Sri Chandramouleshwara Stotram

ओंकारजपरतानामोंकारार्थं मुदा विवृण्वानम्
ōṁkārajaparatānāmōṁkārārthaṁ mudā vivr̥ṇvānam
Oṁkāra, the essence of the sacred syllable, I joyfully reveal it.
ओजःप्रदं नतेभ्यस्तमहं प्रणमामि चन्द्रमौलीशम्
ōjaḥpradaṁ natēbhyastamahaṁ praṇamāmi candramaulīśam
I bow down to the moon-crested Lord, who grants strength to the humble.
नम्रसुरासुरनिकरं नलिनाहङ्कारहारिपदयुगलम्
namrasurāsuranikaraṁ nalināhaṅkārahāripadayugalam
I bow down to the moon-crested Lord, who is the source of the pride of both gods and demons, and who is adorned with the lotus garland.
नमदिष्टदानधीरं सततं प्रणमामि चन्द्रमौलीशम्
namadiṣṭadānadhīraṁ satataṁ praṇamāmi candramaulīśam
I constantly bow down to the moon-crested Lord, who is wise and grants wishes to those who seek.
मननाद्यत्पदयोः खलु महतीं सिद्धिं जवात्प्रपद्यन्ते
mananādyatpadayōḥ khalu mahatīṁ siddhiṁ javātprapadyantē
Indeed, those who meditate on His feet attain great success swiftly.
मन्देतरलक्ष्मीप्रदमनिशं प्रणमामि चन्द्रमौलीशम्
mandētaralakṣmīpradamaniśaṁ praṇamāmi candramaulīśam
I bow down to the moon-crested Lord, who bestows prosperity like the goddess of fortune.
शितिकण्ठमिन्दुदिनकरशुचिलोचनमम्बुजाक्षविधिसेव्यम्
śitikaṇṭhamindudinakaraśucilōcanamambujākṣavidhisēvyam
I bow down to the moon-crested Lord, whose throat is like the cooling moon, whose eyes are like lotus petals, and who is served by the goddess of learning.
नतमतिदानधुरीणं सततं प्रणमामि चन्द्रमौलीशम्
natamatidānadhurīṇaṁ satataṁ praṇamāmi candramaulīśam
I constantly bow down to the moon-crested Lord, who bears the burden of the world with great humility.
वाचो विनिवर्तन्ते यस्मादप्राप्य सह हृदैवेति
vācō vinivartantē yasmādaprāpya saha hr̥daivēti
I bow down to the moon-crested Lord, from whom words retreat, unable to reach Him.
गीयन्ते श्रुतिततिभिस्तमहं प्रणमामि चन्द्रमौलीशम्
gīyantē śrutitatibhistamahaṁ praṇamāmi candramaulīśam
I bow down to the moon-crested Lord, who is sung about by the wise, who have attained knowledge.
यच्छन्ति यत्पदाम्बुजभक्ताः कुतुकात्स्वभक्तेभ्यः
yacchanti yatpadāmbujabhaktāḥ kutukātsvabhaktēbhyaḥ
I bow down to the moon-crested Lord, who grants all human pursuits to His devotees with love.
सर्वानपि पुरुषार्थांस्तमहं प्रणमामि चन्द्रमौलीशम्
sarvānapi puruṣārthāṁstamahaṁ praṇamāmi candramaulīśam
By reciting this praise, composed of five syllables, one attains firm devotion to Shiva, enjoying worldly pleasures and ultimately liberation.
पञ्चाक्षरमनुवर्णैरादौ क्लुप्तां स्तुतिं पठन्नेनाम्
pañcākṣaramanuvarṇairādau kluptāṁ stutiṁ paṭhannēnām
Thus, this hymn to the moon-crested Lord was composed by the revered sages of the blissful consciousness of Shiva.
प्राप्य दृढां शिवभक्तिं भुक्त्वा भोगाम्ल्लभेत मुक्तिमपि
prāpya dr̥ḍhāṁ śivabhaktiṁ bhuktvā bhōgām̐llabhēta muktimapi
