ेतदधयशिरो राजननाखयानं तव कीरतितम
etaddhayaśiro rājannākhyānaṃ tava kīrtitam
O King, this hymn of Ashvashira, sung with reverence, shall exalt your name.
यां यामिछCहेततनुं देवः करतुं कारयविधौ कवछित
yāṃ yāmichChettanuṃ devaḥ kartuṃ kāryavidhau kvachit
Whatever form the divine desires to manifest, let it be brought forth by the will of the seer.
तां तां कुरयादविकुरवाणः सवयमातमानमातमना
tāṃ tāṃ kuryādvikurvāṇaḥ svayamātmānamātmanā
Let that which is desired be realized, as the mind aligns with the Supreme Self.
ेŚ वेदनिधिः शरीमानेŚ वै तपसो निधिः
eŚa vedanidhiḥ śrīmāneŚa vai tapaso nidhiḥ
O treasure of the Vedas, O embodiment of austerity, you are the essence of all.
ेŚ योगशछ साङखयं छ बरहम छागरयं हरिरविभुः
eŚa yogaścha sāṅkhyaṃ cha brahma chāgryaṃ harirvibhuḥ
O Lord of Yoga, O Sankhya, O Brahman, O Hari, the all-pervading.
नारायणपरा वेदा यज्ञा नारायणातमकाः
nārāyaṇaparā vedā yajñā nārāyaṇātmakāḥ
The Vedas are dedicated to Narayana, and the sacrifices are for Him alone.
तपो नारायणपरं नारायणपरा गतिः
tapo nārāyaṇaparaṃ nārāyaṇaparā gatiḥ
The path of penance leads to Narayana, the ultimate refuge of all.
नारायणपरं सतयमृ^ितं नारायणातमकम
nārāyaṇaparaṃ satyamṛ^itaṃ nārāyaṇātmakam
Narayana is the truth, the essence of immortality, the ultimate reality.
नारायणपरो धरमः पुनरावृ^िततिदुरलभः
nārāyaṇaparo dharmaḥ punarāvṛ^ittidurlabhaḥ
The dharma of Narayana is rare and returns to those who seek it.
नारायणातमको गनधो भूमौ शरेŚठतमः समृ^ितः
nārāyaṇātmako gandho bhūmau śreŚṭhatamaḥ smṛ^itaḥ
Narayana is the essence of all beings, remembered as the greatest.
पां छैव गुणो राजन रसो नारायणातमकः
apāṃ chaiva guṇo rājan raso nārāyaṇātmakaḥ
O King, the qualities of sweetness are indeed Narayana.
जयोतिŚां छ गुणो रूपं समृ^ितं नारायणातमकम
jyotiŚāṃ cha guṇo rūpaṃ smṛ^itaṃ nārāyaṇātmakam
The light of virtues shines forth, embodying Narayana.
नारायणातमकशछापि सपरशो वायुगुणः समृ^ितः
nārāyaṇātmakaśchāpi sparśo vāyuguṇaḥ smṛ^itaḥ
The essence of Narayana is also the breath of life, the qualities of the wind.
नारायणातमकशछापि शबद ाकाशसमभवः
nārāyaṇātmakaśchāpi śabda ākāśasambhavaḥ
The essence of Narayana manifests as sound, pervading the cosmos.
मनशछापि ततो भूतमवयकतगुणलकŚणम
manaśchāpi tato bhūtamavyaktaguṇalakŚaṇam
The mind, too, is a manifestation of the qualities of the elements.
नारायणपरः कालो जयोतिŚामयनं छ यत
nārāyaṇaparaḥ kālo jyotiŚāmayanaṃ cha yat
Time itself is a manifestation of Narayana, the light of all beings.
नारायणपरा कीरतिः शरीशछ लकŚमीशछ देवताः
nārāyaṇaparā kīrtiḥ śrīścha lakŚmīścha devatāḥ
The glory of Narayana is adorned with the beauty of the divine.
नारायणपरं साङखयं योगो नारायणातमकः
nārāyaṇaparaṃ sāṅkhyaṃ yogo nārāyaṇātmakaḥ
The path of Sankhya and Yoga leads to Narayana, the ultimate truth.
कारणं पुरुŚो येŚां परधानं छापि कारणम
kāraṇaṃ puruŚo yeŚāṃ pradhānaṃ chāpi kāraṇam
The cause of all beings, the Supreme, is the essence of all that exists.
सवभावशछैव करमाणि दैवं येŚां छ कारणम
svabhāvaśchaiva karmāṇi daivaṃ yeŚāṃ cha kāraṇam
Inherent nature and divine actions, these too are causes for those who dwell in the divine.
पञछकारणसङखयातो निŚठा सरवत्र वै हरिः
pañchakāraṇasaṅkhyāto niŚṭhā sarvatra vai hariḥ
From the fivefold causes arises the eternal presence of Hari everywhere.
तततवं जिज्ञासमानानां हेतुभिः सरवतोमुखैः
tattvaṃ jijñāsamānānāṃ hetubhiḥ sarvatomukhaiḥ
For those who seek the truth with earnestness, the paths are revealed through various means.
तततवमेको महायोगी हरिरनारायणः परभुः
tattvameko mahāyogī harirnārāyaṇaḥ prabhuḥ
The one who is the supreme yogi, Hari, Narayana, the Lord of all.
सबरहमकानां लोकानामृ^िŚीणां छ महातमनाम
sabrahmakānāṃ lokānāmṛ^iŚīṇāṃ cha mahātmanām
Among the realms of beings, He is the great soul, the essence of all.
साङखयानां योगिनां छापि यतीनामातमवेदिनाम
sāṅkhyānāṃ yogināṃ chāpi yatīnāmātmavedinām
Among the Sankhya yogis and the renunciates, He is the ultimate knower.
मनीŚितं विजानाति केशवो न तु तसय ते
manīŚitaṃ vijānāti keśavo na tu tasya te
Keshava knows the mind of all, yet He is not bound by their thoughts.
ये केछितसरवलोकेŚु दैवं पित्रयं छ कुरवते
ye kechitsarvalokeŚu daivaṃ pitryaṃ cha kurvate
Those who perform actions in all worlds, they do so under the guidance of the divine.
दानानि छ परयछCहनति तपयनति छ तपो महत
dānāni cha prayachChanti tapyanti cha tapo mahat
Charity and penance, they are the great offerings to the divine.
सरवेŚामाशरयो विŚणुरैशवरं विधिमासथितः
sarveŚāmāśrayo viŚṇuraiśvaraṃ vidhimāsthitaḥ
In all shelters, Vishnu is the one who establishes the divine order.
सरवभूतकृ^ितावासो वासुदेवेति छोछयते
sarvabhūtakṛ^itāvāso vāsudeveti chochyate
He who resides in all beings is known as Vasudeva, the essence of all.
यं हि नितयः परमो महरŚिरमहाविभूतिरगुणवाननिरगुणाखयः
ayaṃ hi nityaḥ paramo maharŚirmahāvibhūtirguṇavānnirguṇākhyaḥ
He is indeed the eternal, supreme, the great soul, the embodiment of all virtues and beyond them.
गुणैशछ संयोगमुपैति शीघरं कालो यथरतावृ^ितुसमपरयुकतः
guṇaiścha saṃyogamupaiti śīghraṃ kālo yathartāvṛ^itusamprayuktaḥ
Time swiftly approaches, uniting with qualities, just as seasons change in their cycles.
नैवासय विनदनति गतिं महातमनो न छागतिं कशछिदिहानुपशयति
naivāsya vindanti gatiṃ mahātmano na chāgatiṃ kaśchidihānupaśyati
He does not forsake the path of the great souls, nor does He abandon any soul in need.
ज्ञानातमकाः संयमिनो महरŚयः पशयनति नितयं पुरुŚं गुणाधिकम
jñānātmakāḥ saṃyamino maharŚayaḥ paśyanti nityaṃ puruŚaṃ guṇādhikam
The sages, who are self-controlled and wise, continually perceive the supreme being.
