श्री सूर्य स्तोत्राणि
dr̥ṣṭvaivaṁ dēvadēvasya rūpaṁ bhānōrmahātmanaḥ
O Lord of Lords, having seen the form of the great soul of the sun,
दृष्ट्वैवं देवदेवस्य रूपं भानोर्महात्मनः ।
vismayōtphullanayanāstuṣṭavustē divākaram
The eyes filled with wonder, they praised the sun god.
विस्मयोत्फुल्लनयनास्तुष्टवुस्ते दिवाकरम् ॥ १ ॥
kr̥tāñjalipuṭō bhūtvā brahmā stōtuṁ pracakramē
Having become a folded hand, Brahma began to praise him,
कृताञ्जलिपुटो भूत्वा ब्रह्मा स्तोतुं प्रचक्रमे ।
praṇamya śirasā bhānumidaṁ vacanamabravīt
Bowing his head, he spoke this word to the sun.
प्रणम्य शिरसा भानुमिदं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥ २ ॥
brahmōvāca
Brahma said:
ब्रह्मोवाच ।
namastē dēvadēvēśa sahasrakiraṇōjjvala
Salutations to you, O Lord of Lords, radiant with a thousand rays,
नमस्ते देवदेवेश सहस्रकिरणोज्ज्वल । लोकदीप नमस्तेऽस्तु नमस्ते कोणवल्लभ ॥ ३ ॥
lōkadīpa namastē:'stu namastē kōṇavallabha
Salutations to you, O light of the worlds; I bow to you, O beloved of the corners.
भास्कराय नमो नित्यं खषोल्काय नमो नमः । विष्णवे कालचक्राय सोमायामिततेजसे ॥ ४ ॥
bhāskarāya namō nityaṁ khaṣōlkāya namō namaḥ
Salutations to you, O Bhaskara, eternally; salutations to you, O Lord of the sky.
नमस्ते पञ्चकालाय इन्द्राय वसुरेतसे । खगाय लोकनाथाय एकचक्ररथाय च ॥ ५ ॥
viṣṇavē kālacakrāya sōmāyāmitatējasē
Salutations to you, O Vishnu, O time wheel, O moon with infinite radiance.
जगद्धिताय देवाय शिवायामिततेजसे । तमोघ्नाय सुरूपाय तेजसां निधये नमः ॥ ६ ॥
namastē pañcakālāya indrāya vasurētasē
Salutations to you, O five-fold time, O Indra, O lord of wealth,
अर्थाय कामरूपाय धर्मायामिततेजसे । मोक्षाय मोक्षरूपाय सूर्याय च नमो नमः ॥ ७ ॥
khagāya lōkanāthāya ēkacakrarathāya ca
Salutations to you, O bird, O lord of the worlds, O one who rides the single wheel.
क्रोधलोभविहीनाय लोकानां स्थितिहेतवे । शुभाय शुभरूपाय शुभदाय शुभात्मने ॥ ८ ॥
jagaddhitāya dēvāya śivāyāmitatējasē
For the welfare of the world, to the gods, to Shiva, O one with infinite radiance,
शान्ताय शान्तरूपाय शान्तयेऽस्मासु वै नमः । नमस्ते ब्रह्मरूपाय ब्राह्मणाय नमो नमः ॥ ९ ॥
tamōghnāya surūpāya tējasāṁ nidhayē namaḥ
Salutations to you, O dispeller of darkness, O beautiful one, I bow to your brilliance.
ब्रह्मदेवाय ब्रह्मरूपाय ब्रह्मणे परमात्मने । ब्रह्मणे च प्रसादं वै कुरु देव जगत्पते ॥ १० ॥
arthāya kāmarūpāya dharmāyāmitatējasē
Salutations to you, O embodiment of desire, for the purpose of wealth,
एवं स्तुत्वा रविं ब्रह्मा श्रद्धया परया विभो । तूष्णीमासीन्महाभाग प्रहृष्टेनान्तरात्मना ॥ ११ ॥
mōkṣāya mōkṣarūpāya sūryāya ca namō namaḥ
Salutations to you, O embodiment of righteousness, O one with infinite radiance.
ब्रह्मणोऽनन्तरं रुद्रः स्तोत्रं चक्रे विभावसोः । त्रिपुरारिर्महातेजाः प्रणम्य शिरसा रविम् ॥ १२ ॥
krōdhalōbhavihīnāya lōkānāṁ sthitihētavē
Salutations to you, O embodiment of liberation, O sun, I bow again and again.
महादेव उवाच । जय भाव जयाजेय जय हंस दिवाकर ।
śubhāya śubharūpāya śubhadāya śubhātmanē
Without anger and greed, for the welfare of the worlds,
जय शम्भो महाबाहो खग गोचर भूधर ॥ १३ ॥
śāntāya śāntarūpāya śāntayē:'smāsu vai namaḥ
To the auspicious, to the auspicious form, to the giver of auspiciousness, to the auspicious soul,
जय लोकप्रदीपेन जय भानो जगत्पते ।
namastē brahmarūpāya brāhmaṇāya namō namaḥ
To the peaceful, to the peaceful form, to the source of peace, I bow down.
जय काल जयाऽनन्त संवत्सर शुभानन ॥ १४ ॥
brahmadēvāya brahmarūpāya brahmaṇē paramātmanē
Salutations to you, O embodiment of Brahman, to you, O Brahmin, I bow repeatedly.
जय देवाऽदितेः पुत्र कश्यपानन्दवर्धन ।
brahmaṇē ca prasādaṁ vai kuru dēva jagatpatē
To the divine Brahman, to the embodiment of Brahman, to the Supreme Soul,
तमोघ्न जय सप्तेश जय सप्ताश्ववाहन ॥ १५ ॥
ēvaṁ stutvā raviṁ brahmā śraddhayā parayā vibhō
O Lord of the universe, grant your grace to Brahman.
ग्रहेश जय कान्तीश जय कालेश शङ्कर ।
tūṣṇīmāsīnmahābhāga prahr̥ṣṭēnāntarātmanā
Thus, praising the sun, Brahma, with utmost faith,
अर्थकामेश धर्मेश जय मोक्षेश शर्मद ॥ १६ ॥
brahmaṇō:'nantaraṁ rudraḥ stōtraṁ cakrē vibhāvasōḥ
Sat in silence, the great being, rejoicing in his innermost self.
जय वेदाङ्गरूपाय ग्रहरूपाय वै गतः ।
tripurārirmahātējāḥ praṇamya śirasā ravim
Then, after Brahman, Rudra composed a hymn for the radiant one.
सत्याय सत्यरूपाय सुरूपाय शुभाय च ॥ १७ ॥
mahādēva uvāca
The great enemy of Tripura, bowing his head, worshipped the sun.
क्रोधलोभविनाशाय कामनाशाय वै जय ।
jaya bhāva jayājēya jaya haṁsa divākara
Mahadeva spoke:
कल्माषपक्षिरूपाय यतिरूपाय शम्भवे ॥ १८ ॥
jaya śambhō mahābāhō khaga gōcara bhūdhara
Victory to the essence, victory to the victorious, victory to the swan, the sun of the day.
विश्वाय विश्वरूपाय विश्वकर्माय वै जय ।
jaya lōkapradīpēna jaya bhānō jagatpatē
Victory to Shambhu, O mighty-armed one, O bird, O mountain dweller.
जयोङ्कार वषट्कार स्वाहाकार स्वधाय च ॥ १९ ॥
jaya kāla jayā:'nanta saṁvatsara śubhānana
Victory to the light of the worlds, victory to the sun, O Lord of the universe.
जयाश्वमेधरूपाय चाग्निरूपार्यमाय च ।
jaya dēvā:'ditēḥ putra kaśyapānandavardhana
Victory to time, victory to the infinite, O auspicious-faced one of the year.
संसारार्णवपीताय मोक्षद्वारप्रदाय च ॥ २० ॥
tamōghna jaya saptēśa jaya saptāśvavāhana
Victory to you, O son of Aditi, the enhancer of Kashyapa's joy.
संसारार्णवमग्नस्य मम देव जगत्पते ।
grahēśa jaya kāntīśa jaya kālēśa śaṅkara
Victory to you, O conqueror of darkness, victory to you, O Lord of the seven stars.
हस्तावलम्बनो देव भव त्वं गोपतेऽद्भुत ॥ २१ ॥
arthakāmēśa dharmēśa jaya mōkṣēśa śarmada
Victory to you, O Lord of the planets, victory to you, O Lord of brilliance, victory to you, O Lord of time, O Shankara.
ईशोऽप्येवमहीनाङ्गं स्तुत्वा भानुं प्रयत्नतः ।
jaya vēdāṅgarūpāya graharūpāya vai gataḥ
Victory to you, O Lord of wealth and desires, victory to you, O Lord of righteousness, victory to you, O Lord of liberation, O source of joy.
विरराज महाराज प्रणम्य शिरसा रविम् ॥ २२ ॥
satyāya satyarūpāya surūpāya śubhāya ca
Victory to you, who embodies the Vedas, who takes the form of celestial bodies.
अथ विष्णुर्महातेजाः कृताञ्जलिपुटो रविम् ।
krōdhalōbhavināśāya kāmanāśāya vai jaya
Victory to you, O embodiment of truth, O beautiful one, and auspiciousness.
उवाच राजशार्दूल भक्त्या श्रद्धासमन्वितः ॥ २३ ॥
kalmāṣapakṣirūpāya yatirūpāya śambhavē
Victory to you, who destroys anger and greed, and who annihilates desires.
विष्णुरुवाच ।
viśvāya viśvarūpāya viśvakarmāya vai jaya
Victory to you, O form of the bird of prey, O form of the ascetic, O Shambhu.
नमामि देवदेवेशं भूतभावनमव्ययम् । दिवाकरं रविं भानुं मार्तण्डं भास्करं भगम् ॥ २४ ॥
jayōṅkāra vaṣaṭkāra svāhākāra svadhāya ca
Victory to you, O universal being, O embodiment of the universe, O architect of all.
इन्द्रं विष्णुं हरिं हंसमर्कं लोकगुरुं विभुम् । त्रिनेत्रं त्र्यक्षरं त्र्यङ्गं त्रिमूर्तिं त्रिगतिं शुभम् ॥ २५ ॥
jayāśvamēdharūpāya cāgnirūpāryamāya ca
Victory to you, O sound of victory, O invocation, O offering, and O self-offering.
षण्मुखाय नमो नित्यं त्रिनेत्राय नमो नमः । चतुर्विंशतिपादाय नमो द्वादशपाणिने ॥ २६ ॥
saṁsārārṇavapītāya mōkṣadvārapradāya ca
Victory to you, O embodiment of the horse sacrifice, and O form of fire, O Aryama.
नमस्ते भूतपतये लोकानां पतये नमः । देवानां पतये नित्यं वर्णानां पतये नमः ॥ २७ ॥
saṁsārārṇavamagnasya mama dēva jagatpatē
You are the one who quenches the ocean of worldly existence and grants the door to liberation.
त्वं ब्रह्मा त्वं जगन्नाथो रुद्रस्त्वं च प्रजापतिः । त्वं सोमस्त्वं तथादित्यस्त्वमोङ्कारक एव हि ॥ २८ ॥
hastāvalambanō dēva bhava tvaṁ gōpatē:'dbhuta
To you, O Lord of the universe, who is submerged in the ocean of worldly existence,
बृहस्पतिर्बुधस्त्वं हि त्वं शुक्रस्त्वं विभावसुः । यमस्त्वं वरुणस्त्वं हि नमस्ते कश्यपात्मज ॥ २९ ॥
īśō:'pyēvamahīnāṅgaṁ stutvā bhānuṁ prayatnataḥ
May you, O Lord, who holds the hand, be wondrous, O protector of cows.
त्वया ततमिदं सर्वं जगत् स्थावरजङ्गमम् । त्वत्त एव समुत्पन्नं सदेवासुरमानुषम् ॥ ३० ॥
virarāja mahārāja praṇamya śirasā ravim
Even the Lord himself, having praised the sun, strives diligently.
ब्रह्मा चाहं च रुद्रश्च समुत्पन्ना जगत्पते । कल्पादौ तु पुरा देव स्थितये जगतोऽनघ ॥ ३१ ॥
atha viṣṇurmahātējāḥ kr̥tāñjalipuṭō ravim
King Viraraja, bowing his head to the Sun,
नमस्ते वेदरूपाय अह्नरूपाय वै नमः । नमस्ते ज्ञानरूपाय यज्ञाय च नमो नमः ॥ ३२ ॥
uvāca rājaśārdūla bhaktyā śraddhāsamanvitaḥ
Then Vishnu, of great radiance, with folded hands, addressed the Sun.
प्रसीदास्मासु देवेश भूतेश किरणोज्ज्वल । संसारार्णवमग्नानां प्रसादं कुरु गोपते ।
viṣṇuruvāca
The king of beasts, with devotion and faith, spoke to him.
वेदान्ताय नमो नित्यं नमो यज्ञकलाय च ॥ ३३ ॥
namāmi dēvadēvēśaṁ bhūtabhāvanamavyayam
Vishnu said,
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे ब्राह्मेपर्वणि त्रिपञ्चाशदुत्तरशततमोऽध्याये त्रिदेवकृत श्री रवि स्तुतिः ।
divākaraṁ raviṁ bhānuṁ mārtaṇḍaṁ bhāskaraṁ bhagam
I bow to the Lord of gods, the eternal creator of beings,
श्री सूर्य स्तोत्राणि
indraṁ viṣṇuṁ hariṁ haṁsamarkaṁ lōkaguruṁ vibhum
To the sun, the radiant one, the Martanda, the Bhaskara, the blessed one,
नवग्रह स्तोत्राणि
trinētraṁ tryakṣaraṁ tryaṅgaṁ trimūrtiṁ trigatiṁ śubham
To Indra, Vishnu, Hari, the swan, the sun, the universal teacher, the omnipotent,

To the three-eyed, the three-syllabled, the three-bodied, the trinity, the auspicious one,
