श्रीशात्मभूमुख्यसुरार्चिताङ्घ्रिं
śrīśātmabhūmukhyasurārcitāṅghriṁ śrīkaṇṭhaśarvādipadābhidhēyam
I bow to the great Lord Chandramauli, who is worshipped by the foremost of gods, and whose feet are the refuge of the essence of the self.
श्रीकण्ठशर्वादिपदाभिधेयम् ।
śrīśaṅkarācāryahr̥dabjavāsaṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
I bow to the great Lord Chandramauli, who has a moon-like face and whose eyes are like the cool moonlight.
श्रीशङ्कराचार्यहृदब्जवासं
1 caṇḍāṁśuśītāṁśukr̥śānunētraṁ caṇḍīśamukhyapramathēḍyapādam
I bow to the great Lord Chandramauli, who is the cause of creation, sustenance, and destruction, and who radiates the brilliance of the sun.
श्रीचन्द्रमौलीशमहं नमामि ॥ १
ṣaḍāsyanāgāsyasuśōbhipārśvaṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
I bow to the great Lord Chandramauli, whose feet are adorned with the glow of the moon and who is surrounded by serpents.
चण्डांशुशीतांशुकृशानुनेत्रं
2 dravyādisr̥ṣṭisthitināśahētuṁ ravyāditējāṁsyapi bhāsayantam
I bow to the great Lord Chandramauli, who dispels the pride of the demons and is the refuge of the daughter of the mountains.
चण्डीशमुख्यप्रमथेड्यपादम् ।
pavyāyudhādistutavaibhavaṁ taṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
I bow to the great Lord Chandramauli, who is sung about in the scriptures and is served by the great sages.
षडास्यनागास्यसुशोभिपार्श्वं
3 maulisphurajjahnusutāsitāṁśuṁ vyālēśasaṁvēṣṭitapāṇipādam
I bow to the great Lord Chandramauli, who is adorned by the intoxicated elephants and is ever-present in the hearts of the yogis.
श्रीचन्द्रमौलीशमहं नमामि ॥ २
śūlādinānāyudhaśōbhamānaṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
I bow to the great Lord Chandramauli, who is contemplated by the best of swans and who hears the cries of those lost in the ocean of worldly existence.
द्रव्यादिसृष्टिस्थितिनाशहेतुं
4 līlāvinirdhūtakr̥tāntadarpaṁ śailātmajāsaṁśritavāmabhāgam
I bow to that beloved of the singers, the eight-formed one,
रव्यादितेजांस्यपि भासयन्तम् ।
śūlāgranirbhinnasurārisaṅghaṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
I bow to the great Lord with the moon on His head.
पव्यायुधादिस्तुतवैभवं तं
5 śataiḥ śrutīnāṁ parigīyamānaṁ yatairmunīndraiḥ parisēvyamānam
I bow to Him who is the essence of eternal consciousness,
श्रीचन्द्रमौलीशमहं नमामि ॥ ३
nataiḥ surēndrairabhipūjyamānaṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
The refuge of the good, the embodiment of truth and bliss,
मौलिस्फुरज्जह्नुसुतासितांशुं
6 mattēbhakr̥tyā pariśōbhitāṅgaṁ cittē yatīnāṁ satataṁ vasantam
The one who has vanquished ignorance and is full of valor,
व्यालेशसंवेष्टितपाणिपादम् ।
vittēśamukhyaiḥ parivēṣṭitaṁ taṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
I bow to the great Lord with the moon on His head.
शूलादिनानायुधशोभमानं
7 haṁsōttamaiścētasi cintyamānaṁ saṁsārapāthōnidhikarṇadhāram
I bow to Him who transcends illusion, fearless and ever awake,
श्रीचन्द्रमौलीशमहं नमामि ॥ ४
taṁ sāmagānapriyamaṣṭamūrtiṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
The destroyer of delusion, the great Lord who conquers death,
लीलाविनिर्धूतकृतान्तदर्पं
8 natāghahaṁ nityacidēkarūpaṁ satāṁ gatiṁ satyasukhasvarūpam
The one who is like the blue lotus, full of compassion,
शैलात्मजासंश्रितवामभागम् ।
hatāndhakaṁ hr̥dyaparākramaṁ taṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
I bow to the great Lord with the moon on His head.
शूलाग्रनिर्भिन्नसुरारिसङ्घं
9 māyātigaṁ vītabhayaṁ vinidraṁ mōhāntakaṁ mr̥tyuharaṁ mahēśam
He is indeed the friend of all, the Lord of all service,
श्रीचन्द्रमौलीशमहं नमामि ॥ ५
phālānalaṁ nīlagalaṁ kr̥pāluṁ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
He is the son who is skilled in dispelling obstacles,
शतैः श्रुतीनां परिगीयमानं
10 mitraṁ hi yasyākhilaśēvadhīśaḥ putraśca vighnaughavibhēdadakṣaḥ
He is the vessel of compassion for the entire world,
यतैर्मुनीन्द्रैः परिसेव्यमानम् ।
pātraṁ kr̥pāyāśca samastalōkaḥ śrīcandramaulīśamahaṁ namāmi
I bow to the great Lord with the moon on His head.
नतैः सुरेन्द्रैरभिपूज्यमानं
11 iti śrī candramaulīśvara varṇamālā stōtram
