Shatapadha Brahmana

Shatapatha Brahmana, Madhyandina recension belongs to Shukla Yajurveda. It is divided into 14 Kandas, 100 Adhyayas, 68 Prapathakas, 436 Brahmanas and 7179 Kandikas. There are sixty Kandas in the first nine Kandas. The tenth Kanda is called Agnirahasya, eleventh is Astadhyayayi and kandas twelfth to fourteenth are called Parisishta. The text contains details on altar-constructions, mantra recitation and various other topics. The Satapatha-brahmana dates to at least the first millenium B.C.
