Ten Tirumullaivaayil Temple, also known as Ten Tirumullaivaayil Sivastalam, is a revered coastal shrine located in the vicinity of Tiruvenkadu and Pallavaneeswaram in the Chola region of Tamil Nadu. It holds a special place as the seventh Tevara Stalam on the northern banks of the river Kaveri, renowned for its legends and spiritual significance.
The Temple:
Ten Tirumullaivaayil Temple is believed to have been worshipped and built by Killivalavan, a Sangam period king. The temple complex features inscriptions from both the Vijayanagar and Maratha periods, showcasing its historical significance.
Within the temple's prakaram (enclosure), devotees can find shrines dedicated to various deities, including Kothaiammai, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi, Karpaka Vinayakar, and others. The stala vriksham, or sacred tree, known as the mullai creeper, can be seen entwined around another tree, adding to the temple's natural beauty.
