Sri Skanda Shatkam
This stotra consists of six verses praising the attributes and divine qualities of Lord Murugan.
श्री सुब्रह्मण्य स्तोत्राणि
ṣaṇmukhaṁ pārvatīputraṁ krauñcaśailavimardanam
I bow to Skanda, the son of Shiva, the one who is the destroyer of the demon Tarakasura, who resides on the peacock throne.
षण्मुखं पार्वतीपुत्रं क्रौञ्चशैलविमर्दनम् ।
dēvasēnāpatiṁ dēvaṁ skandaṁ vandē śivātmajam
I bow to Skanda, the lord of the divine army, the deity with the power in his hands, the son of Shiva.
देवसेनापतिं देवं स्कन्दं वन्दे शिवात्मजम् ॥ १ ॥
tārakāsurahantāraṁ mayūrāsanasaṁsthitam
I bow to Skanda, the beloved of the universe, born from the body of the supreme god, who grants desires and is charming.
तारकासुरहन्तारं मयूरासनसंस्थितम् ।
śaktipāṇiṁ ca dēvēśaṁ skandaṁ vandē śivātmajam
I bow to Skanda, the youthful one, the tiger among sages, the one who brings joy to the minds of devotees.
शक्तिपाणिं च देवेशं स्कन्दं वन्दे शिवात्मजम् ॥ २ ॥
viśvēśvarapriyaṁ dēvaṁ viśvēśvaratanūdbhavam
I bow to Skanda, the beloved of Valli, the source of the universe, the son of Shiva.
विश्वेश्वरप्रियं देवं विश्वेश्वरतनूद्भवम् ।
kāmukaṁ kāmadaṁ kāntaṁ skandaṁ vandē śivātmajam
I bow to Skanda, the creator of dissolution and stability, the original creator, the lord.
कामुकं कामदं कान्तं स्कन्दं वन्दे शिवात्मजम् ॥ ३ ॥
kumāraṁ muniśārdūlamānasānandagōcaram
I bow to Skanda, who is dear to devotees, who is intoxicated with divine love, the son of Shiva.
कुमारं मुनिशार्दूलमानसानन्दगोचरम् ।
vallīkāntaṁ jagadyōniṁ skandaṁ vandē śivātmajam
I bow to Skanda, the one who is the master of all beings, the son of the Krittika stars, always strong and with matted hair.
वल्लीकान्तं जगद्योनिं स्कन्दं वन्दे शिवात्मजम् ॥ ४ ॥
pralayasthitikartāraṁ ādikartāramīśvaram
Whoever reads or hears this Skanda Shatkam will quickly attain their desires and reach Skandapura in the end.
प्रलयस्थितिकर्तारं आदिकर्तारमीश्वरम् ।
bhaktapriyaṁ madōnmattaṁ skandaṁ vandē śivātmajam
Thus ends the Skanda Shatkam.
भक्तप्रियं मदोन्मत्तं स्कन्दं वन्दे शिवात्मजम् ॥ ५ ॥
viśākhaṁ sarvabhūtānāṁ svāminaṁ kr̥ttikāsutam

विशाखं सर्वभूतानां स्वामिनं कृत्तिकासुतम् ।
sadābalaṁ jaṭādhāraṁ skandaṁ vandē śivātmajam
—
सदाबलं जटाधारं स्कन्दं वन्दे शिवात्मजम् ॥ ६ ॥
skandaṣaṭkaṁ stōtramidaṁ yaḥ paṭhēcchr̥ṇuyānnaraḥ
—
स्कन्दषट्कं स्तोत्रमिदं यः पठेच्छृणुयान्नरः ।
vāñchitān labhatē sadyaścāntē skandapuraṁ vrajēt
—
वाञ्छितान् लभते सद्यश्चान्ते स्कन्दपुरं व्रजेत् ॥ ७ ॥
