Sri Chidambara Panchachamara Stotram
The stotram describes the glory of Lord Shiva and his divine attributes, invoking his blessings through the symbolism of the Panchachamara.
श्री नटराज स्तोत्राणि
kadambakānanapriyaṁ cidambayā vihāriṇaṁ madēbhakumbhagumphitasvaḍimbhalālanōtsukam
O Lord Nataraja, I bow to you, the embodiment of joy in the Kadamba forest,
कदम्बकाननप्रियं चिदम्बया विहारिणं
sadambhakāmakhaṇḍanaṁ sadambuvāhinīdharaṁ hr̥dambujē jagadguruṁ cidambaraṁ vibhāvayē
O Cidambara, the one who delights in the company of the divine,
मदेभकुम्भगुम्फितस्वडिम्भलालनोत्सुकम् । सदम्भकामखण्डनं सदम्बुवाहिनीधरं
samastabhaktapōṣaṇasvahastabaddhakaṅkaṇaṁ praśastakīrtivaibhavaṁ nirastasajjanāpadam
You are adorned with the brilliance of a thousand moons,
हृदम्बुजे जगद्गुरुं चिदम्बरं विभावये ॥ १ ॥
karasthamuktisādhanaṁ śiraḥsthacandramaṇḍanaṁ hr̥dambujē jagadguruṁ cidambaraṁ vibhāvayē
And your heart blooms with the essence of the universe,
समस्तभक्तपोषणस्वहस्तबद्धकङ्कणं
jaṭākirīṭamaṇḍitaṁ niṭālalōcanānvitaṁ paṭīkr̥tāṣṭadiktaṭaṁ paṭīrapaṅkalēpanam
You are the guru of the world, Cidambara, I meditate upon you,
प्रशस्तकीर्तिवैभवं निरस्तसज्जनापदम् । करस्थमुक्तिसाधनं शिरःस्थचन्द्रमण्डनं
naṭaughapūrvabhāvinaṁ kuṭhārapāśadhāriṇaṁ hr̥dambujē jagadguruṁ cidambaraṁ vibhāvayē
You nourish all devotees, your hands adorned with bangles,
हृदम्बुजे जगद्गुरुं चिदम्बरं विभावये ॥ २ ॥
kuraṅgaśābaśōbhitaṁ ciraṁ gajānanārcitaṁ purāṅganāvicāradaṁ varāṅgarāgarañjitam
Your fame and glory are praised, dispelling the misfortunes of the righteous,
जटाकिरीटमण्डितं निटाललोचनान्वितं
kharāṅgajātanāśakaṁ turaṅgamīkr̥tāgamaṁ hr̥dambujē jagadguruṁ cidambaraṁ vibhāvayē
You hold the key to liberation in your hands, your head adorned with the moon,
पटीकृताष्टदिक्तटं पटीरपङ्कलेपनम् । नटौघपूर्वभाविनं कुठारपाशधारिणं
amandabhāgyabhājanaṁ sumandahāsasanmukhaṁ sumandamandagāminīgirīndrakanyakādhavam
O Lord Nataraja, I bow to you, the embodiment of joy in the Kadamba forest,
हृदम्बुजे जगद्गुरुं चिदम्बरं विभावये ॥ ३ ॥
śamaṁ damaṁ dayālutāmamandayantamātmanō hr̥dambujē jagadguruṁ cidambaraṁ vibhāvayē
Your crown is adorned with matted hair, your eyes are enchanting,
कुरङ्गशाबशोभितं चिरं गजाननार्चितं
karīndracarmavāsasaṁ girīndracāpadhāriṇaṁ surēndramukhyapūjitaṁ khagēndravāhanapriyam
You are the essence of the eight directions, your body is painted with colors,
पुराङ्गनाविचारदं वराङ्गरागरञ्जितम् । खराङ्गजातनाशकं तुरङ्गमीकृतागमं
ahīndrabhūṣaṇōjjvalaṁ nagēndrajāvilāsinaṁ hr̥dambujē jagadguruṁ cidambaraṁ vibhāvayē
You embody the dance of the celestial beings, holding the musical instruments,
हृदम्बुजे जगद्गुरुं चिदम्बरं विभावये ॥ ४ ॥
malāpahāriṇītaṭē sadā vilāsakāriṇaṁ balāriśāpabhañjanaṁ lalāmarūpalōcanam
O Lord Nataraja, I bow to you, the embodiment of joy in the Kadamba forest,
अमन्दभाग्यभाजनं सुमन्दहाससन्मुखं
lasatphaṇīndrahāriṇaṁ jvalattriśūladhāriṇaṁ hr̥dambujē jagadguruṁ cidambaraṁ vibhāvayē
You are adorned with the beauty of the deer, worshipped by the elephant-faced one,
सुमन्दमन्दगामिनीगिरीन्द्रकन्यकाधवम् । शमं दमं दयालुताममन्दयन्तमात्मनो
śaśāṅkabhānuvītihōtrarājitatrilōcanaṁ viśālavakṣasaṁ sudīrghabāhudaṇḍamaṇḍitam
You are the essence of the celestial maidens, radiating beauty,
हृदम्बुजे जगद्गुरुं चिदम्बरं विभावये ॥ ५ ॥
digambarōllasadvapurdharaṁ dharārathānvitaṁ hr̥dambujē jagadguruṁ cidambaraṁ vibhāvayē
You destroy the pride of the elephant, and you are the essence of the swift horse,
करीन्द्रचर्मवाससं गिरीन्द्रचापधारिणं
sadantaraṅgasajjanaughapāpasaṅghanāśanē madāndhayuktadurjanāliśikṣaṇē vicakṣaṇaḥ
O Lord Nataraja, I bow to you, the embodiment of joy in the Kadamba forest,
सुरेन्द्रमुख्यपूजितं खगेन्द्रवाहनप्रियम् । अहीन्द्रभूषणोज्ज्वलं नगेन्द्रजाविलासिनं
cidambarākhyasadgurusvarūpamētya bhūtalē sadāśivō virājatē sadā mudānvitō haraḥ
You are the recipient of boundless fortune, with a face that radiates joy,
हृदम्बुजे जगद्गुरुं चिदम्बरं विभावये ॥ ६ ॥
cidambarākhyasadgurōridaṁ sadā vilāsinaṁ mudā likhanti yē sakr̥t sadōpamānamaṣṭakam
You are the beloved of the mountain maidens, the daughter of the hills,
मलापहारिणीतटे सदा विलासकारिणं
sadā vasēttadālayē haripriyā tadānanē vidhipriyā ca niścalā jagadgurōranugrahāt
You embody tranquility, self-control, and compassion,
बलारिशापभञ्जनं ललामरूपलोचनम् । लसत्फणीन्द्रहारिणं ज्वलत्त्रिशूलधारिणं
