Govind Devji Temple: Behold the Idol of Lord Krishna Crafted by His Great-Grandson's Hands

The story behind this divine idol dates back to the time of Shri Bajranabh, the great-grandson of Lord Krishna. At the tender age of 13, Bajranabh inquired about the appearance of the deity whom everyone revered. His grandmother, Lakshmana, began describing the Lord's features, and as she spoke, Bajranabh skillfully crafted the statue based on her descriptions. However, upon completion, only the feet bore resemblance to Lord Krishna, and the idol was named "Madan Mohanji."
Undeterred, Bajranabh endeavored to create a better image, leading to the crafting of "Gopinathji," with the chest part resembling the divine form of Lord Krishna. Finally, he fashioned the third idol, which bore an exact likeness to Lord Krishna's face, and this was named "Govind Devji." Sawai Jai Singh II had the privilege of bringing this sacred idol to Jaipur, where Govind Devji Temple continues to be a cherished abode of devotion and spirituality.
