Sri Skanda Stavam
This stotra is a heartfelt prayer to Lord Murugan, expressing devotion and seeking his divine assistance.
श्री सुब्रह्मण्य स्तोत्राणि
vāmadēva uvāca
Oṁ, salutations to the essence of the sacred syllable, the one who bestows the meaning of the sacred syllable.
वामदेव उवाच ।
ōṁ namaḥ praṇavārthāya praṇavārthavidhāyinē
Salutations to the seed of the sacred syllable, to the sacred syllable itself, salutations and more salutations.
ओं नमः प्रणवार्थाय प्रणवार्थविधायिने । प्रणवाक्षरबीजाय प्रणवाय नमो नमः ॥ १ ॥
praṇavākṣarabījāya praṇavāya namō namaḥ
To the embodiment of the essence of Vedanta, the one who reveals the meaning of Vedanta,
वेदान्तार्थस्वरूपाय वेदान्तार्थविधायिने । वेदान्तार्थविदे नित्यं विदिताय नमो नमः ॥ २ ॥
vēdāntārthasvarūpāya vēdāntārthavidhāyinē
To the one who is eternally known in the essence of Vedanta, salutations and more salutations.
नमो गुहाय भूतानां गुहासु निहिताय च । गुह्याय गुह्यरूपाय गुह्यागमविदे नमः ॥ ३ ॥
vēdāntārthavidē nityaṁ viditāya namō namaḥ
Salutations to the one who resides in the caves of all beings, to the hidden one in the caves.
अणोरणीयसे तुभ्यं महतोऽपि महीयसे । नमः परावरज्ञाय परमात्मस्वरूपिणे ॥ ४ ॥
namō guhāya bhūtānāṁ guhāsu nihitāya ca
Salutations to the one who is mysterious, to the one who embodies mystery, to the one who reveals the secret scriptures.
स्कन्दाय स्कन्दरूपाय मिहिरारुणतेजसे । नमो मन्दारमालोद्यन्मुकुटादिभृते सदा ॥ ५ ॥
guhyāya guhyarūpāya guhyāgamavidē namaḥ
To you, who are smaller than the smallest and greater than the greatest,
शिवशिष्याय पुत्राय शिवस्य शिवदायिने । शिवप्रियाय शिवयोरानन्दनिधये नम ॥ ६ ॥
aṇōraṇīyasē tubhyaṁ mahatō:'pi mahīyasē
Salutations to the one who knows the supreme knowledge, to the one who embodies the supreme soul.
गाङ्गेयाय नमस्तुभ्यं कार्तिकेयाय धीमते । उमापुत्राय महते शरकाननशायिने ॥ ७ ॥
namaḥ parāvarajñāya paramātmasvarūpiṇē
To Skanda, who embodies the form of Skanda, to the one with the radiant brilliance of the sun.
षडक्षरशरीराय षड्विधार्थविधायिने । षडध्वातीतरूपाय षण्मुखाय नमो नमः ॥ ८ ॥
skandāya skandarūpāya mihirāruṇatējasē
Salutations to the one who is always adorned with the garland of Mandara and the crown,
द्वादशायतनेत्राय द्वादशोद्यतबाहवे । द्वादशायुधधाराय द्वादशात्मन्नमोऽस्तु ते ॥ ९ ॥
namō mandāramālōdyanmukuṭādibhr̥tē sadā
To the son of Shiva, the disciple of Shiva, the one who bestows auspiciousness.
चतुर्भुजाय शान्ताय शक्तिकुक्कुटधारिणे । वरदाय विहस्ताय नमोऽसुरविदारिणे ॥ १० ॥
śivaśiṣyāya putrāya śivasya śivadāyinē
Salutations to the beloved of Shiva, to the treasure of joy of Shiva.
गजावल्लीकुचालिप्तकुङ्कुमाङ्कितवक्षसे । नमो गजाननानन्दमहिमानन्दितात्मने ॥ ११ ॥
śivapriyāya śivayōrānandanidhayē nama
Salutations to you, O Ganges, to Kartikeya, the wise one,
ब्रह्मादिदेवमुनिकिन्नरगीयमान-
gāṅgēyāya namastubhyaṁ kārtikēyāya dhīmatē
To the great one, the son of Uma, who sleeps in the forest of arrows.
-गाथाविशेषशुचिचिन्तितकीर्तिधाम्ने ।
umāputrāya mahatē śarakānanaśāyinē
Salutations to the one with a six-syllable body, the bestower of six meanings.
बृन्दारकामलकिरीटविभूषणस्र-
ṣaḍakṣaraśarīrāya ṣaḍvidhārthavidhāyinē
Salutations to the one who transcends the six paths, the six-faced one.
-क्पूज्याभिरामपदपङ्कज ते नमोऽस्तु ॥ १२ ॥
ṣaḍadhvātītarūpāya ṣaṇmukhāya namō namaḥ
Salutations to the one with twelve eyes, the one with twelve uplifted arms.
इति स्कन्दस्तवं दिव्यं वामदेवेन भाषितम् । यः पठेच्छृणुयाद्वापि स याति परमां गतिम् ॥ १३ ॥
dvādaśāyatanētrāya dvādaśōdyatabāhavē
Salutations to the one who wields twelve weapons, to you, the twelve-fold self.
महाप्रज्ञाकरं ह्येतच्छिवभक्तिविवर्धनम् । आयुरारोग्यधनकृत्सर्वकामप्रदं सदा ॥ १४ ॥
dvādaśāyudhadhārāya dvādaśātmannamō:'stu tē
Salutations to the four-armed, peaceful one, the bearer of the power of the rooster.
इति श्रीशिवमहापुराणे कैलाससंहितायां एकादशोऽध्याये वामदेवकृत स्कन्दस्तवम् । श्री सुब्रह्मण्य स्तोत्राणि
caturbhujāya śāntāya śaktikukkuṭadhāriṇē
Salutations to the one who grants boons, the one with raised hands, the destroyer of demons.
Subrahmanya - सुब्रह्मण्य
varadāya vihastāya namō:'suravidāriṇē
Salutations to the one whose chest is adorned with the kumkum of the elephant's valley.
Sri Shanmukha Shatkam – श्री षण्मुख षट्कम्
gajāvallīkucāliptakuṅkumāṅkitavakṣasē
Salutations to the blissful Gajanana, whose essence is filled with joy.
