Legend/Story
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married at the site where the Triyuginarayan Temple is located. The legend goes that Lord Shiva performed his marriage rituals here in the presence of Lord Vishnu, Lord Brahma, and other gods and goddesses. The temple is built around the sacred fire pit where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati took their vows of marriage.
It is believed that the temple's name, Triyuginarayan, is derived from the fact that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati's union lasted for three yugas or cycles of time. The temple is considered to be one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in Hinduism and is believed to bring good fortune and blessings to those who visit it.
Architecture
The Triyuginarayan Temple is a beautiful example of traditional North Indian temple architecture. The temple is built using locally sourced stone and wood and is surrounded by lush green forests and scenic mountains. The temple also conducts special poojas on auspicious occasions such as Navaratri, which is celebrated with great fervor at the temple.
The best time to visit the Triyuginarayan Temple is from May to June and from September to November, when the weather is pleasant and the surrounding natural beauty is at its peak. The temple experiences heavy footfall during the months of July and August, when the annual Char Dham Yatra takes place.
