भोज्यं भोजनशक्तिश्च रतिशक्तिर्वराङ्गना । विभवो दानशक्तिश्च नाल्पस्य तपसः फलम् ॥2ll

भोजन के योग्य पदार्थ और भोजन करने की क्षमता, सुन्दर स्त्री और उसे भोगने के लिए काम शक्ति, पर्याप्त धनराशी तथा दान देने की भावना – ऐसे संयोगों का होना सामान्य तप का फल नहीं है।

To have the ability for eating when dishes are ready at hand, to be robust and virile in the company of one’s religiously wedded wife, and to have a mind for making charity when one is prosperous are the fruits of no ordinary austerities.
