Legend
Yama Aditya is a form of lord Surya situated in Varanasi Uttar Pradesh. Once Yamraj installed one Shiv Ling and one idol for Lord Surya in Yam Teerth and performed tapas near the established idols. The Shiv Ling established by Yamraj, came to be known as Yameshwar and the idol of Lord Surya came to be known as Yama Aditya.
According to Kashi Khand, if a person takes bath in Yama Teerth (now the holy river Ganga at Sankata Ghat), and worships Yameshwar and Yama Aditya, will never face the hardships of hell (He will reach heaven after his death).
According to writing in Kashi Khand, if a person performs rituals for his forefather, Pind daan, on an auspicious day when Tuesday, Bharani Nakshatra, and Chaturdasi (the 14th day after Amavasya or Poornima) coincide, he will be free from his Pind Rin and attain utmost happiness and prosperity.
A person, who prays to lord shiva and Lord Surya in the form of Yama Aditya and Yamesh war in Varanasi after taking bath in Yama Teerth will always remain happy.
