōṁ hrīṁ aṅguṣṭhābhyāṁ namaḥ

ओं ऐं करतलकरपृष्ठाभ्यां नमः । अङ्गन्यासः ॥
ōṁ śrīṁ tarjanībhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, Hrim, I bow with my thumb.
ओं ह्रीं हृदयाय नमः । ओं श्रीं शिरसे स्वाहा ।
ōṁ aiṁ madhyamābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, Srim, I bow with my index finger.
ओं ऐं शिखायै वषट् । ओं ह्रीं कवचाय हुं ।
ōṁ hrīṁ anāmikābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, Aim, I bow with my middle finger.
ओं श्रीं नेत्रत्रयाय वौषट् । ओं ऐं अस्त्राय फट् ।
ōṁ śrīṁ kaniṣṭhikābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, Hrim, I bow with my ring finger.
ध्यानम् ॥
ōṁ aiṁ karatalakarapr̥ṣṭhābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, Srim, I bow with my little finger.
ध्यायेद्ब्रह्मादिकानां कृतजनिजननीं योगिनीं योगयोनिं
aṅganyāsaḥ
Om, salutations to the palms of the hands.
देवानां जीवनायोज्ज्वलितजयपरज्योतिरुग्राङ्गधात्रीं । शङ्खं चक्रं च बाणं धनुरपि दधतीं दोश्चतुष्काम्बुजातौ
ōṁ hrīṁ hr̥dayāya namaḥ
The offering of the limbs.
मायामाद्यां विशिष्टां भव भव भुवनां भूभवा भारभूमिम् ॥ ४ ॥
ōṁ śrīṁ śirasē svāhā
Om, salutations to the heart.
यदाज्ञया यो जगदाद्यशेषं
ōṁ aiṁ śikhāyai vaṣaṭ
Om, salutations to the head.
सृजत्यजः श्रीपतिरौरसं वा । बिभर्ति संहन्ति भवस्तदन्ते
ōṁ hrīṁ kavacāya huṁ
Om, salutations to the crown.
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ ५ ॥
ōṁ śrīṁ nētratrayāya vauṣaṭ
Om, salutations to the armor.
जगज्जनानन्दकरीं जयाख्यां
ōṁ aiṁ astrāya phaṭ
Om, salutations to the three eyes.
यशस्विनीं यन्त्रसुयज्ञयोनिम् । जितामितामित्रकृतप्रपञ्चां
dhyānam
Om, salutations to the weapon.
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ ६ ॥
dhyāyēdbrahmādikānāṁ kr̥tajanijananīṁ yōginīṁ yōgayōniṁ dēvānāṁ jīvanāyōjjvalitajayaparajyōtirugrāṅgadhātrīṁ
Meditate on the yogini, the mother of yoga, who is the source of creation,
हरौ प्रसुप्ते भुवनत्रयान्ते-
śaṅkhaṁ cakraṁ ca bāṇaṁ dhanurapi dadhatīṁ dōścatuṣkāmbujātau māyāmādyāṁ viśiṣṭāṁ bhava bhava bhuvanāṁ bhūbhavā bhārabhūmim
the one who brings forth the radiant light of the gods for the sake of life.
प्यनारतन्नाभिजपद्मजन्मा । विधिस्ततोऽन्धे विदधार यत्पदं
yadājñayā yō jagadādyaśēṣaṁ sr̥jatyajaḥ śrīpatiraurasaṁ vā
Holding the conch, the discus, the arrow, and the bow, she is the lotus of the two.
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ ७ ॥
bibharti saṁhanti bhavastadantē bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
O Maya, the supreme, the one who is distinct, become, become the earth of the world.
न विद्यते क्वापि तु जन्म यस्या
jagajjanānandakarīṁ jayākhyāṁ yaśasvinīṁ yantrasuyajñayōnim
By whose command the entire universe is created and dissolved,
न वा स्थितिः सान्ततिकीह यस्याः । न वा निरोधेऽखिलकर्म यस्या
jitāmitāmitrakr̥taprapañcāṁ bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
the Lord who bears all and destroys at the end,
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ ८ ॥
harau prasuptē bhuvanatrayāntē- pyanāratannābhijapadmajanmā
we worship that Divine Mother of the universe,
कटाक्षमोक्षाचरणोग्रवित्ता
vidhistatō:'ndhē vidadhāra yatpadaṁ bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
who brings joy to all beings, known as victory,
निवेशितार्णा करुणार्द्रचित्ता । सुभक्तयेराति समीप्सितं या
na vidyatē kvāpi tu janma yasyā na vā sthitiḥ sāntatikīha yasyāḥ
the illustrious one, the source of the sacred fire of the machine,
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ ९ ॥
na vā nirōdhē:'khilakarma yasyā bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
who has conquered the manifold creation,
यतो जगज्जन्म बभूव योने-
kaṭākṣamōkṣācaraṇōgravittā nivēśitārṇā karuṇārdracittā
we worship that Divine Mother of the universe.
स्तदेव मध्ये प्रतिपाति यां वा । तदत्ति यान्तेऽखिलमुग्रकालि
subhaktayērāti samīpsitaṁ yā bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
In the sleep of the Lord, at the end of the three worlds,
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ १० ॥
yatō jagajjanma babhūva yōnē- stadēva madhyē pratipāti yāṁ vā
is born the lotus from the navel of the unmanifest.
सुषुप्तिकाले जनमध्ययन्त्या
tadatti yāntē:'khilamugrakāli bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
We worship that Goddess who holds the foot of the one who is the cause of all creation.
यया जनः स्वप्नमवैति किञ्चित् । प्रबुध्यते जाग्रति जीव एष
suṣuptikālē janamadhyayantyā yayā janaḥ svapnamavaiti kiñcit
There is no birth of hers anywhere, nor is there any stability in this world for her.
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ ११ ॥
prabudhyatē jāgrati jīva ēṣa bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
Neither is there any cessation of all actions for her; we worship that Goddess who is the Lord of the Universe.
दयास्फुरत्कोरकटाक्षलाभा-
dayāsphuratkōrakaṭākṣalābhā- nnakētra yasyāḥ prabhavanti siddhāḥ
With a glance that liberates, she is the one who is deeply compassionate and has a tender heart.
न्नकेत्र यस्याः प्रभवन्ति सिद्धाः । कवित्वमीशित्वमपि स्वतन्त्रा
kavitvamīśitvamapi svatantrā bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
We worship that Goddess who is desired by the devotees.
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ १२ ॥
lasanmukhāmbhōruhamutsphurantaṁ hr̥di praṇidhyāya diśi sphurantaḥ
From whom the entire world of birth arises, and in whom it is also absorbed,
लसन्मुखाम्भोरुहमुत्स्फुरन्तं
yasyāḥ kr̥pārdraṁ pravikāsayanti bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
We worship that Goddess who is the Lord of the Universe.
हृदि प्रणिध्याय दिशि स्फुरन्तः । यस्याः कृपार्द्रं प्रविकासयन्ति
yadānurāgānugatālicitrā- ścirantanaprēmapariplutāṅgāḥ
In the state of deep sleep, when the mind is absorbed,
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ १३ ॥
sunirbhayāssanti pramudya yasyāḥ bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
That which causes the beings to dream something, when awakened, this life is she;
यदानुरागानुगतालिचित्रा-
harirvirañcirhara īśitāraḥ purō:'vatiṣṭhanti paraṁnatāṅgāḥ
We worship that Goddess who is the Lord of the Universe.
श्चिरन्तनप्रेमपरिप्लुताङ्गाः । सुनिर्भयास्सन्ति प्रमुद्य यस्याः
yasyāssamicchanti sadānukūlyaṁ bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
By the grace of her compassionate glance, the perfected beings arise from her field.
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ १४ ॥
manuṁ yadīyaṁ haramagnisaṁsthaṁ tataśca vāmaśruticandrasaktam
She possesses the independence of poetry and lordship; we worship that Goddess who is the Lord of the Universe.
हरिर्विरञ्चिर्हर ईशितारः
japanti yē syussuravanditāstē bhajāmahē śrībhuvanēśvarīṁ tām
With her beautiful face resembling a lotus, shining in the heart,
पुरोऽवतिष्ठन्ति परंनताङ्गाः । यस्यास्समिच्छन्ति सदानुकूल्यं
prasīdatu prēmarasārdracittā sadā hi sā śrībhuvanēśvarī mē
Her grace awakens and illuminates the directions; we worship that Goddess who is the Lord of the Universe.
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ १५ ॥
kr̥pākaṭākṣēṇa kubērakalpā bhavanti yasyāḥ padabhaktibhājaḥ
Those who are filled with eternal love and are devoted to her,
मनुं यदीयं हरमग्निसंस्थं
mudā supāṭhyaṁ bhuvanēśvarīyaṁ sadā satāṁ stōtramidaṁ susēvyam
Fearlessly rejoice in her presence; we worship that Goddess who is the Lord of the Universe.
ततश्च वामश्रुतिचन्द्रसक्तम् । जपन्ति ये स्युस्सुरवन्दितास्ते
sukhapradaṁ syātkalikalmaṣaghnaṁ suśr̥ṇvatāṁ sampaṭhatāṁ praśasyam
The Lord Hari, the radiant one, the supreme ruler,
भजामहे श्रीभुवनेश्वरीं ताम् ॥ १६ ॥
ētattu hr̥dayaṁ stōtraṁ paṭhēdyastu samāhitaḥ
Resides in the forefront, with the highest of beings.
प्रसीदतु प्रेमरसार्द्रचित्ता
bhavēttasyēṣṭadā dēvī prasannā bhuvanēśvarī
Whose favor is always sought, ever favorable,
सदा हि सा श्रीभुवनेश्वरी मे । कृपाकटाक्षेण कुबेरकल्पा
dadāti dhanamāyuṣyaṁ puṇyaṁ puṇyamatiṁ tathā
We worship that Goddess, the Lord of the Universe.
भवन्ति यस्याः पदभक्तिभाजः ॥ १७ ॥
naiṣṭhikīṁ dēvabhaktiṁ ca gurubhaktiṁ viśēṣataḥ
If one meditates on the Lord, who is the essence of fire,
मुदा सुपाठ्यं भुवनेश्वरीयं
pūrṇimāyāṁ caturdaśyāṁ kujavārē viśēṣataḥ
Then the moon-like grace of the left side will shine.
सदा सतां स्तोत्रमिदं सुसेव्यम् । सुखप्रदं स्यात्कलिकल्मषघ्नं
paṭhanīyamidaṁ stōtraṁ dēvasadmani yatnataḥ
Those who chant, honored by the gods,
सुशृण्वतां सम्पठतां प्रशस्यम् ॥ १८ ॥
yatrakutrāpi pāṭhēna stōtrasyāsya phalaṁ bhavēt
We worship that Goddess, the Lord of the Universe.
एतत्तु हृदयं स्तोत्रं पठेद्यस्तु समाहितः ।
sarvasthānēṣu dēvēśyāḥ pūtadēhaḥ sadā paṭhēt
May she be pleased with my heart, filled with love,
भवेत्तस्येष्टदा देवी प्रसन्ना भुवनेश्वरी ॥ १९ ॥
iti nīlasarasvatītantrē śrī bhuvanēśvarīpaṭalē śrīdēvīśvarasaṁvādē śrībhuvanēśvarī hr̥dayastōtraṁ sampūrṇam
For she is indeed my Goddess, the Lord of the Universe.
