Thus spoke the Lord.
वाराणसयां महादेवं परयागे छ महेशवरम
vārāṇasyāṃ mahādevaṃ prayāge cha maheśvaram
In Varanasi, the great Mahadeva, in Prayag, the supreme Maheshvara.
नैमिŚे देवदेवं छ गयायां परपितामहम
naimiŚe devadevaṃ cha gayāyāṃ prapitāmaham
In Naimisharanya, the God of gods, in Gaya, the revered ancestor.
कुरुकŚेत्रे विदुः सथाणुं परभासे शशिशेखरम
kurukŚetre viduḥ sthāṇuṃ prabhāse śaśiśekharam
In Kurukshetra, the steadfast Sthanu, in Prabhasa, the moon-crested.
पुŚकरे तु हयजागनधिं विशवं विशवेशवरे तथा
puŚkare tu hyajāgandhiṃ viśvaṃ viśveśvare tathā
In Pushkara, the lord of the horse, the universal Vishva, the lord of all.
टटहासे महानादं महेनदरे छ महावरतं (10)
aṭṭahāse mahānādaṃ mahendre cha mahāvrataṃ (10)
In Tathahasa, the great sound, in Mahenad, the supreme vow.
ुजजयिनयां महाकालं मरुकोटे महोतकटम
ujjayinyāṃ mahākālaṃ marukoṭe mahotkaṭam
In Ujjain, the great Kalabhairava, in Marukote, the mighty.
शङकुकरणे महातेजं गोकरणे छ महाबलम
śaṅkukarṇe mahātejaṃ gokarṇe cha mahābalam
In Shankukarna, the great radiance, in Gokarna, the supreme strength.
रुदरकोटयां महायोगं महालिङगं सथलेशवरे
rudrakoṭyāṃ mahāyogaṃ mahāliṅgaṃ sthaleśvare
In Rudrakoti, the great yoga, in Mahalinga, the lord of the place.
हरŚिते छ तथा हरŚं वृ^िŚभं वृ^िŚभधवजे
harŚite cha tathā harŚaṃ vṛ^iŚabhaṃ vṛ^iŚabhadhvaje
In Harshite, the joy of Shiva, in Harsha, the one who brings prosperity.
केदारे छैव ीशानं शरवं मधयमकेशवरे (20)
kedāre chaiva īśānaṃ śarvaṃ madhyamakeśvare (20)
In Kedara, the lord of Ishana, in Sharava, the middle-haired.
सुपरणाकŚं सहसराकŚे सुसूकŚमं कारतिकेशवरे
suparṇākŚaṃ sahasrākŚe susūkŚmaṃ kārtikeśvare
In Suparnaksha, the thousand-eyed, in Susuksha, the fine one, the lord of Kartikeya.
भवं वसत्रापथे देवि हयुगरं कनखले तथा
bhavaṃ vastrāpathe devi hyugraṃ kanakhale tathā
In Bhava, the one who dwells in the path, in Hayugara, the one with the golden neck.
भदरकरणे शिवं छैव दणडके दणडिनं तथा
bhadrakarṇe śivaṃ chaiva daṇḍake daṇḍinaṃ tathā
In Bhadrakarana, the auspicious Shiva, in Dandaka, the one who wields the staff.
ूरधवरेतं त्रिदणडायां छणडीशं कृ^िमिजाङगले
ūrdhvaretaṃ tridaṇḍāyāṃ chaṇḍīśaṃ kṛ^imijāṅgale
In Rudhavarita, the three-staffed, in Chandisha, the one who is born of art.
कृ^िततिवासं तथैकामरे Cहागलेये कपरदिनं (30)
kṛ^ittivāsaṃ tathaikāmre Chāgaleye kapardinaṃ (30)
In Kritatvasa, the one who resides in the one, in Chagale, the one with the cap.
कालिञजरे नीलकणठं शरीकणठं मणडलेशवरे
kāliñjare nīlakaṇṭhaṃ śrīkaṇṭhaṃ maṇḍaleśvare
In Kalinjara, the blue-throated, in Sharikanta, the jewel of the place.
विजयं छैव काशमीरे जयनतं मरुकेशवरे
vijayaṃ chaiva kāśmīre jayantaṃ marukeśvare
In Vijaya, the victorious, in Kashmira, the one who brings victory.
हरिशछनदरे हरं छैव पुरशछनदरे छ शङकरम
hariśchandre haraṃ chaiva puraśchandre cha śaṅkaram
In Harishchandara, the lord of Hari, in Purashchandara, the one who is Shankara.
जटिं वामेशवरे विनदयातसौमयं वै कुककुटेशवरे
jaṭiṃ vāmeśvare vindyātsaumyaṃ vai kukkuṭeśvare
In Jatin, the lord of Vameshvara, with humility, the gentle one, in Kukkuṭeshvara.
भूतेशवरं भसमगात्रे ोंकारे.मरकणटकं (40)
bhūteśvaraṃ bhasmagātre oṁkāre.amarakaṇṭakaṃ (40)
O Lord of Beings, adorned in ashes, the sacred Om, the essence of all, the one who resides in the heart of the universe.
दीपतमरकेशवरे ज्ञेयं नेपाले पशुपालकम
dīptamarkeśvare jñeyaṃ nepāle paśupālakam
In the brilliance of the divine light, know Him as the protector of all creatures, the revered Keshava.
यमलिङगं छ दुŚकरणे कपाली करवीरके
yamaliṅgaṃ cha duŚkarṇe kapālī karavīrake
The Yamalinga, the one who conquers ignorance, the Kapali, the bearer of the sacred staff.
जागेशवरे त्रिशूली छ शरीशैले त्रिपुरानतकम
jāgeśvare triśūlī cha śrīśaile tripurāntakam
In the realm of the waking Lord, the one with the trident, at the sacred mountain, the conqueror of Tripura.
कारोहणे नकुलीशं देविकायामुमापतिम
kārohaṇe nakulīśaṃ devikāyāmumāpatim
In the act of creation, He is Nakulisha, the Lord of the Divine Mother, Uma's consort.
भैरवे भैरवाकारममरं पूरवसागरे
bhairave bhairavākāramamaraṃ pūrvasāgare
In the form of Bhairava, the fierce protector, He resides in the ocean of the eternal.
सपतगोदावरे भीमं सवयमभूरनिरमलेशवरे
saptagodāvare bhīmaṃ svayambhūrnirmaleśvare
In the sacred Ganges, He is the mighty Bhima, the one who is pure and self-existent.
करणिकारे गणाधयकŚं कैलासे तु गणाधिपम
karṇikāre gaṇādhyakŚaṃ kailāse tu gaṇādhipam
In the realm of action, He is the leader of the celestial hosts, the Lord of Kailasa.
गङगादवारे हिमसथानं जल लिङगे जलपरियम(60)
gaṅgādvāre himasthānaṃ jala liṅge jalapriyam(60)
At the gateway of the Ganges, in the abode of snow, He is the water-lingam, the beloved of the waters.
नलं वाडवे.गनौ छ भीमं बदरिकाशरमे
analaṃ vāḍave.agnau cha bhīmaṃ badarikāśrame
In the sacred land of Badarikashrama, He is the mighty Bhima, the one who protects.
हेमकूटे विरूपाकŚं भूरभुवं गनधमादने
hemakūṭe virūpākŚaṃ bhūrbhuvaṃ gandhamādane
In the golden peaks, He is the formless one, the vast and powerful, the Lord of the fragrant.
लिङगेशवरे छ वरदं लङकायां छ नरानतकं (68)
liṅgeśvare cha varadaṃ laṅkāyāṃ cha narāntakaṃ (68)
In the sacred linga, He is the granter of boons, in Lanka, He is the Lord of men.
ŚटŚŚटिरियं देवि तवाखयाता विशेŚतः
aŚṭaŚaŚṭiriyaṃ devi tavākhyātā viśeŚataḥ
O Devi, this sacred hymn is your name, known in all realms.
पठतां शृ^िणवतां वापि सरवपातकनाशिनी
paṭhatāṃ śṛ^iṇvatāṃ vāpi sarvapātakanāśinī
For those who read or listen, it destroys all sins and misdeeds.
तसमातसरवपरयतनेन कीरतनीया विछकŚणैः
tasmātsarvaprayatnena kīrtanīyā vichakŚaṇaiḥ
Therefore, with utmost devotion, it should be sung and chanted with care.
कालत्रये.पि शुछिभिरविशेŚाछCहिवदीकŚितैः
kālatraye.api śuchibhirviśeŚāchChivadīkŚitaiḥ
In the three times, with pure intentions, it is a divine blessing.
लिखितापि वरारोहे यसयैŚा तिŚठते गृ^िहे
likhitāpi varārohe yasyaiŚā tiŚṭhate gṛ^ihe
Even if written, O auspicious one, it remains in the hearts of the devotees.
न तत्र जायते दोŚो भूतपरेतसमुदभवः
na tatra jāyate doŚo bhūtapretasamudbhavaḥ
There, no faults arise, nor do spirits or ghosts take form.
न वयाधेरन छ सरपाणां न छौराणां वरानने
na vyādherna cha sarpāṇāṃ na chaurāṇāṃ varānane
Neither disease nor the venom of serpents can touch the pure.
नानयेŚां भूभुजादीनां कदाछिदपि कुत्रछित
nānyeŚāṃ bhūbhujādīnāṃ kadāchidapi kutrachit
No fear from thieves or any worldly rulers ever exists there.
िति शरीसकनदपुराणे नागरखणडे नवाधिकशततमाधयायानतरगतं ीशवरपरोकतं ŚटŚŚटिनामशिवसतोत्रं समापतम
iti śrīskandapurāṇe nāgarakhaṇḍe navādhikaśatatamādhyāyāntargataṃ īśvaraproktaṃ aŚṭaŚaŚṭināmaśivastotraṃ samāptam
