Sri Maha Ganapathi Stotram
The Sri Maha Ganapathi Stotram is a devotional hymn that seeks the blessings of Mahaganapati for success and the removal of obstacles.
श्री गणेश स्तोत्राणि
yōgaṁ yōgavidāṁ vidhūtavividhavyāsaṅgaśuddhāśaya prādurbhūtasudhārasaprasr̥maradhyānāspadādhyāsinām
O Lord Ganesha, I bow to you, the embodiment of all mantras and the essence of wisdom.
योगं योगविदां विधूतविविधव्यासङ्गशुद्धाशय
ānandaplavamānabōdhamadhurāmōdacchaṭāmēduraṁ taṁ bhūmānamupāsmahē pariṇataṁ dantāvalāsyātmanā
You, whose pure heart is free from all impurities, are the source of nectar-like meditation.
प्रादुर्भूतसुधारसप्रसृमरध्यानास्पदाध्यासिनाम् । आनन्दप्लवमानबोधमधुरामोदच्छटामेदुरं
tāraśrīparaśaktikāmavasudhārūpānugaṁ yaṁ vidu- -stasmai stātpraṇatirgaṇādhipatayē yō rāgiṇābhyarthyatē
We worship you, the one who is the embodiment of bliss and the sweet essence of knowledge.
तं भूमानमुपास्महे परिणतं दन्तावलास्यात्मना ॥ १ ॥
āmantrya prathamaṁ varēti varadētyārtēna sarvaṁ janaṁ svāminmē vaśamānayēti satataṁ svāhādibhiḥ pūjitaḥ
O Lord, we offer our reverence to you, who is the supreme being, adorned with tusks.
तारश्रीपरशक्तिकामवसुधारूपानुगं यं विदु-
kallōlāñcalacumbitāmbudatatāvikṣudravāmbhōnidhau dvīpē ratnamayē suradrumavanāmōdaikamēdasvini
To you, who is known as the embodiment of the divine power of the stars, we bow down.
-स्तस्मै स्तात्प्रणतिर्गणाधिपतये यो रागिणाभ्यर्थ्यते । आमन्त्र्य प्रथमं वरेति वरदेत्यार्तेन सर्वं जनं
mūlē kalpatarōrmahāmaṇimayē pīṭhē:'kṣarāmbhōruhē ṣaṭkōṇākalitatrikōṇaracanāsatkarṇikē:'muṁ bhajē
May our devotion reach you, the lord of the Ganas, who is sought after by the passionate.
स्वामिन्मे वशमानयेति सततं स्वाहादिभिः पूजितः ॥ २ ॥
cakraprāsarasālakārmukagadāsadbījapūradvija- -vrīhyagrōtpalapāśapaṅkajakaraṁ śuṇḍāgrajāgradghaṭam
You are the one who grants boons, and we invoke you first, for the welfare of all beings.
कल्लोलाञ्चलचुम्बिताम्बुदतताविक्षुद्रवाम्भोनिधौ
āśliṣṭaṁ priyayā sarōjakarayā ratnasphuradbhūṣayā māṇikyapratimaṁ mahāgaṇapatiṁ viśvēśamāśāsmahē
O Lord, you are always worshipped with offerings and mantras like "Svaha."
द्वीपे रत्नमये सुरद्रुमवनामोदैकमेदस्विनि । मूले कल्पतरोर्महामणिमये पीठेऽक्षराम्भोरुहे
dānāmbhaḥparimēduraprasr̥maravyālambirōlambabhr̥- -tsindūrāruṇagaṇḍamaṇḍalayugavyājātpraśastidvayam
In the ocean of nectar, where waves kiss the shores, you reside on the jewel island.
षट्कोणाकलितत्रिकोणरचनासत्कर्णिकेऽमुं भजे ॥ ३ ॥
trailōkyēṣṭavidhānavarṇasubhagaṁ yaḥ padmarāgōpamaṁ dhattē sa śriyamātanōtu satataṁ dēvō gaṇānāṁ patiḥ
In the garden of celestial trees, you are the sole essence of joy and delight.
चक्रप्रासरसालकार्मुकगदासद्बीजपूरद्विज-
bhrāmyanmandaraghūrṇanāparavaśakṣīrābdhivīcicchaṭā sacchāyāścalacāmaravyatikaraśrīgarvasarvaṅkaṣāḥ
At the root of the wish-fulfilling tree, you are the great jewel, the essence of all beings.
-व्रीह्यग्रोत्पलपाशपङ्कजकरं शुण्डाग्रजाग्रद्घटम् । आश्लिष्टं प्रियया सरोजकरया रत्नस्फुरद्भूषया
dikkāntāghanasāracandanarasāsārāḥ śrayantāṁ manaḥ svacchandaprasarapraliptaviyatō hērambadantatviṣaḥ
I worship you, who is adorned with the six-pointed star and the triangular formations.
माणिक्यप्रतिमं महागणपतिं विश्वेशमाशास्महे ॥ ४ ॥
muktājālakarambitapravikasanmāṇikyapuñjacchaṭā kāntāḥ kambukadambacumbitavanābhōgapravālōpamāḥ
You are the one who holds the discus, the plough, and the mace, and you are the seed of creation.
दानाम्भःपरिमेदुरप्रसृमरव्यालम्बिरोलम्बभृ-
jyōtsnāpūrataraṅgamantharataratsandhyāvayasyāściraṁ hērambasya jayanti dantakiraṇākīrṇāḥ śarīratviṣaḥ
You are the one who brings forth the grains, the lotus, and the net of the divine.
-त्सिन्दूरारुणगण्डमण्डलयुगव्याजात्प्रशस्तिद्वयम् । त्रैलोक्येष्टविधानवर्णसुभगं यः पद्मरागोपमं
śuṇḍāgrākalitēna hēmakalaśēnāvarjitēna kṣara- -nnānāratnacayēna sādhakajanānsambhāvayankōṭiśaḥ
O Lord, you are the one who is embraced by your beloved, adorned with jewels.
धत्ते स श्रियमातनोतु सततं देवो गणानां पतिः ॥ ५ ॥
dānāmōdavinōdalubdhamadhupaprōtsāraṇāvirbhava- -tkarṇāndōlanakhēlanō vijayatē dēvō gaṇagrāmaṇīḥ
We worship you, the great Ganesha, the lord of the universe, who is the essence of all.
भ्राम्यन्मन्दरघूर्णनापरवशक्षीराब्धिवीचिच्छटा
hērambaṁ praṇamāmi yasya purataḥ śāṇḍilyamūlē śriyā bibhratyāmburuhē samaṁ madhuripustē śaṅkhacakrē vahan
You, who are the source of the sweet nectar of generosity, are praised by all.
सच्छायाश्चलचामरव्यतिकरश्रीगर्वसर्वङ्कषाः । दिक्कान्ताघनसारचन्दनरसासाराः श्रयन्तां मनः
nyagrōdhasya talē sahādrisutayā śambhustayā dakṣiṇē bibhrāṇaḥ paraśuṁ triśūlamitayā dēvyā dharaṇyā saha
In the three worlds, you are the one who is beautiful and holds the essence of the lotus.
स्वच्छन्दप्रसरप्रलिप्तवियतो हेरम्बदन्तत्विषः ॥ ६ ॥
paścātpippalamāśritō ratipatirdēvasya ratyōtpalē bibhratyā samamaikṣavaṁ dhanuriṣūnpauṣpānvahanpañca ca
May you, who is like the ruby, always bestow prosperity upon us, O Lord of the Ganas.
मुक्ताजालकरम्बितप्रविकसन्माणिक्यपुञ्जच्छटा
vāmē cakragadādharaḥ sa bhagavānkrōḍaḥ priyāṅgōstalē hastōdyacchukaśālimañjarikayā dēvyā dharaṇyā saha
As the Mandara mountain churns, may your glory shine forth like the ocean's waves.
कान्ताः कम्बुकदम्बचुम्बितवनाभोगप्रवालोपमाः । ज्योत्स्नापूरतरङ्गमन्थरतरत्सन्ध्यावयस्याश्चिरं
ṣaṭkōṇāśriṣu ṣaṭsu ṣaḍgajamukhāḥ pāśāṅkuśābhīvarā- -nbibhrāṇāḥ pramadāsakhāḥ pr̥thumahāśōṇāśmapuñjatviṣaḥ
O Lord, may your presence fill our hearts with the essence of sandalwood and bliss.
हेरम्बस्य जयन्ति दन्तकिरणाकीर्णाः शरीरत्विषः ॥ ७ ॥
āmōdaḥ purataḥ pramōdasumukhau taṁ cābhitō durmukhaḥ paścātpārśvagatō:'sya vighna iti yō yō vighnakartēti ca
May our minds be absorbed in you, who is the embodiment of the light of the moon.
शुण्डाग्राकलितेन हेमकलशेनावर्जितेन क्षर-
āmōdādigaṇēśvarapriyatamāstatraiva nityaṁ sthitāḥ kāntāślēṣarasajñamantharadr̥śaḥ siddhiḥ samr̥ddhistataḥ
With the brilliance of your tusks, may you illuminate the path of the seekers.
-न्नानारत्नचयेन साधकजनान्सम्भावयन्कोटिशः । दानामोदविनोदलुब्धमधुपप्रोत्सारणाविर्भव-
kāntiryā madanāvatītyapi tathā kalpēṣu yā gīyatē sānyā yāpi madadravā tadaparā drāviṇyamūḥ pūjitāḥ
In the presence of the divine, may we be blessed with the essence of the precious gems.
-त्कर्णान्दोलनखेलनो विजयते देवो गणग्रामणीः ॥ ८ ॥
āśliṣṭau vasudhētyathō vasumatī tābhyāṁ sitālōhitau varṣantau vasupārśvayōrvilasatastau śaṅkhapadmau nidhī
May the beauty of the lotus, kissed by the bees, bring forth your grace.
हेरम्बं प्रणमामि यस्य पुरतः शाण्डिल्यमूले श्रिया
aṅgānyanvatha mātaraśca paritaḥ śakrādayō:'bjāśrayā- -stadbāhyēḥ kuliśādayaḥ paripatatkālānalajyōtiṣaḥ
May the waves of your light fill the world with joy and peace, O Lord Ganesha.
बिभ्रत्याम्बुरुहे समं मधुरिपुस्ते शङ्खचक्रे वहन् । न्यग्रोधस्य तले सहाद्रिसुतया शम्भुस्तया दक्षिणे
itthaṁ viṣṇuśivāditattvatanavē śrīvakratuṇḍāya huṁ- -kārākṣiptasamastadaitya pr̥tanāvrātāya dīptatviṣē
May your radiant form, adorned with the light of victory, shine upon us forever.
बिभ्राणः परशुं त्रिशूलमितया देव्या धरण्या सह ॥ ९ ॥
ānandaikarasāvabōdhalaharī vidhvastasarvōrmayē sarvatra prathamānamugdhamahasē tasmai parasmai namaḥ
With your blessings, may we be surrounded by the essence of all that is divine.
पश्चात्पिप्पलमाश्रितो रतिपतिर्देवस्य रत्योत्पले
sēvā hēvākidēvāsuranaranikarasphārakōṭīrakōṭī kāṭivyāṭīkamānadyumaṇisamamaṇiśrēṇibhāvēṇikānām
I bow to the divine leader of the celestial hosts, who is delighted by the offerings, whose ears are stirred by the sweet sounds of the bees, and who is victorious.
बिभ्रत्या सममैक्षवं धनुरिषून्पौष्पान्वहन्पञ्च च । वामे चक्रगदाधरः स भगवान्क्रोडः प्रियाङ्गोस्तले
rājannīrājanaśrīsukhacaraṇanakhadyōtavidyōtamānaḥ śrēyaḥ sthēyaḥ sa dēyānmama vimaladr̥śō bandhuraṁ sindhurāsyaḥ
I bow to Heramba, whose presence is adorned with the wealth of the Shandilya lineage, and who carries the conch and discus equally with the beautiful enemy of the gods.
हस्तोद्यच्छुकशालिमञ्जरिकया देव्या धरण्या सह ॥ १० ॥
ētēna prakaṭarahasyamantramālā- -garbhēṇa sphuṭatarasaṁvidā stavēna
At the foot of the banyan tree, with the daughter of the Sahya mountains, He holds the axe and trident, along with the goddess of the earth.
षट्कोणाश्रिषु षट्सु षड्गजमुखाः पाशाङ्कुशाभीवरा-
yaḥ stauti pracurataraṁ mahāgaṇēśaṁ tasyēyaṁ bhavati vaśaṁvadā trilōkī
Later, the lord of love, who is sheltered by the pippala tree, holds the bow and five flowers, gazing equally at the arrows.
-न्बिभ्राणाः प्रमदासखाः पृथुमहाशोणाश्मपुञ्जत्विषः । आमोदः पुरतः प्रमोदसुमुखौ तं चाभितो दुर्मुखः
iti śrīmatparamahaṁsa parivrājakācāryavarya śrīrāghavacaitanya viracitaṁ mahāgaṇapati stōtram
On the left, the Lord who holds the discus and mace is that Bhagavan, who is dear to the beloved, with hands raised, along with the goddess of the earth.
