Sri Matangi Stotram 3
The Sri Matangi Stotram consists of verses praising Goddess Matangi, focusing on her attributes related to knowledge and creativity.
नमामि वरदां देवीं सुमुखीं सर्वसिद्धिदाम् । सूर्यकोटिनिभां देवीं वह्निरूपां व्यवस्थिताम् ॥ १ ॥
namāmi varadāṁ dēvīṁ sumukhīṁ sarvasiddhidām
I bow to the goddess Varada, with a beautiful face, who grants all accomplishments.
रक्तवस्त्र नितम्बां च रक्तमाल्योपशोभिताम् । गुञ्जाहारस्तनाढ्यान्तां परं ज्योति स्वरूपिणीम् ॥ २ ॥
sūryakōṭinibhāṁ dēvīṁ vahnirūpāṁ vyavasthitām
The goddess, shining like a million suns, takes the form of fire and is ever-present.
मारणं मोहनं वश्यं स्तम्भनाकर्षदायिनी । मुण्डकर्त्रिं शरावामां परं ज्योति स्वरूपिणीम् ॥ ३ ॥
raktavastra nitambāṁ ca raktamālyōpaśōbhitām
Adorned with a red garment and embellished with a red garland,
स्वयम्भुकुसुमप्रीतां ऋतुयोनिनिवासिनीम् । शवस्थां स्मेरवदनां परं ज्योति स्वरूपिणीम् ॥ ४ ॥
guñjāhārastanāḍhyāntāṁ paraṁ jyōti svarūpiṇīm
She is the supreme light, residing in the heart of the one who wears a necklace of gunja beads.
रजस्वला भवेन्नित्यं पूजेष्टफलदायिनी । मद्यप्रियं रतिमयीं परं ज्योति स्वरूपिणीम् ॥ ५ ॥
māraṇaṁ mōhanaṁ vaśyaṁ stambhanākarṣadāyinī
She who grants death, enchantment, control, and the power to freeze.
शिव विष्णु विरञ्चिनां साद्यां बुद्धिप्रदायिनीम् । असाध्यं साधिनीं नित्यां परं ज्योति स्वरूपिणीम् ॥ ६ ॥
muṇḍakartriṁ śarāvāmāṁ paraṁ jyōti svarūpiṇīm
With a shaven head, she is the supreme light, taking the form of a bow.
रात्रौ पूजा बलियुतां गोमांस रुधिरप्रियाम् । नानालङ्कारिणीं रौद्रीं पिशाचगणसेविताम् ॥ ७ ॥
svayambhukusumaprītāṁ r̥tuyōninivāsinīm
Pleased with the flowers offered by the self-born, she resides in the cycle of creation.
इत्यष्टकं पठेद्यस्तु ध्यानरूपां प्रसन्नधीः । शिवरात्रौ व्रतेरात्रौ वारूणी दिवसेऽपिवा ॥ ८ ॥
śavasthāṁ smēravadanāṁ paraṁ jyōti svarūpiṇīm
She is in a state of death, with a smiling face, and is the supreme light.
पौर्णमास्याममावस्यां शनिभौमदिने तथा । सततं वा पठेद्यस्तु तस्य सिद्धि पदे पदे ॥ ९ ॥
rajasvalā bhavēnnityaṁ pūjēṣṭaphaladāyinī
May she always be auspicious, bestowing the fruits of worship.
इति एकजटा कल्पलतिका शिवदीक्षायान्तर्गतं श्री मातङ्गी स्तोत्रम् ॥
madyapriyaṁ ratimayīṁ paraṁ jyōti svarūpiṇīm
She is fond of intoxicants, full of love, and is the supreme light.
Dasa Mahavidya - दशमहाविद्या
śiva viṣṇu virañcināṁ sādyāṁ buddhipradāyinīm
She is the source of wisdom for Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma, and is ever-present.
Sri Matangi Kavacham 3 – श्री मातङ्गी कवचम् – ३
asādhyaṁ sādhinīṁ nityāṁ paraṁ jyōti svarūpiṇīm
She is the achiever of the unattainable, eternal, and the supreme light.
Sri Matangi Stotram 4 (Devi Shatkam) – श्री मातङ्गी स्तोत्रम् (देवी षट्कम्)
rātrau pūjā baliyutāṁ gōmāṁsa rudhirapriyām
In the night, worship should be offered with meat and blood, which she delights in.
