देवयुमे जगताममब शिवलोकनिवासिनि
devyume jagatāmamba śivalokanivāsini
O Uma, the divine, who dwells in the abode of Shiva, the protector of the universe,
सदाशिवपरिये दुरगे तवां नमामो महेशवरि
sadāśivapriye durge tvāṃ namāmo maheśvari
To you, O Maheshwari, the beloved of Sadashiva, we bow down, O Durga.
शरीशकतिं पावनां शानतां पुŚटिं परमपावनीम
śrīśaktiṃ pāvanāṃ śāntāṃ puŚṭiṃ paramapāvanīm
You are the pure and sacred Shakti, the embodiment of tranquility, the supreme purifier.
वयननमामहे भकतया महदवयकतरूपिणीम
vayannamāmahe bhaktyā mahadavyaktarūpiṇīm
We bow to you, O great goddess, who takes the form of the devotion of your devotees.
शिवां शिवकरां शुदधां सथूलां सूकŚमां परायणाम
śivāṃ śivakarāṃ śuddhāṃ sthūlāṃ sūkŚmāṃ parāyaṇām
You are Shiva, the giver of auspiciousness, the pure one, both gross and subtle, the ultimate refuge.
नतरविदयासुविदयाभयां सुपरीतां तवां नमामहे
antarvidyāsuvidyābhyāṃ suprītāṃ tvāṃ namāmahe
We bow to you, who dispels fear and grants wisdom, O beloved of the auspicious.
तवं शरदधा तवं धृ^ितिसतवं शरीसतवमेव सरवगोछरा
tvaṃ śraddhā tvaṃ dhṛ^itistvaṃ śrīstvameva sarvagocharā
You are the essence of autumn, the bearer of strength, the very form of all that exists.
तवं दीधितिससूरययगता सवपरपञछपरकाशिनी
tvaṃ dīdhitissūryyagatā svaprapañchaprakāśinī
You shine with the brilliance of the sun, illuminating all realms with your divine light.
या छ बरहमाणडसंसथाने जगजजीवेŚु या जगत
yā cha brahmāṇḍasaṃsthāne jagajjīveŚu yā jagat
You are the one who sustains the universe, the life force of all beings, O supreme goddess.
ापयाययति बरहमादितृ^िणानतं तां नमामहे
āpyāyayati brahmāditṛ^iṇāntaṃ tāṃ namāmahe
We bow to you, who nourishes the cosmos and is the source of all creation.
गायत्री तवं वेदमाता तवं सावित्री सरसवती
gāyatrī tvaṃ vedamātā tvaṃ sāvitrī sarasvatī
You are Gayatri, the mother of the Vedas, the embodiment of Savitri and Saraswati.
तवं वारता सरवजगतां तवं त्रयी धरमरूपिणी
tvaṃ vārtā sarvajagatāṃ tvaṃ trayī dharmarūpiṇī
You are the essence of all worlds, the embodiment of the three Vedas, O divine form of Dharma.
निदरा तवं सरवभूतेŚु कŚुधा तृ^िपतिसतवमेव हि
nidrā tvaṃ sarvabhūteŚu kŚudhā tṛ^iptistvameva hi
You are the sleep of all beings, the satisfaction of hunger, the essence of all desires.
तृ^िŚणा कानतिशCहविसतुŚटिससरवाननदकरी सदा
tṛ^iŚṇā kāntiśChavistuŚṭissarvānandakarī sadā
You are the eternal giver of joy, the fulfillment of all wishes, O goddess of abundance.
तवं लकŚमीः पुणयकरतृ^ीणां तवं जयेŚठा पापिनां सदा
tvaṃ lakŚmīḥ puṇyakartṛ^īṇāṃ tvaṃ jyeŚṭhā pāpināṃ sadā
You are Lakshmi, the bestower of virtue, and the victory of the righteous over the sinful.
तवं शानतिः सरवजगतां तवं धात्री पराणपोŚिणी
tvaṃ śāntiḥ sarvajagatāṃ tvaṃ dhātrī prāṇapoŚiṇī
You are peace for the entire universe, the nurturing mother of all living beings.
तवमनतःसवरूपा भूतानां पञछानामपि सारकृ^ित
tvamantaḥsvarūpā bhūtānāṃ pañchānāmapi sārakṛ^it
Your form is the essence of all beings, the quintessence of the five elements.
तवं हि नीतिभृ^ितां नीतिरवयवसायसवरूपिणी
tvaṃ hi nītibhṛ^itāṃ nītirvyavasāyasvarūpiṇī
You are the embodiment of righteousness, the essence of moral conduct and virtue.
गीतिसतवं सामवेदसय गरनथिसतवं यजुŚां हुतिः
gītistvaṃ sāmavedasya granthistvaṃ yajuŚāṃ hutiḥ
You are the essence of the Samaveda, the melody of the hymns, the fire of the Yajurveda.
ृ^िगवेदसय तथा मात्राथरवणसय परा गतिः
ṛ^igvedasya tathā mātrātharvaṇasya parā gatiḥ
You are the essence of the Rigveda, the ultimate path of the Atharvaveda.
समसतगीरवाणगणसय शकतिसतमोमयी धातृ^िगुणैकदृ^िशया
samastagīrvāṇagaṇasya śaktistamomayī dhātṛ^iguṇaikadṛ^iśyā
With the divine voice of the celestial beings, she is the embodiment of the supreme Shakti, the essence of all that is dark and light, the one who grants vision to the seekers.
रजः परपञछाततु भवैकरूपा या न शरुता भवयकरी सतुतेह
rajaḥ prapañchāttu bhavaikarūpā yā na śrutā bhavyakarī stuteha
In the form of the cosmic dance, she transcends the five elements, unyielding and ever-present, she is the source of all auspiciousness, the one who brings forth the fruits of devotion.
संसारसागरकरालभवाङगदुःखनिसतारकारितरणिशछ निवीतहीना
saṃsārasāgarakarālabhavāṅgaduḥkhanistārakāritaraṇiścha nivītahīnā
In the terrifying ocean of worldly existence, she is the refuge from suffering, guiding the lost souls across the turbulent waves of despair.
ŚटाङगयोगपरिपालनकेलिदकŚां विनधयागवासनिरतां परणमाम तां वै
aŚṭāṅgayogaparipālanakelidakŚāṃ vindhyāgavāsaniratāṃ praṇamāma tāṃ vai
In the practice of the sacred eightfold path, I bow to her, who is ever engaged in the divine play, the one who grants liberation to those who surrender.
नासाकŚिवकत्रभुजवकŚसि मानसे छ धृ^ितया सुखानि वितनोŚि सदैव जनतोः
nāsākŚivaktrabhujavakŚasi mānase cha dhṛ^ityā sukhāni vitanoŚi sadaiva jantoḥ
With the strength of her divine arms, she bestows happiness upon the devoted minds, ever generous in her blessings to all who seek her.
निदरेति याति सुभगा जगती भवा नः सा नः परसीदतु भवसथितिपालनाय
nidreti yāti subhagā jagatī bhavā naḥ sā naḥ prasīdatu bhavasthitipālanāya
May she, who is the embodiment of auspiciousness, grant us peace and protection, nurturing our existence with her divine grace.
