Legend
There is a Skanda Mata temple outside of India, and it is known as the Bagishwari Devi temple in Nepal. Skanda Mata is the fifth incarnation of the Hindu goddess Durga. Skanda, another name for the war god Kartikeya, which means mother, is the root of her name.
She resides in the Vishuddha chakra. Skanda Mata has four arms, three eyes, and a lion for a mount. Her remaining two hands are usually depicted clutching lotus flowers. One of her hands is frequently shown in the fear-eliminating Abhayamudra pose, while the other is used to carry her son Skanda’s infant form on her lap. She has a fair complexion, and because she is frequently depicted sitting on a lotus, she is sometimes called Padamasani.
According to popular belief, if unhappy children worship these mothers, their wishes would come true. In addition, the mother queen also removes obstacles from young people’s education.
Shailputri Durga, Brahmacharini Durga, Chandraghanta Durga, Kushmanda Durga, Skand Mata Durga, Katyayani Durga, Kalratri Durga, Mahagauri Durga, and Siddhidatri Durga all have their temples in Varanasi. The only city in India with such distinction, most likely. In addition to visiting the well-known temples dedicated to Lord Viswanatha, Visalakshi, Annapoorni Devi, Kal Bhairav, etc., one must also visit these.
The fifth day of Shardiya Navratri is devoted to the devotion of Goddess Skanda Mata, the fifth manifestation of Goddess Durga. This particular manifestation of Goddess Durga is referred to as Skanda Mata because she is shown holding her son Skanda (Kartikeya) in her lap. It is thought that those who worship her have their wishes granted, find serenity and pleasure, and quickly reach salvation. The Skanda Mata Deity is located on the first level of this temple, and Bagishwari Mata’s Deity is located in the cave below.
Additionally, this complex has the Siddhi Vinayak temple. Skanda is the name of Sanat Kumar, who was created by Bhagwati. Due to her status as Skanda Mata, this manifestation of Bhagwati is known as Skand Mata. Bhagwati Skanda Mata practitioners do not experience any bodily, divine, or physical anguish.
The sky element is represented by Skanda Mata. On one side of Nav Durga, there are four females, and Skanda Mata is in the centre. Motherhood is one of them. In other words, it is each element’s fundamental point shape. Groundwater, fire, and air are three of the four elements. The mother of the sky, on the other hand, is after the four elements of mind, intellect, ego, and consciousness. The sky serves as the foundation for all elements. Skanda Mata Prakriti is the functional organ as a result. Akash happens instantly.
