हे महागौरी, आप इस समस्त जगत की माया हैं, अर्थात् आप ही इस सृष्टि का आधार और इसकी रचियता हैं। आपकी जय हो, हे उमा भवानी, हे महामाया, आप ही परम शक्ति हैं जो सब कुछ नियंत्रित करती हैं। O Mahagauri, you are the divine illusion (Maya) of this entire universe, meaning you are the foundation and creator of this cosmos. Hail to you, O Uma Bhavani, O Mahamaya, you are the supreme power who controls everything.

हे महागौरी, हरिद्वार और कनखल के पावन स्थानों पर आपका विशेष निवास है। यह दर्शाता है कि आप इन तीर्थों में भक्तों को अपनी दिव्य उपस्थिति का अनुभव कराती हैं। O Mahagauri, your special abode is in the sacred places of Haridwar and Kankhal. This signifies that you make your divine presence felt to devotees in these holy pilgrimage sites.

आप चंद्रकली के समान शीतल और ममतामयी अम्बे हैं, जो अपने भक्तों पर असीम कृपा बरसाती हैं। हे शक्ति स्वरूपा, हे माँ जगदम्बे, आपकी सदा जय हो, आप ही संपूर्ण जगत की माता हैं। You are like the cool crescent moon (Chandrakali) and a compassionate mother (Ambe), showering immense grace upon your devotees. O embodiment of power (Shakti), O Mother Jagadambe, may you always be victorious, for you are the mother of the entire universe.

आप ही भीमा देवी हैं, जो भय का नाश करती हैं, और विमला माता के रूप में शुद्धता प्रदान करती हैं। आप ही कौशिक देवी के नाम से जग विख्यात हैं, जिनकी महिमा तीनों लोकों में गाई जाती है। You are Bhima Devi, who destroys fear, and in the form of Vimala Mata, you grant purity. You are also renowned throughout the world as Kaushik Devi, whose glory is sung in all three realms.

हे देवी, आप हिमाचल पर्वत की पुत्री के रूप में गौरी स्वरूप धारण करती हैं, जो अत्यंत शांत और सौम्य है। वहीं, आप ही महाकाली और दुर्गा के प्रचंड स्वरूप में भी प्रकट होती हैं, जो दुष्टों का संहार करती हैं। O Goddess, you assume the serene and gentle form of Gauri as the daughter of the Himalayas. At the same time, you also manifest in the fierce forms of Mahakali and Durga, who vanquish evil.

यह श्लोक देवी सती के आत्मदाह की घटना का स्मरण कराता है। जब सती ने अपने पिता दक्ष के यज्ञ में स्वयं को अग्नि को समर्पित कर दिया, तब उसी हवन कुंड के धुएँ और क्रोध से देवी काली का भयंकर रूप प्रकट हुआ। यह दर्शाता है कि कैसे एक ही शक्ति विभिन्न रूपों में प्रकट होती है। This verse recalls the incident of Devi Sati's self-immolation. When Sati immolated herself in her father Daksha's yagna, it was from the smoke and fury of that sacrificial fire that the fierce form of Devi Kali emerged. This illustrates how the same divine power manifests in various forms.

यह पंक्ति भक्ति के महत्व को दर्शाती है, जहाँ धर्म सिंह (शेर) देवी की सवारी बनकर आता है। जब भक्त भक्तिभाव से देवी की आरती करते हैं, तो भगवान शंकर भी अपना त्रिशूल उठाकर उनकी रक्षा के लिए तैयार हो जाते हैं। यह देवी और शिव के अटूट संबंध को भी दर्शाता है। This line highlights the importance of devotion, where the lion, the vehicle of Dharma, becomes the Devi's mount. When devotees perform the Aarti with devotion, Lord Shankar also raises his trident, ready to protect them. It also signifies the inseparable bond between Devi and Shiva.

इसी घटना के बाद, जब देवी ने पुनः जन्म लिया और घोर तपस्या से गौर वर्ण प्राप्त किया, तब उन्हें महागौरी नाम से जाना गया। वे अपने भक्तों की शरण में आने पर उनके सभी संकटों और दुखों को दूर करती हैं। यह उनके करुणामयी स्वभाव को दर्शाता है। It was after this incident, when the Devi was reborn and attained a fair complexion through severe penance, that she became known as Mahagauri. She removes all troubles and sorrows of those who seek refuge in her. This highlights her compassionate nature.

यह श्लोक महागौरी की पूजा के फल का वर्णन करता है। जो भक्त शनिवार के दिन श्रद्धापूर्वक उनकी पूजा करते हैं, माँ उनके बिगड़े हुए कार्यों को सुधार देती हैं और उन्हें सफलता प्रदान करती हैं। यह उनके भक्तों के प्रति आशीर्वाद और कृपा को दर्शाता है। This verse describes the fruit of worshipping Mahagauri. Devotees who worship her with faith on Saturdays find their stalled or difficult tasks rectified and brought to success by the Mother. This signifies her blessings and grace towards her devotees.

यह अंतिम श्लोक भक्तों को माँ महागौरी की जयकार करने के लिए प्रेरित करता है। यह कहता है कि हे भक्तों, तुम और क्या सोच रहे हो, बस माँ महागौरी की सदा जय-जयकार करो। यह देवी के प्रति अटूट श्रद्धा और जयघोष का आह्वान है। This final verse encourages devotees to chant victory to Mother Mahagauri. It asks, 'O devotees, what else are you thinking? Just chant victory to Mother Mahagauri forever.' This is a call for unwavering devotion and acclamation to the Goddess.
