Sri Shankara Ashtakam
This stotram consists of eight verses that extol the virtues and attributes of Lord Shiva, invoking his blessings for knowledge and liberation.
शीर्षजटागणभारं गरलाहारं समस्तसंहारम् । कैलासाद्रिविहारं पारं भववारिधेरहं वन्दे ॥ १ ॥
śīrṣajaṭāgaṇabhāraṁ garalāhāraṁ samastasaṁhāram
I bow to the one who bears the weight of matted hair, who consumes poison and is the destroyer of all,
चन्द्रकलोज्ज्वलफालं कण्ठव्यालं जगत्त्रयीपालम् । कृतनरमस्तकमालं कालं कालस्य कोमलं वन्दे ॥ २ ॥
kailāsādrivihāraṁ pāraṁ bhavavāridhērahaṁ vandē
who resides on Mount Kailash and is the ferry across the ocean of existence.
कोपेक्षणहतकामं स्वात्मारामं नगेन्द्रजावामम् । संसृतिशोकविरामं श्यामं कण्ठेन कारणं वन्दे ॥ ३ ॥
candrakalōjjvalaphālaṁ kaṇṭhavyālaṁ jagattrayīpālam
I bow to the one whose face shines like the moon, who has a throat like a serpent, and is the protector of the three worlds,
कटितटविलसितनागं खण्डितयागं महाद्भुतत्यागम् । विगतविषयरसरागं भागं यज्ञेषु बिभ्रतं वन्दे ॥ ४ ॥
kr̥tanaramastakamālaṁ kālaṁ kālasya kōmalaṁ vandē
who wears a garland of human skulls and is the gentle aspect of time itself.
त्रिपुरादिकदनुजान्तं गिरिजाकान्तं सदैव संशान्तम् । लीलाविजितकृतान्तं भान्तं स्वांतेषु देवानां वन्दे ॥ ५ ॥
kōpēkṣaṇahatakāmaṁ svātmārāmaṁ nagēndrajāvāmam
I bow to the one who is free from anger, who delights in the self, and is the lord of the mountains,
सुरसरिदाप्लुतकेशं त्रिदशकुलेशं हृदालयावेशम् । विगताशेषक्लेशं देशं सर्वेष्टसम्पदां वन्दे ॥ ६ ॥
saṁsr̥tiśōkavirāmaṁ śyāmaṁ kaṇṭhēna kāraṇaṁ vandē
who brings an end to the sorrows of existence and is the dark one, the cause of all.
करतलकलितपिनाकं विगतजलाकं सुकर्मणां पाकम् । परपदवीतवराकं नाकङ्गमपूगवन्दितं वन्दे ॥ ७ ॥
kaṭitaṭavilasitanāgaṁ khaṇḍitayāgaṁ mahādbhutatyāgam
I bow to the one who has a serpent coiled around his neck, who is adorned with wondrous ornaments,
भूतविभूषितकायं दुस्तरमायं विवर्जितापायम् । प्रमथसमूहसहायं सायं प्रातर्निरन्तरं वन्दे ॥ ८ ॥
vigataviṣayarasarāgaṁ bhāgaṁ yajñēṣu bibhrataṁ vandē
who is free from the poison of desire and is the essence of all sacrifices.
यस्तु पदाष्टकमेतद्ब्रह्मानन्देन निर्मितं नित्यम् । पठति समाहितचेताः प्राप्नोत्यन्ते स शैवमेव पदम् ॥ ९ ॥
tripurādikadanujāntaṁ girijākāntaṁ sadaiva saṁśāntam
I bow to the one who is the origin of Tripura and the beloved of Girija, who is always peaceful,
इति श्रीमत्परमहंस स्वामिब्रह्मानन्दविरचितं श्रीशंकराष्टकम् । Agastya Ashtakam – अगस्त्याष्टकम्
līlāvijitakr̥tāntaṁ bhāntaṁ svāṁtēṣu dēvānāṁ vandē
who is victorious in divine play and shines in the hearts of the gods.
Sri Siddha Lakshmi Stotram – श्री सिद्धलक्ष्मी स्तोत्रम्
surasaridāplutakēśaṁ tridaśakulēśaṁ hr̥dālayāvēśam
I bow to the one whose hair is drenched by the celestial river, who is the lord of the heavenly beings,
