Legend
Bandi Devi is a manifestation of the goddess shakti. She is known as a protector from hardships. According to a religious belief, she protected Lord Rama and Lakshman from the clutches of Ravan when he took them to Patal Lok. She is also known as ‘Patal Devi’, according to beliefs. It is also said that Maa Bandi Devi has been taking care of her devotees since the age of Treta.
Since then, she has been referred to as a goddess who frees her devotees from hardships and helps them to attain their desires. As per popular belief, this form of Maa Shakti helps those who are facing trouble to have children.
Devotees put a lock near Devi’s idol and keep keys with them. After their wish gets fulfilled, they come back to open the lock. After the process, the lock along with the keys is thrown into the holy river Ganga. She blesses her devotees with prosperity.
Tuesday is the day associated with Goddess Bandi Devi.
