Chokkanathaswamy Temple

Constructed in the 10th century under the patronage of the Cholas, this temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It showcases the distinctive architectural style of the Chola dynasty, with Tamil inscriptions adorning the pillars.
The temple's main attractions include its grand pillars and exquisitely sculpted statues. Among them, one particular pillar showcases the etched depictions of Lord Vishnu's ten incarnations, known as dashavatharas. According to legend, visitors to the temple often experience a heightened pranic energy flowing through their bodies as they engage in prayer.
