श्री पार्वत्युवाच ।
śrutaṁ pūjādikaṁ samyagbhavadvaktrābja nissr̥tam
Shri Parvati spoke
श्रुतं पूजादिकं सम्यग्भवद्वक्त्राब्ज निस्सृतम् । हृदयं छिन्नमस्तायाः श्रोतुमिच्छामि साम्प्रतम् ॥ १ ॥
hr̥dayaṁ chinnamastāyāḥ śrōtumicchāmi sāmpratam
I have heard the worship and other aspects well from your lotus-like mouth
श्री महादेव उवाच । नाद्यावधि मया प्रोक्तं कस्यापि प्राणवल्लभे ।
śrī mahādēva uvāca
I wish to hear the heart of Chinnamasta now
यत्त्वया परिपृष्टोऽहं वक्ष्ये प्रीत्यै तव प्रिये ॥ २ ॥
nādyāvadhi mayā prōktaṁ kasyāpi prāṇavallabhē
Shri Mahadeva spoke
ओं अस्य श्रीछिन्नमस्ताहृदयस्तोत्रमहामन्त्रस्य – भैरव ऋषिः – सम्राट् छन्दः -छिन्नमस्ता देवता – हूं बीजम् – ओं शक्तिः – ह्रीं कीलकं – शत्रुक्षयकरणार्थे जपे विनियोगः ॥
yattvayā paripr̥ṣṭō:'haṁ vakṣyē prītyai tava priyē
Up to the end of the river, I have not spoken
अथ करन्यासः । ओं ओं अङ्गुष्ठाभ्यां नमः ।
ōṁ asya śrīchinnamastāhr̥dayastōtramahāmantrasya – bhairava r̥ṣiḥ – samrāṭ chandaḥ -chinnamastā dēvatā – hūṁ bījam – ōṁ śaktiḥ – hrīṁ kīlakaṁ – śatrukṣayakaraṇārthē japē viniyōgaḥ
To anyone who is dear to the life force
ओं हूं तर्जनीभ्यां नमः । ओं ह्रीं मध्यमाभ्यां नमः ।
atha karanyāsaḥ
What you have asked, I will speak for your pleasure, dear one
ओं क्लीं अनामिकाभ्यां नमः । ओं ऐं कनिष्ठिकाभ्यां नमः ।
ōṁ ōṁ aṅguṣṭhābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, this is the great mantra of the heart of Shri Chinnamasta – Bhairava is the sage – Samrat is the meter – Chinnamasta is the deity – Hoom is the seed – Om is the power – Hreem is the key – For the purpose of destroying enemies, this is the application of the mantra
ओं हूं करतलकरपृष्ठाभ्यां नमः । अथ करन्यासः ।
ōṁ hūṁ tarjanībhyāṁ namaḥ
Now the hand placement
ओं ओं हृदयाय नमः । ओं हूं शिरसे स्वाहा ।
ōṁ hrīṁ madhyamābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, I bow with the thumbs
ओं ह्रीं शिखायै वषट् । ओं क्लीं नेत्रत्रयाय वौषट् ।
ōṁ klīṁ anāmikābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, I bow with the index fingers
ओं ऐं कवचाय हुम् । ओं हूं अस्त्राय फट् ।
ōṁ aiṁ kaniṣṭhikābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, I bow with the middle fingers
भूर्भुवस्सुवरोमिति दिग्बन्धः । ध्यानम् ।
ōṁ hūṁ karatalakarapr̥ṣṭhābhyāṁ namaḥ
Om, I bow with the ring fingers
रक्ताभां रक्तकेशीं करकमललसत्कर्तृकां कालकान्तिं
atha karanyāsaḥ
Om, I bow with the little fingers
विच्छिन्नात्मीयमुण्डासृगरुणबहुलां चक्रधारां पिबन्तीम् ।
ōṁ ōṁ hr̥dayāya namaḥ
Om, I bow with the palms of the hands
विघ्नाभ्रौघप्रचण्डश्वसनसमनिभां सेवितां सिद्धसङ्घैः
ōṁ hūṁ śirasē svāhā
Om, I bow to the heart.
पद्माक्षीं छिन्नमस्तां छलकरदितिजच्छेदिनीं संस्मरामि ॥ १ ॥
ōṁ hrīṁ śikhāyai vaṣaṭ
Om, I offer to the head.
वन्देऽहं छिन्नमस्तां तां छिन्नमुण्डधरां परां । छिन्नग्रीवोच्छटाच्छन्नां क्षौमवस्त्रपरिच्छदाम् ॥ २ ॥
ōṁ klīṁ nētratrayāya vauṣaṭ
Om, I invoke the flame.
सर्वदा सुरसङ्घेन सेविताङ्घ्रिसरोरुहां । सेवे सकलसम्पत्यै छिन्नमस्तां शुभप्रदाम् ॥ ३ ॥
ōṁ aiṁ kavacāya hum
Om, I call upon the three eyes.
यज्ञानां योगयज्ञाय या तु जाता युगे युगे । दानवान्तकरीं देवीं छिन्नमस्तां भजामि ताम् ॥ ४ ॥
ōṁ hūṁ astrāya phaṭ
Om, I seek protection.
वैरोचनीं वरारोहां वामदेमविवर्धितां । कोटिसूर्यप्रभां वन्दे विद्युद्वर्णाक्षिमण्डिताम् ॥ ५ ॥
bhūrbhuvassuvarōmiti digbandhaḥ
Om, I invoke the weapon.
निजकण्ठोच्छलद्रक्तधारया या मुहुर्मुहुः । योगिनी गणसंस्तुत्या तस्याश्चरणमाश्रये ॥ ६ ॥
dhyānam
With the sacred syllables, I bind the directions.
हूमित्येकाक्षरं मन्त्रं यदीयं युक्तमानसः । यो जपेत्तस्य विद्वेषी भस्मतां याति तां भजे ॥ ७ ॥
raktābhāṁ raktakēśīṁ karakamalalasatkartr̥kāṁ kālakāntiṁ vicchinnātmīyamuṇḍāsr̥garuṇabahulāṁ cakradhārāṁ pibantīm
Meditation:
हूं स्वाहेति मनुं सम्यग्यस्स्मरत्यार्तिमान्नरः । छिनत्ति छिन्नमस्ताया तस्य बाधां नमामि ताम् ॥ ८ ॥
vighnābhraughapracaṇḍaśvasanasamanibhāṁ sēvitāṁ siddhasaṅghaiḥ padmākṣīṁ chinnamastāṁ chalakaraditijacchēdinīṁ saṁsmarāmi
I remember the red-hued, red-haired one, adorned with lotus hands,
यस्याः कटाक्षमात्रेण क्रूरभूतादयो द्रुतम् । दूरे तस्य पलायन्ते छिन्नमस्तां भजामि ताम् ॥ ९ ॥
vandē:'haṁ chinnamastāṁ tāṁ chinnamuṇḍadharāṁ parāṁ
the one with a fierce, radiant form,
क्षितितलपरिरक्षाक्षान्तरोषा सुदक्षा
chinnagrīvōcchaṭācchannāṁ kṣaumavastraparicchadām
the one who drinks the essence,
छलयुतकलकक्षाच्छेदने क्षान्तिलक्ष्या ।
sarvadā surasaṅghēna sēvitāṅghrisarōruhāṁ
the one who is fierce like a thunderstorm, served by the assembly of perfected beings.
क्षितिदितिजसुपक्षा क्षोणिपाक्षय्यशिक्षा
sēvē sakalasampatyai chinnamastāṁ śubhapradām
I bow to Chinnamasta, the one with a severed head,
जयतु जयतु चाक्षा छिन्नमस्तारिभक्षा ॥ १० ॥
yajñānāṁ yōgayajñāya yā tu jātā yugē yugē
the supreme one with a severed crown,
कलिकलुषकलानां कर्तने कर्त्रिहस्ता
dānavāntakarīṁ dēvīṁ chinnamastāṁ bhajāmi tām
the one with a hidden neck, wrapped in silken garments,
सुरकुवलयकाशा मन्दभानुप्रकाशा ।
vairōcanīṁ varārōhāṁ vāmadēmavivardhitāṁ
always served by the divine assembly,
असुरकुलकलापत्रासिकाकालमूर्ति-
kōṭisūryaprabhāṁ vandē vidyudvarṇākṣimaṇḍitām
I worship Chinnamasta, the giver of all auspiciousness,
र्जयतु जयतु काली छिन्नमस्ता कराली ॥ ११ ॥
nijakaṇṭhōcchaladraktadhārayā yā muhurmuhuḥ
who arises from the sacrifices, born in every age.
भुवनभरणभूरी भ्राजमानानुभावा
yōginī gaṇasaṁstutyā tasyāścaraṇamāśrayē
I bow to the goddess Chinnamasta, the destroyer of demons.
भव भव विभवानां भारणोद्भातभूतिः ।
hūmityēkākṣaraṁ mantraṁ yadīyaṁ yuktamānasaḥ
I honor Vairochani, the one who rides the best of boons, nurtured by the left side.
द्विजकुलकमलानां भासिनी भानुमूर्ति-
yō japēttasya vidvēṣī bhasmatāṁ yāti tāṁ bhajē
I salute her, radiant like millions of suns, adorned with the brilliance of lightning.
र्भवतु भवतु वाणी छिन्नमस्ता भवानी ॥ १२ ॥
hūṁ svāhēti manuṁ samyagyassmaratyārtimānnaraḥ
She who, with her throat dripping blood, repeatedly brings forth life.
मम रिपुगणमाशु च्छेत्तुमुग्रं कृपाणं
chinatti chinnamastāyā tasya bādhāṁ namāmi tām
I take refuge at the feet of that yogini, praised by a multitude of yogis.
सपदि जननि तीक्ष्णं छिन्नमुण्डं गृहाण ।
yasyāḥ kaṭākṣamātrēṇa krūrabhūtādayō drutam
The single-syllable mantra "Hūm" is indeed the essence of the focused mind.
भवतु तव यशोऽलं छिन्धि शत्रून्कलान्मे
dūrē tasya palāyantē chinnamastāṁ bhajāmi tām
Whoever chants it, their adversaries turn to ashes; I worship her.
मम च परिदिशेष्टं छिन्नमस्ते क्षमस्व ॥ १३ ॥
kṣititalaparirakṣākṣāntarōṣā sudakṣā chalayutakalakakṣācchēdanē kṣāntilakṣyā
He who remembers "Hūṁ svāhā" properly, alleviates the sorrows of mankind.
छिन्नग्रीवा छिन्नमस्ता छिन्नमुण्डधराऽक्षता । क्षोदक्षेमकरी स्वक्षा क्षोणीशाच्छादन क्षमा ॥ १४ ॥
kṣitiditijasupakṣā kṣōṇipākṣayyaśikṣā jayatu jayatu cākṣā chinnamastāribhakṣā
I bow to Chinnamasta, who cuts through all obstacles.
वैरोचनी वरारोहा बलिदानप्रहर्षिता । बलियोजितपादाब्जा वासुदेव प्रपूजिता ॥ १५ ॥
kalikaluṣakalānāṁ kartanē kartrihastā surakuvalayakāśā mandabhānuprakāśā
With just a glance from her, fierce beings flee in haste.
इति द्वादशनामानि छिन्नमस्ता प्रियाणि यः । स्मरेत्प्रातस्समुत्थाय तस्य नश्यन्ति शत्रवः ॥ १६ ॥
asurakulakalāpatrāsikākālamūrti- rjayatu jayatu kālī chinnamastā karālī
I worship Chinnamasta, from whom they run far away.
यां स्मृत्वा सन्ति सद्यः सकलः सुरगणाः सर्वदा सम्पदाढ्याः
bhuvanabharaṇabhūrī bhrājamānānubhāvā bhava bhava vibhavānāṁ bhāraṇōdbhātabhūtiḥ
She is skilled in protecting the earth and is calm amidst anger.
शत्रूणां सङ्घमाहत्य विशदवदनाः स्वस्थचित्ताः श्रयन्ति ।
dvijakulakamalānāṁ bhāsinī bhānumūrti- rbhavatu bhavatu vāṇī chinnamastā bhavānī
In the act of cutting, she is the embodiment of peace and focus.
तस्याः सङ्कल्पवन्तः सरसिजचरणस्सन्ततं संश्रयन्ति
mama ripugaṇamāśu cchēttumugraṁ kr̥pāṇaṁ sapadi janani tīkṣṇaṁ chinnamuṇḍaṁ gr̥hāṇa
She teaches the earth and the sky, and the knowledge of the land.
साऽऽद्या श्रीशादिसेव्या सुफलतु सुतरां छिन्नमस्ता प्रशस्ता ॥ १७ ॥
bhavatu tava yaśō:'laṁ chindhi śatrūnkalānmē mama ca paridiśēṣṭaṁ chinnamastē kṣamasva
Victory to Chinnamasta, the devourer of enemies!
हृदयमितिमज्ञात्वा हन्तुमिच्छति यो द्विषम् । कथं तस्याचिरं शत्रुर्नाशमेष्यति पार्वति ॥ १८ ॥
chinnagrīvā chinnamastā chinnamuṇḍadharā:'kṣatā
In the age of Kali, she acts with the hands of the doer.
यदीच्छेन्नाशनं शत्रोः शीघ्रमेतत्पठेन्नरः । छिन्नमस्ता प्रसन्नापि ददाति फलमीप्सितम् ॥ १९ ॥
kṣōdakṣēmakarī svakṣā kṣōṇīśācchādana kṣamā
She shines like the blue lotus, illuminating the dim sun.
शत्रुप्रशमनं पुण्यं समीप्सितफलप्रदम् । आयुरारोग्यदं चैव पठतां पुण्यसाधनम् ॥ २० ॥
vairōcanī varārōhā balidānapraharṣitā
Victory to Kali, the fierce form of Chinnamasta!
इति श्रीनन्द्यावर्ते महादेवपार्वतीसंवादे श्रीछिन्नमस्ताहृदयस्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णम् ॥
baliyōjitapādābjā vāsudēva prapūjitā
The bearer of the worlds, shining with great influence,
दशमहाविद्या स्तोत्राणि
iti dvādaśanāmāni chinnamastā priyāṇi yaḥ
May the essence of prosperity flourish.

The radiance of the lotus of the twice-born,
Sri Chinnamastha devi stotram – श्री छिन्नमस्ता देवि स्तोत्रम्
yāṁ smr̥tvā santi sadyaḥ sakalaḥ suragaṇāḥ sarvadā sampadāḍhyāḥ śatrūṇāṁ saṅghamāhatya viśadavadanāḥ svasthacittāḥ śrayanti

tasyāḥ saṅkalpavantaḥ sarasijacaraṇassantataṁ saṁśrayanti sā:':'dyā śrīśādisēvyā suphalatu sutarāṁ chinnamastā praśastā
Quickly cut down my enemies, O fierce one,
