It is held on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Kartik, about 15 days after the main Diwali festival. Dev Deepawali is a unique and grand event where the city of Varanasi, already renowned for its spiritual significance, transforms into a luminous wonderland.
Morning
Start your day early with a visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and also one of the 12 Jyotirlinga. Experience the divine energy and observe the rituals at this iconic temple.
After seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva, proceed to Annapoorna Mata Temple, which is nearby. This temple is dedicated to the goddess of nourishment, Annapoorna Maa. You can offer your prayers and seek blessings for a fulfilling day ahead.
Mid-morning: 3. Head to Vishalakshi Mata Temple, located near the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati (Vishalakshi), the consort of Lord Shiva and also one of the 51 Shaktipeeth. Seek her blessings and spend some serene moments in this sacred place.
Lunch: 4. Enjoy a traditional North Indian meal at a local restaurant or cafe, savoring the flavors of Varanasi's cuisine.
Afternoon
We will visit Kaal Bhairav Temple, an important shrine dedicated to Lord Bhairav, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. Be prepared for a unique spiritual experience at this temple!!
Explore the Maan Mahal Museum, a royal palace turned into a museum, to discover Varanasi's rich history and culture. The museum houses a fascinating collection of artifacts, vintage photos, and historical documents.
Evening
As the sun begins to set, make your way to the Ghats along the Ganga River to witness the breathtaking Ganga Aarti ceremony. This mesmerizing ritual is performed at Dashashwamedh Ghat, and it's a sight to behold.
Dinner: After the aarti, enjoy a sumptuous dinner at a local restaurant or cafe near the Ghats, where you can savor traditional Varanasi delicacies and relish the serene atmosphere by the river.
Day Three
Early morning departure from Varanasi to Prayagraj.
Arrive at Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. Take a holy dip (Snan) at this auspicious site. Witness the spiritual fervor and rituals performed by pilgrims and sadhus.
Visit the Lete Hanuman/Bade Hanuman Mandir, a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Seek blessings and immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere of this temple.
Enjoy a local lunch at a restaurant in Prayagraj.
Depart for Patal Puri, a sacred underground chamber that is believed to be the entrance to the netherworld. It holds significant religious importance and is often visited by pilgrims.
Continue your journey to Vindhyanchal, which is known for its spiritual significance and the revered Vindhyawasini Mata Mandir.
Explore the Vindhyawasini Mata Mandir, offer your prayers, and soak in the spiritual ambiance of this revered temple.
Head back to Varanasi in the evening, capturing the memories of your enriching day trip to Prayagraj and Vindhyanchal.
