Tiruchchaaikkadu Temple, also known as Chaayaavanam, is a revered Hindu shrine and one of the two Shivastalams in the ancient Chola seashore capital of Poompuhaar, known to be on par with Kashi (Varanasi). This temple holds a special place as the ninth Tevara Stalam on the northern banks of the river Kaveri in the Chola region of Tamil Nadu.

Tiruchchaaikkadu Temple finds mentions in the Akanaanooru and Natrinai, the Sangam period literary works. The temple complex boasts images of important deities, including Lord Surya, Lord Indra, Iyarpakai Nayanaar (one of the 63 Nayanmaars), and a unique image of Lord Subramanya with a bow that is said to have been recovered from the sea. The temple also houses inscriptions from the imperial Chola period, reflecting its historical and architectural significance.

A notable feature within the temple is a mural depicting the legend of Iyarpakai Nayanaar, an illustrious Nayanmaar associated with this sacred site.
