Jal Mandir

The temple derives its name from its location, as it stands at the center of a water-body. The remarkable architecture and the divine presence associated with this revered soul establish it as one of Bihar's finest temples. Found in Pawapuri, within the Nalanda district of Bihar, the Jal Mandir is a mere 19 kilometers away from Rajgir and approximately 100 kilometers from the capital city of Patna.
According to legend, it is believed that Lord Mahavir attained moksha (liberation) at this very site, with the Jal Mandir situated precisely where the epitome of ahimsa (non-violence) achieved nirvana. The temple houses the "Charan Paduka" (foot imprints) of Lord Mahavir.
