dēvyuvāca
The goddess spoke:
देव्युवाच ।
kathitāśchinnamastāyā yā yā vidyāḥ sugōpitāḥ
Whatever knowledge is spoken of regarding Chinnamasta,
कथिताश्छिन्नमस्ताया या या विद्याः सुगोपिताः । त्वया नाथेन जीवेश श्रुताश्चाधिगता मया ॥ १ ॥
tvayā nāthēna jīvēśa śrutāścādhigatā mayā
which has been well concealed by you, O Lord of Life,
इदानीं श्रोतुमिच्छामि कवचं पूर्वसूचितम् । त्रैलोक्यविजयं नाम कृपया कथ्यतां प्रभो ॥ २ ॥
idānīṁ śrōtumicchāmi kavacaṁ pūrvasūcitam
I have heard and attained through listening.
भैरव उवाच । शृणु वक्ष्यामि देवेशि सर्वदेवनमस्कृते ।
trailōkyavijayaṁ nāma kr̥payā kathyatāṁ prabhō
Now, I wish to hear the previously mentioned armor,
त्रैलोक्यविजयं नाम कवचं सर्वमोहनम् ॥ ३ ॥
bhairava uvāca
named "Victory of the Three Worlds," please narrate it, O Lord.
सर्वविद्यामयं साक्षात्सुरात्सुरजयप्रदम् ।
śr̥ṇu vakṣyāmi dēvēśi sarvadēvanamaskr̥tē
Bhairava replied:
धारणात्पठनादीशस्त्रैलोक्यविजयी विभुः ॥ ४ ॥
trailōkyavijayaṁ nāma kavacaṁ sarvamōhanam
Listen, O Goddess, I shall speak,
ब्रह्मा नारायणो रुद्रो धारणात्पठनाद्यतः ।
sarvavidyāmayaṁ sākṣātsurātsurajayapradam
the armor named "Victory of the Three Worlds,"
कर्ता पाता च संहर्ता भुवनानां सुरेश्वरि ॥ ५ ॥
dhāraṇātpaṭhanādīśastrailōkyavijayī vibhuḥ
which enchants all and is worshipped by all deities.
न देयं परशिष्येभ्योऽभक्तेभ्योऽपि विशेषतः ।
brahmā nārāyaṇō rudrō dhāraṇātpaṭhanādyataḥ
It is filled with all knowledge and directly grants victory over the gods.
देयं शिष्याय भक्ताय प्राणेभ्योऽप्यधिकाय च ॥ ६ ॥
kartā pātā ca saṁhartā bhuvanānāṁ surēśvari
By its recitation and meditation, the victorious one of the three worlds is indeed powerful.
देव्याश्च च्छिन्नमस्तायाः कवचस्य च भैरवः ।
na dēyaṁ paraśiṣyēbhyō:'bhaktēbhyō:'pi viśēṣataḥ
Brahma, Narayana, and Rudra, through recitation and meditation,
ऋषिस्तु स्याद्विराट् छन्दो देवता च्छिन्नमस्तका ॥ ७ ॥
dēyaṁ śiṣyāya bhaktāya prāṇēbhyō:'pyadhikāya ca
are the creators, protectors, and destroyers of the worlds, O Goddess of the Devas.
त्रैलोक्यविजये मुक्तौ विनियोगः प्रकीर्तितः ।
dēvyāśca cchinnamastāyāḥ kavacasya ca bhairavaḥ
It should not be given to others or to disciples,
हुङ्कारो मे शिरः पातु छिन्नमस्ता बलप्रदा ॥ ८ ॥
r̥ṣistu syādvirāṭ chandō dēvatā cchinnamastakā
especially to devotees,
ह्रां ह्रूं ऐं त्र्यक्षरी पातु भालं वक्त्रं दिगम्बरा ।
trailōkyavijayē muktau viniyōgaḥ prakīrtitaḥ
but it should be given to a devoted disciple,
श्रीं ह्रीं ह्रूं ऐं दृशौ पातु मुण्डं कर्त्रिधरापि सा ॥ ९ ॥
huṅkārō mē śiraḥ pātu chinnamastā balapradā
who is more than life itself,
सा विद्या प्रणवाद्यन्ता श्रुतियुग्मं सदाऽवतु ।
hrāṁ hrūṁ aiṁ tryakṣarī pātu bhālaṁ vaktraṁ digambarā
and to the goddess Chinnamasta and the armor, O Bhairava.
वज्रवैरोचनीये हुं फट् स्वाहा च ध्रुवादिका ॥ १० ॥
śrīṁ hrīṁ hrūṁ aiṁ dr̥śau pātu muṇḍaṁ kartridharāpi sā
The sage should be the great being, the hymn is the deity, Chinnamasta.
घ्राणं पातु च्छिन्नमस्ता मुण्डकर्त्रिविधारिणी ।
sā vidyā praṇavādyantā śrutiyugmaṁ sadā:'vatu
In the victory of the three worlds, the offering is proclaimed for liberation.
श्रीमायाकूर्चवाग्बीजैर्वज्रवैरोचनीय हूम् ॥ ११ ॥
vajravairōcanīyē huṁ phaṭ svāhā ca dhruvādikā
May my head be protected by Chinnamasta, the giver of strength.
हूं फट् स्वाहा महाविद्या षोडशी ब्रह्मरूपिणी ।
ghrāṇaṁ pātu cchinnamastā muṇḍakartrividhāriṇī
May the three syllables, hrāṁ hrūṁ aiṁ, protect my forehead, O Digambara.
स्वपार्श्वे वर्णिनी चासृग्धारां पाययती मुदा ॥ १२ ॥
śrīmāyākūrcavāgbījairvajravairōcanīya hūm
May the three syllables, śrīṁ hrīṁ hrūṁ aiṁ, protect my eyes, O holder of the skull.
वदनं सर्वदा पातु च्छिन्नमस्ता स्वशक्तिका ।
hūṁ phaṭ svāhā mahāvidyā ṣōḍaśī brahmarūpiṇī
That knowledge, which is the essence of the syllable Om, may it always protect the pair of scriptures.
मुण्डकर्त्रिधरा रक्ता साधकाभीष्टदायिनी ॥ १३ ॥
svapārśvē varṇinī cāsr̥gdhārāṁ pāyayatī mudā
In the Vajravairōcanīya, huṁ phaṭ svāhā, and the like, may it be steadfast.
वर्णिनी डाकिनीयुक्ता सापि मामभितोऽवतु ।
vadanaṁ sarvadā pātu cchinnamastā svaśaktikā
May Chinnamasta, the holder of the skull, protect my nose, the bearer of the three forms.
रामाद्या पातु जिह्वां च लज्जाद्या पातु कण्ठकम् ॥ १४ ॥
muṇḍakartridharā raktā sādhakābhīṣṭadāyinī
With the seed mantras of the great goddess, may the Vajravairōcanīya be invoked.
कूर्चाद्या हृदयं पातु वागाद्या स्तनयुग्मकम् ।
varṇinī ḍākinīyuktā sāpi māmabhitō:'vatu
Huṁ phaṭ svāhā, the great knowledge, the sixteen-fold form of Brahman.
रमया पुटिता विद्या पार्श्वौ पातु सुरेश्वरी ॥ १५ ॥
rāmādyā pātu jihvāṁ ca lajjādyā pātu kaṇṭhakam
May the goddess who is the essence of the colors, who pours forth blood, nourish me with joy.
मायया पुटिता पातु नाभिदेशे दिगम्बरा ।
kūrcādyā hr̥dayaṁ pātu vāgādyā stanayugmakam
May Chinnamasta, the embodiment of her own power, always protect my face.
कूर्चेण पुटिता देवी पृष्ठदेशे सदाऽवतु ॥ १६ ॥
ramayā puṭitā vidyā pārśvau pātu surēśvarī
The holder of the skull is red, granting the desires of the practitioners.
वाग्बीजपुटिता चैषा मध्यं पातु सशक्तिका ।
māyayā puṭitā pātu nābhidēśē digambarā
The goddess who embodies the essence of colors, may she protect me from all sides.
ईश्वरी कूर्चवाग्बीजैर्वज्रवैरोचनीय हूम् ॥ १७ ॥
kūrcēṇa puṭitā dēvī pr̥ṣṭhadēśē sadā:'vatu
May Rāma and others protect my tongue, and may Lajjā protect my throat.
हूं फट् स्वाहा महाविद्या कोटिसूर्यसमप्रभा ।
vāgbījapuṭitā caiṣā madhyaṁ pātu saśaktikā
May the goddess of speech protect my heart, and may the goddess of the two breasts protect my speech.
छिन्नमस्ता सदा पायादूरुयुग्मं सशक्तिका ॥ १८ ॥
īśvarī kūrcavāgbījairvajravairōcanīya hūm
May the goddess of knowledge, who is adorned with beauty, protect my sides.
ह्रीं ह्रूं वर्णिनी जानुं श्रीं ह्रीं च डाकिनी पदम् ।
hūṁ phaṭ svāhā mahāvidyā kōṭisūryasamaprabhā
May the goddess who is adorned with illusion protect my navel region, O Digambara.
सर्वविद्यास्थिता नित्या सर्वाङ्गं मे सदाऽवतु ॥ १९ ॥
chinnamastā sadā pāyādūruyugmaṁ saśaktikā
May the goddess, who is adorned with a crown, always protect my back.
प्राच्यां पायादेकलिङ्गा योगिनी पावकेऽवतु ।
hrīṁ hrūṁ varṇinī jānuṁ śrīṁ hrīṁ ca ḍākinī padam
May this goddess, who is the seed of speech, protect my center with her power.
डाकिनी दक्षिणे पातु श्रीमहाभैरवी च माम् ॥ २० ॥
sarvavidyāsthitā nityā sarvāṅgaṁ mē sadā:'vatu
O goddess, with the seed of speech and the power of Vajra, may the radiant Hūm protect me.
नैरृत्यां सततं पातु भैरवी पश्चिमेऽवतु ।
prācyāṁ pāyādēkaliṅgā yōginī pāvakē:'vatu
Hūm, Phat, Svāhā! The great knowledge shines like millions of suns.
इन्द्राक्षी पातु वायव्येऽसिताङ्गी पातु चोत्तरे ॥ २१ ॥
ḍākinī dakṣiṇē pātu śrīmahābhairavī ca mām
May Chinnamastā always protect my thighs with her power.
संहारिणी सदा पातु शिवकोणे सकर्त्रिका ।
nairr̥tyāṁ satataṁ pātu bhairavī paścimē:'vatu
Hriṁ, Hruṁ! The one who is described, may she protect my knees; Hriṁ, may the Dākinī protect my feet.
इत्यष्टशक्तयः पान्तु दिग्विदिक्षु सकर्त्रिकाः ॥ २२ ॥
indrākṣī pātu vāyavyē:'sitāṅgī pātu cōttarē
May the eternal goddess, who resides in all knowledge, always protect my entire body.
क्रीं क्रीं क्रीं पातु सा पूर्वं ह्रीं ह्रीं मां पातु पावके ।
saṁhāriṇī sadā pātu śivakōṇē sakartrikā
May the yoginī in the eastern direction protect me with her unique form.
ह्रूं ह्रूं मां दक्षिणे पातु दक्षिणे कालिकावतु ॥ २३ ॥
ityaṣṭaśaktayaḥ pāntu digvidikṣu sakartrikāḥ
May the Dākinī in the southern direction protect me, and may Shri Mahābhairavī protect me as well.
क्रीं क्रीं क्रीं चैव नैरृत्यां ह्रीं ह्रीं च पश्चिमेऽवतु ।
krīṁ krīṁ krīṁ pātu sā pūrvaṁ hrīṁ hrīṁ māṁ pātu pāvakē
May Bhairavī always protect me in the northern direction.
हूं हूं पातु मरुत्कोणे स्वाहा पातु सदोत्तरे ॥ २४ ॥
hrūṁ hrūṁ māṁ dakṣiṇē pātu dakṣiṇē kālikāvatu
May Indrākṣī protect me in the western direction, and may the white-limbed goddess protect me in the northern direction.
महाकाली खड्गहस्ता रक्षःकोणे सदावतु ।
krīṁ krīṁ krīṁ caiva nairr̥tyāṁ hrīṁ hrīṁ ca paścimē:'vatu
May the goddess who destroys always protect me in the corner of Shiva, with her active power.
तारो माया वधूः कूर्चं फट् कारोऽयं महामनुः ॥ २५ ॥
hūṁ hūṁ pātu marutkōṇē svāhā pātu sadōttarē
May the eight powers protect the directions, endowed with action.
खड्गकर्त्रिधरा तारा चोर्ध्वदेशं सदाऽवतु ।
mahākālī khaḍgahastā rakṣaḥkōṇē sadāvatu
May the sacred syllable "Krīm" protect me, and may "Hrīm" protect me from the fire.
ह्रीं स्त्रीं हूं फट् च पाताले मां पातु चैकजटा सती । तारा तु सहिता खेऽव्यान्महानीलसरस्वती ॥ २६ ॥
tārō māyā vadhūḥ kūrcaṁ phaṭ kārō:'yaṁ mahāmanuḥ
May "Hrūṁ" protect me in the south, and may the goddess Kālī protect me.
इति ते कथितं देव्याः कवचं मन्त्रविग्रहम् । यद्धृत्वा पठनाद्भीमः क्रोधाख्यो भैरवः स्मृतः ॥ २७ ॥
khaḍgakartridharā tārā cōrdhvadēśaṁ sadā:'vatu
May "Krīm" protect me in the southwest, and may "Hrīm" protect me in the west.
सुरासुर मुनीन्द्राणां कर्ता हर्ता भवेत्स्वयम् । यस्याज्ञया मधुमती याति सा साधकालयम् ॥ २८ ॥
hrīṁ strīṁ hūṁ phaṭ ca pātālē māṁ pātu caikajaṭā satī
May "Hūṁ" protect me in the corner of the winds; may "Svāhā" protect me in the north.
भूतिन्याद्याश्च डाकिन्यो यक्षिण्याद्याश्च खेचराः । आज्ञां गृह्णन्ति तास्तस्य कवचस्य प्रसादतः ॥ २९ ॥
tārā tu sahitā khē:'vyānmahānīlasarasvatī
May Mahākālī, who wields a sword, always protect me in the corner of the demons.
एतदेव परं ब्रह्म कवचं मन्मुखोदितम् । देवीमभ्यर्च गन्धाद्यैर्मूले नैव पठेत्सकृत् ॥ ३० ॥
iti tē kathitaṁ dēvyāḥ kavacaṁ mantravigraham
O Tārā, the illusion, the bride, I invoke you, O great being!
संवत्सरकृतायास्तु पूजायाः फलमाप्नुयात् । भूर्जे विलिखितं चैतद्गुटिकां काञ्चनस्थिताम् ॥ ३१ ॥
yaddhr̥tvā paṭhanādbhīmaḥ krōdhākhyō bhairavaḥ smr̥taḥ
May the one who wields the sword and Tārā always protect the northern region.
धारयेद्दक्षिणे बाहौ कण्ठे वा यदि वान्यतः । सर्वैश्वर्ययुतो भूत्वा त्रैलोक्यं वशमानयेत् ॥ ३२ ॥
surāsura munīndrāṇāṁ kartā hartā bhavētsvayam
May "Hrīm," "Strīm," "Hūṁ," and "Phaṭ" protect me in the netherworld, and may the solitary goddess protect me.
तस्य गेहे वसेल्लक्ष्मीर्वाणी च वदनाम्बुजे । ब्रह्मास्त्रादीनि शस्त्राणि तद्गात्रे यान्ति सौम्यताम् ॥ ३३ ॥
yasyājñayā madhumatī yāti sā sādhakālayam

इदं कवचमज्ञात्वा यो भजेच्छिन्नमस्तकाम् । सोऽपि शस्त्रप्रहारेण मृत्युमाप्नोति सत्वरम् ॥ ३४ ॥
bhūtinyādyāśca ḍākinyō yakṣiṇyādyāśca khēcarāḥ
Thus, this is the armor of the goddess, the mantra embodiment,
इति श्रीभैरवतन्त्रे भैरवभैरवीसंवादे त्रैलोक्यविजयं नाम छिन्नमस्ताकवचं सम्पूर्णम् । दशमहाविद्या स्तोत्राणि
ājñāṁ gr̥hṇanti tāstasya kavacasya prasādataḥ
By reciting which, the fearsome Bhairava, known for his wrath, is remembered.
Dasa Mahavidya - दशमहाविद्या
ētadēva paraṁ brahma kavacaṁ manmukhōditam
He who is the creator and destroyer of gods and demons, and of the great sages,
Sri Bagalamukhi Kavacham 3 (Vishwavijayam) – श्री बगलामुखी कवचम् – ३ (विश्वविजयम्)
dēvīmabhyarca gandhādyairmūlē naiva paṭhētsakr̥t
By whose command the sweet one moves, that is the time of the practitioner.
Sri Bhairavi Kavacham (Trailokyavijayam) – श्री भैरवी कवचम् (त्रैलोक्यविजयम्)
saṁvatsarakr̥tāyāstu pūjāyāḥ phalamāpnuyāt
The spirits and the Dakinis, the Yakshinis, and the sky-dwellers are all present.
